Every summer, when my kids were younger, about 4 days into break we would reach the point that the kids would start announcing that they’re B.O.R.E.D. That’s why I LOVED having a few activities in my arsenal to break up the week.
Looking for a fun and affordable way to keep the kids entertained this summer? These discounted family-friendly movies are the perfect budget-friendly outing! Take a look at the summer movie lineups from theaters across the country, including some of the largest regional chains.
And, check out all of the spots where kids eat free—perfect for when popcorn just isn’t enough!
Cinemark – Kids Clubhouse – $1.75 Movie Tickets
Starting the week of June 1 through August 6, Cinemark is bringing back their 2026 summer Movie Clubhouse for Kids – where you can purchase tickets for just $1.75 each! You can also get a discount on snacks – $1 off kids snack packs and specials on the “any size” popcorn and drink combos too.
Note that this IS only available at participating theaters so check the website to see if your local theatre is included!
Here are some of the show features they’re planning:
- June 1 – 4: Paddington
- June 8 – 11: Sonic the Hedgehog
- June 15 – 18: K-Pop Demon Hunters Sing-Along
- June 22 – 25: Shrek – Forever After
- June 29 – July 2: The Spongebob Movie – Search for Squarepants
- July 6 – 9: The Minecraft Movie
- July 13 – 16: Dog Man
- July 20 – 23: How to Train Your Dragon
- July 27 – 30: The Bad Guys 2
- August 3 – 6: Gabby’s Dollhouse – The Movie
They also offer some other discounts every day – so certainly take advantage of those if you have a Cinemark theatre near you.

- Cinemark SuperSavers – Save on concessions and tickets
- Early Bird Discounts – Arrive for a movie before 1 PM and get a discount!
- Discount Tuesdays – Bring the whole family for discounted tickets
- Cinemark Senior Day – Special discount pricing for Seniors
- Student Discount – Show your student ID and get a discounted ticket
- Discount Family Day – This is typically on Mondays – Check your local theatre for exact costs

Regal Cinemas – $1 Movie Tickets
Regal Cinemas offers $1 Admission on Tuesdays and Wednesdays all summer long from June 10 – August 6 to select kids’ movies. Check out this fun movie line-up!
Schedules will vary based on the times that your local theatre opens, so be sure to check the Regal Cinemas Summer Movie Schedule and see what your theatre is offering.
Regal has some discounts and promotions running year round too – these might help out if you have older kiddos or a large family:
- Regal Unlimited – Limitless movies for as low as $18.99 a month!
- Disney Team Up – Earn extra credits from specific Disney movies watched at Regal Cinemas
- IMAX Triple Crown – Use your Regal Crown Card to buy 2 IMAX movies and get $10 off your 3rd ticket
- Regal Value Days – Every Tuesday, Regal Crown Club members can enjoy discounted ticket prices and 50% off popcorn; Every Monday, Crown Club members can get 25% off candy
AMC Theatres – $3 Movie Tickets
While it hasn’t been officially announced yet, AMC Theatres is reportedly bringing back its popular Summer Movie Camp for 2026, and it’s such a fun way for families to beat the heat without spending a fortune!
Families can enjoy favorite kid-friendly and animated movies on the big screen for around $3–$5 per ticket at participating AMC locations nationwide throughout June, July, and August.
The Summer Movie Camp typically features popular family movies with special daytime showings on select Mondays and Wednesdays, making it perfect for summer break entertainment.
2026 AMC Summer Movie Camp Highlights:
- Affordable Tickets: Prices generally start around $3 + tax at the box office, with online tickets usually slightly higher (around $5).
- Family-Friendly Movies: Expect fun animated favorites and kid-approved films the whole family can enjoy.
- Convenient Showtimes: Most screenings are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays at approximately 11 AM and 2 PM.
- Nationwide Locations: Participating AMC Theatres across the country are expected to join in on the summer fun.
This is such a great budget-friendly way to keep kids entertained during summer break — plus it’s the perfect excuse to grab popcorn and enjoy a cool afternoon indoors! 🍿✨
Other Kids Summer Movie Promotions
If you don’t have a national theatre near you, but have a smaller local theatre, be sure to check with them and see if they have any Summer movies for kids they’re offering. Here are a few regional offers we found for 2026:
B&B Theaters – For $3 for Backstage Pass Members and $5 for Non-members, you and your family can enjoy 8 movies this summer, starting June 10th
Cineplex – See great family movies for only $3.99!
Harkins Theaters – For 2026, get a Season Pass to see 8 Weeks of movies (8 movies total) for $8! It definitely might be worth keeping an eye on if you have a Harkins Theatre in your area.
Marcus Theatres – For 2025, Marcus Theatres is offering $3 Tickets for Family Movies as part of their Kids Dream Summer Film Series on select mornings, June 8 through July 31.
They also offer discounts through the week for various showings. (Plus don’t miss the ULTIMATE Popcorn Tub!)
- Matinee – Kids and Seniors get a $7 ticket EVERY DAY before 4 pm
- Military Discount – Show your military ID and grab a ticket for just $7.50
- $6 Tuesdays
- Marcus Passport – One ticket to every movie playing
- $7.50 Student Thursdays – Valid with a school ID
- Early Bird Movies – Movies before 11 AM are just $6!
- Young at Heart Discount – If you’re 60 or older, grab a special discounted price
Phoenix Theatres – This is an AWESOME one if you have one of these theaters in your area. For 2026, you can see FREE kids movies on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 10 am. Doors open at 9 am those days and there are specials on food and drink too. It is select showings but perfect if you’re looking for something to do!
If your family loves spending time together watching movies – you also might want to consider a video projector and outdoor movie screen (or one like this!) so you can make backyard movie nights a new tradition 🙂
