Turkey Donuts for Thanksgiving Breakfast!
Laura, here! I love finding little ways to surprise my kids with fun meals around holidays. So, these adorable turkey donuts are the perfect fit for a fun kick off to Thanksgiving Day!
These are so easy to make and you can even make them ahead of time. Great for starting off your day watching the parade, or even just a fun mid-morning treat.
Here's how to make these cuties!
Supplies
You'll need to grab
- Donuts
- Froot Loops cereal
- Candy eyes
- Long toothpicks
- Icing or frosting
I used plain glazed donuts for this but you could definitely do chocolate or chocolate iced – I think the feathers and eyes make enough of an impact so get the donuts you love!

How to make turkey donuts
Start by color sorting your Froot Loops. This was definitely the most time consuming part so I recommend outsourcing this job to an unsuspecting dad or grandparents while you do another one of the million things moms do for holidays! 🙂
Insert toothpicks along one side of the donut, spaced evenly leaving just enough room for the cereal.
Next, stack one color per toothpick to create the feathers.
Next, use small dots of icing to attach the candy eyes.
For the beak and gobble, use half of a red Froot Loop and half of an orange. Attach these also using small dots of icing.
That's it'! How cute are these little birds?! If you're making these ahead of time, make sure to store in an airtight containers so the donuts don't dry out. I used my cake stand with cloche which worked perfectly.
Happy Thanksgiving!
