How to Throw a Planner Party
Do you ever see an idea that you think is so amazing you just want to tell EVERYONE about it? Well that's what happened last week when PPP customer Krystal shared this post about a “Pray, Plan & PJs Party” she hosted for a group of close friends. Our team was so in love with the idea we wanted to share with you, as it's such a perfect thing to do to ring in the new year as you fill out your 2024 Home Planner with goals, events, and activities! (Don't have a group of friend to planner party with? Join me Sunday night for a virtual planner party!)
Krystal posted this in our Planner Facebook group:
My planner and this group inspired me to host my first (prayerfully annual) Pray, Plan, & PJ party! I got a group of my planner loving friends together, we prayed over our planners and then sharee ideas and inspired each other on things to put in our planner. It was an amazing event and I enjoyed working on my planner with friends!
How To Host a Planning Party:
Krystal shared these pictures with us of her planner party – and gave us permission to share them here with you as well!
First – the invitation she sent to friends is so PERFECT for a prayerful evening of planning the coming year! I love how the goal of the night is to plan with intention, humility and flexibility – what a great way to settle into a prayerful planning night.
Krystal had the most darling decor prepared for her guests – these little lounge/planning areas are so pretty and sweet! And considering that it's a pajama party – it really sets the theme for the evening 🙂 She used twin-sized air mattresses to give friends a place to relax and have a mental break from the planning session – while some friends stayed the night there.
She provided her guests with all kinds of planning essentials – including a guideline to help focus everyone in on what to plan for (see below) – as well as stickers, pens, highlighters, sticky tabs and more! (Can we all go to Krystal's next year???)
She said she ALSO printed off blank monthly calendar s and birthday calendars so everyone could organize their thoughts and dates BEFORE putting them into their official planner. (Brilliant!)
The PPP Home Planner is equipped with special areas set aside for home/car maintenance, seasonal prepping, meal planning and finances – but I love that this helpful list also includes things like “introvert recovery days” and “self-development time” – those are great things to plan ahead for!
I love how everyone is planning their year together, sharing goals and dreams and inspiring one another! Krystal said she gave everyone question prompts so throughout the evening they could ask various questions that sparked ideas and things to put in the planner. The questions centered around best date night options, things to do with kids, friend time activities, meal planning, etc…
Questions/ Prompts:
- What is your go to meal during a busy week?
- What do you struggle with to do consistently on a routine bases?
- What is one of Louisville’s hidden secrets(experience or restaurant)
- Is time with friends important? Why or why not?
- How do you prioritize when you have multiple things happening on same day?
- What is your favorite thing to do with friends?
- What’s a good family activity that not many people do?
- What would you do on a day that you have no plans?
The extra touches were so thoughtful – you can tell how much she wants to make her friends feel special in all the little details 🙂
She also put together party favor bags that included meal planner sheets, calendars and other goodies she found at Target's dollar spot. Everyone looks so happy to be part of this event, we're all a wee bit jealous not to have been on the guest list! 😉
Thanks so much Krystal for sharing your party inspiration (and pictures) with all of us!!!

Wow! Krystal your party was amazing. You showered so much love onto your friends. I would love to one day be able to do this with my friends and/or granddaughters (I have 16 granddaughters ranging from 8 days to 23 years old). This year I gave my 23 year old granddaughter the planner with all the accessories and she was so excited. Last year I gave the set to her mom who is continuing to use PPP. This fall my daughter-in-law (the one who just had the baby) and I put almost 40 freezer meals together for my son to be able to take care of their 7 children while she recovers and nurses the baby. (They live 8 hours away). We all love the PPP. Thank you Laurie and staff for all that you do.
