Hey Dudes Sock Hack (GENIUS!)
If you’ve bought a pair of Hey Dude shoes recently and are looking for a way to keep them smelling fresh, you’re going to love this hack!
A couple PPP readers shared this tip with us a few weeks ago on Facebook Live here – and I think it’s easy, simple, and SO SMART! (It will probably work for just about any pair of sneakers with removable insoles ~ that you normally wear without socks?!)
Check out these simple, EASY steps to Keep Your Hey Dudes Fresh:
Step 1 – Grab a pair of no-show socks (make sure they’re somewhat stretchy ~ I’ve heard that Dollar Tree even sells these socks for just $1.25!).
Step 2 – Take the insole out from your Hey Dude shoes – or whatever sneaker you’re wanting to use. Just be sure that the insole is meant to be removed and is not glued in place.
Step 3 – Place the no-show sock over the insole with the opening towards the bottom of the insole, as pictured above. Make sure the sock is pulled tight so it doesn’t come off.
Step 4 – Put the insole back in the shoe and enjoy smelly-free shoes – that’s it! 🙂

This even works for kids shoes to keep them smelling and feeling fresh – especially in the summer! Bye bye, sweaty kid feet 🙂 My friend, Laura, grabbed these cute shoes for her littles that have serious Hey Dude vibes for a bit more reasonable cost!
Next, she grabbed a set of these kid-size no show socks. This is a large pack so enough for multiple kids to use this season. This Hey Dude sock hack worked perfectly for her kids!

Great idea! For my family I’ll need socks that are a little thicker or just use 2 socks per shoe. Our feet sweat & that will go thru. A hack for sweaty feet I’ve used especially in the summer because we get 100 temps with 100% humidity & some of my family refuses to wear socks is to get a thin pad that’s for your period, I like the scented ones, and stick it in the shoe. If your folks have big feet like mine I get the long pads & cut to size. I only cut off a small amount of the backing on the pad at each end to keep it from bunching or moving. If their feet don’t sweat you can use 1 for probably a week. In the summer we change them daily. Make sure if you try this to get one that is thinner. This keeps me from having to wash their shoes so often. And that wears them out even faster. If there isn’t much room in the shoe a longer pantyliner will work too. Thank you!!! OMG…. This is amazing… I bought the socks with the grip on the heel and they hurt. I was at work adjusting my socks when I came across this and did it WOW it works… THANK YOU
I did this in my Hey Dudes & it’s been a game changer! I was worried that there would be a lumpy feeling under my foot, but it’s very comfortable.

My sister and I do it on all of our Hey Dudes! It’s a great hack to keep them from getting a little stinky. I love the fact you can wash the socks as often as you want to keep them smelling fresh. I recommend a sock that is mostly cotton so it doesn’t allow your foot to slide around. Thanks for the dollar tree tip!

I did that Hey Dude hack a few weeks back on my son’s and husband’s shoes. The shoes didn’t smell bad. The guys were just complaining about how uncomfortable the shoes are. The socks have helped a bunch:)
