Homemade Fresh Guacamole

Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe Hass avocados
  • juice from 1 lime
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp white pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ cup diced Roma tomatoes (seeds and insides removed leaving only flesh)
  • ¼ cup diced red onions
  • ¼ cup finely diced jalapenos (seeds removed)
  • ¼ cup finely chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  • Slice avocados in half and remove the pit. With a dinner knife, score the avocado every 1/2-inch, turning knife lengthwise and crosswise to form 1/2-inch squares.
  • Taking each avocado half, place a spoon between the skin and the pulp. Remove the pulp and place into a mixing bowl. With two forks, mash the avocados to make a chunky paste.
  • Add remaining ingredients, and mix well.
  • Serve with your favorite tortilla chips.

Note: definitely use fresh limes here instead of bottled lime juice. The flavor difference is worth it. Also, diced jalapenos in a jar are a big time saver here and work great in this recipe.
