Whew!!!! School starts here in our area next week, and while slowing down here on PPP a bit the last few weeks, I determined to really come up with a plan of attack in organizing our fall schedule. Here are the areas I'm specifically hoping to find more order more order in during the 2013-2014 school year:
- Cleaning my home
- Managing the laundry
- Menu planning
- Coordinating our family's schedules
- Blogging
After reading this post this morning, I was reminded that none of that happens if I don't begin with a plan, so here are a few tools I'm using that I'm using to keep myself in check.
The Motivated Moms app or printable sheets for keeping my house clean.
I really can't tell you how much I enjoy these when I keep up with them: my house stays in order, my family gets fed dinner every (most?) nights, and while I spend about 45 minutes to an hour each day cleaning, my house almost always feels under control. Â While slowing down the last few weeks here on PPP I really determined to keep up with these, and already my home is just so much more manageable! Right now you can get the app for the rest of 2013 for just $3.99, and while I normally don't pay for apps, this one is worth every penny.
Managing our laundry Â
I'm so much happier when I keep up with our laundry each day, so this week I've worked on getting back to my old routine. Right now our laundry is completely caught up on (woohoo!) and we even all have clean sheets. (A regular modern day miracle around here.) 😉
Cozi App (free version) for our family's calendar and scheduling.
I've always used Google Calendar for keeping up with our family's schedule, however I haven't liked the Google Calendar app at all, so after so many folks recommended Cozi over on Facebook I decided to try out the free version. I definitely love how the app is organized, and am hoping this will keep me from missing appointments (I'm horrible about that!) I also love that there's an option for menu planning there as well, and am hoping to work a bit more to stick to a menu plan each week.
Google Tasks and pen & paper for Blogging
Right now I use Google tasks (find it in Google Calendar) as well as a good ole' pen and paper for making a list of my to do work here on PPP each day. I will tell you that I realized the last few weeks that I post a ton of deals to just fill up space here (hoping that you'll come back each day), 😉 including deals that aren't always all that exciting even to me.
My goal is to really focus on giving you GREAT deals that help you pinch those pennies each day, rather than cluttering up PPP so that I feel like I've accomplished posting 30 deals a day (it's just too much!) Hopefully this will help you and me both feel a little less overwhelmed with all the clutter that seems to lurk everywhere online and in our homes. (And, just maybe it'll leave me time to share more on budgeting, giving, sharing a frugal feast or two, creating a penny pinched home, five minute challenges and more!)
