Given the housing market right now, that is looking better and better to be honest – just for fun let's check out what this “Getaway Pad” has to offer!

Keep in mind – this kit only includes the metal frame – so you'll still have to provide allll the other materials to finish it and furnish it. A LOT of things aren't included – so if you're new to the build-your-own structure world you'll definitely want to read the blueprints thoroughly so you know what you're in for. I'd love to hear if you'd consider building one of these for either a guest house, office space or other purpose!
And if you've been on TikTok lately, you may have seen a viral post going around showing a HOUSE that you can buy at The Home Depot. UMM? Well, it's sort of a house. It's actually a shed turned into a house!
People have been turning sheds into tiny homes for a while now, but with the competitive housing market and inflation on the rise, it might make for a possible idea for some handy folks!??
Now before we get into a few tiny homes that we found, please note that this idea is not for everyone. It **may** be a cheaper and faster option than building your home from scratch with a home builder. However, you'll really need to know what you're doing or be willing to hire someone who does.
Several things to consider before investing in a tiny home is that you'll need to budget for a permit, the foundation, flooring, plumbing, wiring, insulation, roofing materials, electricity, painting, and more.
However, I think the idea is SO fun and I love the possibilities! 🙂

1. 12 ft. x 24 ft. Wood Storage Shed Kit – $10,109

This adorable tiny home kit includes two 9 ft. x 6 ft. 3 in. rooms and a 19 ft. x 6 ft. bunk to area for a total of 456 sq. ft. of total interior space. The building includes a half wrap around front terrace which offers over 300 sq. ft. of relaxing space. Roofing shingles are sold separately.

And if you're curious if this shed-to-tiny-home-transformation is even possible, check out this amazing DIY from a couple who turned a shed into their main dwelling! That's right! Beth & Barry Smith built a tiny home from a 16′ x 24′ Tuff Shed from The Home Depot (unfortunately, it's no longer available).
They spent around $65,000 on everything after it was all said and done – but their 768 sq. ft. tiny home includes a full kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and more. It's GORGEOUS!
