Use this clothing hack to make the morning routine for school a breeze. Your kids (and your sanity) will thank you!
This Clothing Hack Makes Your Morning Routine for School SO EASY!
If you ask any mom you know, she will probably agree – mornings can be CHAOTIC with kids! When it comes to getting your kids up and ready, creating a routine that sets everyone up for success is absolutely necessary. We've got some tips and tricks to help your family's morning go way smoother so you can start off on the right foot! A little bit of preparation goes a LONG way in your morning routine for school.
Tips to make the morning routine for school easier:
1. Organize clothes AHEAD of time
A HUGE timesaver in the morning is having a complete outfit ready for your child to pick out and put on themselves. Regardless of age, being able to grab-and-go makes life easy! Here's how we did this:
Grab a hanging organizer for each closet. You'll want at least 5 slots for Monday-Friday. If you have extra spaces, you can put sports uniforms or a church outfit in – whatever works for your family.
On Sunday, take 10 minutes with each child to assemble a full outfit for each day including underwear, socks, accessories, and even shoes if you use more than one pair.
Then, each morning your children can grab a complete outfit to put on and you don't have to worry about whether they can find clean clothes, if they're matching, etc, and hopefully avoid any style arguments (if you have a fashionista in the family like my daughter!).
You can also use a hanging shoe holder or plastic bins from the Dollar Tree for this, too!
2. Have a plan!
Talk through the morning with your kids and make sure (as much as you can) that everyone has the same plan and expectations for the morning and order of events.
If your kids know that breakfast happens last, for example, it can take out the guess work and hullaballoo around what's for breakfast and when. They'll be able to walk through their routine confidently and efficiently and head to the breakfast table when they're ready to go.
PPP team member, Jamie, said a key to successful mornings when her FOUR boys were in school was to prep breakfasts for the week on Sunday and freeze. Making big batches of pancakes, waffles, or egg muffins is a great idea and easy to heat up on busy school mornings.
Making sure kids are aware of the plan is SO crucial for a smooth morning routine for school. As moms, we designed a Chore Chart for Kids that helps kids of all ages stay on track with their routine. And we've found that our kids love to check things off a list as much as we do!
3. Control the Chaos
When mom feels in control, the whole house seems to run better! Make sure to grab your Home Planner and follow your own morning routine using the daily AM checklist, plan your meals, and factor in any moving pieces for the day like appointments, extra curriculars, and deadlines.
PPP team member, Laura, said she feels like the captain of her ship when she uses her Home Planner every morning (even if she's captaining a sinking ship some days!) to guide the day and start herself off right.
Prep, Prep, Prep!
One thing ALL of our PPP team members agreed on when giving this advice was to prep as much as you can the night before school. Maybe it's prepping lunches for the week on Sunday, or laying out lunchboxes with backpacks packed for kids to easily grab and head out.

Check out this super easy Fridge Grab-N-Go station team member, Kristen, set up so her kids can pack their lunches themselves and have some say in what they get. So genius – and I love that mom still controls what foods go into the bins but kids can learn to use their discretion and preferences when packing.
We'd love to hear – what are YOUR favorite tips and tricks to help mornings run smoothly at your house?

I was trying to get the backpack. How did you get it for the cheaper pay? Was there a code?
