Homemade Fresh Guacamole

This recipe for fresh, homemade guacamole is seriously the best ever. Every single time I’ve made it for parties, appetizers, or pot lucks, I am absolutely hounded for the recipe! And, I am MORE than happy to share!

Our homemade guacamole is packed with flavor, a little kick (but not too much!), and is the perfect blend of chunky & smooth. Don’t skip the fresh lime juice in this yummy dish – I promise you the taste is so different and so worth it!

Another reason I love making this guacamole is that it is a HUGE bang for your buck! Because you’re only buying a few fresh produce items and a bag of chips, this recipe is a show stopper for only a few dollars. It’s so easy to whip up – you’ll never buy store bought guacamole again!

Ingredients for Homemade Guacamole

  • Avocados
  • Fresh lime
  • Kosher salt
  • White pepper (YES this is different from black pepper!)
  • Garlic powder
  • Roma tomatoes
  • Red onion
  • Jalapeño
  • Cilantro

How to make guacamole

Start by slicing your avocados and scoring the pulp with a sharp knife. Using a spoon, scoop out the pulp and place in a bowl. Use a fork to mash the avocados to make a chunky paste.

Add all remaining ingredients and mix well. Serve with your favorite tortilla chips or as an outstanding topping for tacos, burritos, and more.

Homemade Fresh Guacamole

Prep Time15 minutes
Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe Hass avocados
  • juice from 1 lime
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp white pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ cup diced Roma tomatoes (seeds and insides removed leaving only flesh)
  • ¼ cup diced red onions
  • ¼ cup finely diced jalapenos (seeds removed)
  • ¼ cup finely chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  • Slice avocados in half and remove the pit. With a dinner knife, score the avocado every 1/2-inch, turning knife lengthwise and crosswise to form 1/2-inch squares.
  • Taking each avocado half, place a spoon between the skin and the pulp. Remove the pulp and place into a mixing bowl. With two forks, mash the avocados to make a chunky paste.
  • Add remaining ingredients, and mix well.
  • Serve with your favorite tortilla chips.

Note: definitely use fresh limes here instead of bottled lime juice. The flavor difference is worth it. Also, diced jalapenos in a jar are a big time saver here and work great in this recipe.
