I've done a terrible job sharing here all the updates for the More Money in March Challenge, but I so hope you've followed along and been encouraged long the way when we've shared on Facebook Live each day!
Today we're talking about what is your one store.
The grocery store that's relatively close to you.
Has decent coupon deals.
Pretty good sale prices on meat and produce.
And that's relatively convenient to shop too.
I have a CVS, Walgreens, Aldi, Walmart, Meijer, Fresh Thyme and Giant Eagle within 15 minutes of my house, but I almost only shop at Kroger.
(I will occasionally go to Aldi or Fresh Thyme for their double ad sales day, but I really do love Kroger for almost everything, because it makes my life easy!)
After twelve years of couponing I've realized my time is valuable, and I know that *most* things go on sale at all the stores over the course of six weeks.
So to make my life as a working wife, mom, and penny pincher manageable, I focus on shopping at the one store that has a great coupon policy and also happens to be closest to my house – I don't even look at the ads elsewhere because I'm all about staying focused these days!
do miss out on some deals at CVS (I really feel like that's the only one I miss much at right now . . .), but for me that's really okay.  (Now, for my friend Shannon who's addicted to CVS, that would not be okay – she's a CVS rockstar and gets tons of great deals there in addition to shopping Publix and Kroger too sometimes!)
Here's exactly what I do to prepare to shop each week:
  • I “shop” my pantry, fridge and freezer and make a menu plan using what I already have at home (remember, I use Eat at Home Menu Plans Freezer Meals so those save me a ton each week!)
  • I add things to my list that I'm missing as well as fresh produce, salad, milk bread and eggs (we almost always need those!)
  • I glance through the Kroger deals over HERE and print any coupons that I'll need for that shopping trip
  • I check my digital Kroger coupons to see if there's anything there that I don't want to miss
  • I shop and spend usually less than $100 per week on groceries for our family of 4 (or 5 ~ depending on whether or not my college kiddo is home for the weekend!)
My challenge for you today is to determine your one store, do research online and decide how to really shop well at that one store only for the rest of March.
Here are a few links that should help get you started:

Saving money doesn't have to be hard (I promise!) and it is so worth it when you just decide it's what you reallywant to do each week. Determine which store you're going to pick to shop at that will give you the most bang for your buck, and try shopping there to see how you can save. I promise it will change how your grocery budget looks!
