What is Green Monday?
Green Monday is the biggest shopping day in December and always falls on the second Monday of the month, which is today, December 9th this year! It's also usually the last day shoppers can get gifts in the mail so they will arrive by Christmas. (However, some retailers have extended that this year!).
It originally got its name back in 2007 when eBay.com reported that its busiest shopping day was the second Monday in December – making it a green revenue day for the company. Since then, the holiday has been used by many other retailers to promote last minute sales!
While a few retailers have already announced their Christmas shipping deadlines for 2024, we're already seeing many popular retailers extending the deadline past Green Monday or even a few days after.
Not only is today officially Green Monday, but get ready because Saturday, December 14th is Free Shipping Day…so get ready for some great last minute sales so you can get all of your holiday shopping done!! 🙂
