If you’re following along in your Passionate Penny Pincher Home Planner, you'll see that this week’s home project is to organize your master bathroom storage. This was something I DESPERATELY needed to do! As you can see from these pictures below, I am a recovering beauty product hoarder 🫠
I also had a cabinet drawer that needed fixing, and lightbulbs that needed replacing. This bathroom needed some attention that was WAY overdue. I love how my home planner has a weekly home project schedule so that I am reminded of the projects that need to be done and so I can easily organize my home throughout the year!
So follow along as I get my master bathroom in order!
Some things to remember when you tackle a project like this:
- The first step to organizing is decluttering! Discard items that are expired, unused, or duplicates (like old skincare products, empty bottles, or towels you don’t need). This can be a tedious task, but when it's done, you can see what you actually have left to then organize. I realized I had a handful of items where I could throw the packaging away which saved space!
2. Use what dividers and organizers you’ve already got, before you invest in more shelves or containers. I had some leftover office desk dividers that I was able to use in my bathroom drawers to help organize my make up products. I also realized I already had 4 acrylic bins that I could use, so I asked my handy dandy husband to hang them for me!
3. Vacuum and wipe out your drawers. Get all those stray hairs and makeup powder spills!
4. Group similar items together (all hair care in one place, all oral hygiene items together, etc.). This step can also help you discover if you have any duplicates!
5. If space is limited, consider utilizing vertical space with hooks or over-the-door organizers. I ended up buying these slide out drawer organizers for under my sinks so that I could use up the space with stacking.
6. And now you can work on putting everything back! I started storing things under the sink that I wasn't using as frequently, then I moved on to things that I need easy access to like toothbrushes and skincare. I used this rotating makeup organizer for the things I needed frequently like my deodorant, medications, and contact solution. Pretty soon you will start to find an organized system that can be maintained even when you are busy!
Have you tried this budget friendly “hack”?! Use a toilet paper roll to keep all of the cords for your hair tools in order!
My space feels so much more inviting now that it's organized, and when I'm trying to find something now, I won't have to dig around my drawers or counter top to find it!

Laurie also did some organizing recently and grabbed a few items she LOVED!
She snagged The Bath Storage Edit for $24.98 and said, “I did get these and LOVE them – they were great! HIGHLY recommend this one.” Choose free store pickup if available near you OR get free shipping to your home on a $35 order or with Walmart+ (by the way – you can try Walmart+ here for 30 days!).
She said she LOVES these Mainstays Pull-Out Drawer Bins (Medium) too ~ they're $14.48. She said “They come in 3 sizes and are so so good! Like where has it been all my life ha 😉”.
Happy organizing everyone!
