Summer Movies for Kids

Every summer, when my kids were younger, about 4 days into break we would reach the point that the kids would start announcing that they're B.O.R.E.D. That's why I LOVED having a few activities in my arsenal to break up the week.

These discounted summer movies for kids are a great way to have a fun summer outing on a budget!  Here are the summer lineups for nationwide as well as some large regional theaters.

Cinemark – Kids Clubhouse –  $1.75 Movie Tickets

Starting the week of June 10 through August 15, Cinemark is bringing back their 2025 summer Movie Clubhouse for Kids – where you can purchase tickets for just $1.75 each!  You can also get a discount on snacks – $1 off kids snack packs and specials on the “any size” popcorn and drink combos too. 

Note that this IS only available at participating theaters so check the website to see if your local theatre is included! 

Here are some of the show features they're planning: 

• June 2-5: The Bad Guys
• June 9-12: The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water
• June 16-19: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
• June 23-26: Shrek 2
• June 30-July 3: Despicable Me 4
• July 7-10: Kung Fu Panda 4
• July 14-17: The Wild Robot
• July 21-24: Sonic: The Hedgehog 3
• July 28-31: The Garfield Movie
• August 4-7: The Lego Batman Movie

They also offer some other discounts every day – so certainly take advantage of those if you have a Cinemark theatre near you.

• Cinemark Movie Club – 20% off concessions, waived online fees, and one 2D ticket per month
• Cinemark SuperSavers – Save on concessions and tickets
• Early Bird Discounts – Arrive for a movie before 1 PM and get a discount!
• Discount Tuesdays – Bring the whole family for discounted tickets
• Cinemark Senior Day – Special discount pricing for Seniors
• Student Discount – Show your student ID and get a discounted ticket
• Discount Family Day – This is typically on Mondays – Check your local theatre for exact costs

Regal Cinemas – $1 Movie Tickets

In 2024, Regal Cinemas offered $2 Admission on Tuesdays & Wednesdays ALL summer long to certain kids movies   Looks like this year they are bringing it back for for $1! We can't wait to see what movie lineup will be.

Schedules will vary based on times that your local theatre opens, so be sure to check the Regal Cinemas Summer Movie Schedule and see what your theatre is offering.

Regal has some discounts and promotions running year round too – these might help out if you have older kiddos or a large family: 

• Regal Unlimited – Limitless movies for as low as $18.99 a month!
• Disney Team Up – Earn extra credits from specific Disney movies watched at Regal Cinemas
• IMAX Triple Crown – Use your Regal Crown Card to buy 2 IMAX movies and get $10 off your 3rd ticket
• Regal Value Days –  Every Tuesday, Regal Crown Club members can enjoy discounted ticket prices and 50% off popcorn; Every Monday, Crown Club members can get 25% off candy

AMC Theatres – Summer Movie Camp for Kids with $3 tickets!

This has not been announced for 2025, but here's a look at what we saw in 2024!

For 2024,  AMC is kicking off a Summer Movie Camp for Kids!

Beginning June 24, 2024, ticket prices will be $3 for these features – a great way to beat the heat and enjoy a movie! 

Here are the movies you can look forward to seeing at these summer discounts for 2024: 

• June 24 and June 26: Minions: The Rise of Gru
• July 1 and 3: The Lorax
• July 8 and 10: Sing
• July 15 and 17: Sing 2
• July 22 and 24: The Secret Life of Pets
• July 29 and 31: Migration
• August 5 and 7: Despicable Me 2
• August 12 and 14: Despicable Me 3

Like Cinemark, AMC offers some discounts available all year long that you may want to take advantage of:

• Discount Tuesdays – Become an AMC Stub Member to get this discount – this is valid for ANY showing on Tuesdays and you can also get a $5 Concession Cameo Bundle (popcorn and drink) on Tuesdays
• Discount Tickets before 5 pm – You can get a 30% discount on tickets EVERY DAY as long as your showing starts before 5 PM
• Student Discount – Show your student ID and get a discounted ticket
• Military Discount – Show your Military ID and get a discounted ticket
• $5 Fan Faves – Get a ticket for $5 for fan favorite movies (varies by location)

UEC Theaters – Kids $1 Summer Movie Lineup

Here's what we saw in 2024! We're keeping an eye out for a 2025 announcement.

Starting June 12, Kids Movie Tickets are just $1 every Wednesday at 10am!  The movie lineup will follow this schedule:

• Despicable Me – June 12
• Minions Rise of Gru – June 19
• Migration – June 26
• Trolls Band Together – July 10
• How To Train Your Dragon – July 17
• Shrek 2 – July 24

UEC has some discounts and promotions running year round too – these might help out if you have older kiddos or a large family: 

• Bargain Tuesdays  – $6 will get you a Movie Ticket and a Small Popcorn (with your loyalty card) all day long!

Other Kids Summer Movie Promotions

If you don't have a national theatre near you, but have a smaller local theatre, be sure to check with them and see if they have any Summer movies for kids they're offering.  Here are a few regional offers we found for 2025: 

B&B Theaters – For $3 for Backstage Pass Members and $5 for Non-members, you and your family can enjoy 8 movies this summer, starting June 10th

Cineplex – They are currently running their Spring Break Movie Promotion. See great family movies for only $3.99!

Harkins Theaters – For 2025, get a Season Pass to see 8 Weeks of movies (8 movies total) for $8! It definitely might be worth keeping an eye on if you have a Harkins Theatre in your area.

Marcus Theatres – For 2025, Marcus Theatres is offering $3 Tickets for Family Movies as part of their Kids Dream Summer Film Series on select mornings, June 8 through July 31.

They also offer discounts through the week for various showings. (Plus don't miss the ULTIMATE Popcorn Tub!)

• Matinee – Kids and Seniors get a $7 ticket EVERY DAY before 4 pm
• Military Discount – Show your military ID and grab a ticket for just $7.50
• $6 Tuesdays 
• Marcus Passport – One ticket to every movie playing
• $7.50 Student Thursdays – Valid with a school ID
• Early Bird Movies – Movies before 11 AM are just $6!
• Young at Heart Discount – If you're 60 or older, grab a special discounted price

Showcase Cinemas – Bookworm Wednesdays allow kids to get FREE movie admission when they present a book report on a book they've read!  Accompanying parent and children 6 and under will receive free admission as well.   Note that tickets must be reserved online or via the app.

This has not been announced for 2025 yet.

Megaplex Theatres – For 2025, get 10 weeks of Summer Movies for Kids for just $25 (That's only $2.50 PER MOVIE!).  This is one of the best promos we have seen, so definitely hop on this one if you have a Megaplex near you 🙂   They do have a few restrictions to keep in mind, so check those out before heading out so you know what to expect.

Phoenix Theatres – This is an AWESOME one if you have one of these theaters in your area.  For 2025, you can see FREE kids movies on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 10 am.  Doors open at 9 am those days and there are specials on food and drink too. It is select showings but perfect if you're looking for something to do!

If your family loves spending time together watching movies – you also might want to consider a video projector and outdoor movie screen (or one like this!) so you can make backyard movie nights a new tradition 🙂
