Flattering Pose While Sitting
We were recently on a team retreat taking a group photo and (as ladies sometimes do…) several of us were previewing the photos and moaning about this or that angle we didn't like. Let's face it – we ladies can be hard on ourselves when it comes to photos!
But one photo in particular was hated all around – and it was one of us seated on the couch.
Why? The dreaded Pancake Thighs.
No matter HOW big or small your thighs are – the moment you sit down they spread out and just look BIGGER.
My friend and PPP team member Jamie showed us this hot tip and I will forever remember it because it WORKS! I had to share it with you because I want you to love any holiday pics you take – and all the little tips help! Okay here's how to get rid of pancake thighs in pictures…..
Point your Toes.
Instead of putting your feet flat on the floor (or leave them dangling in the air if you're on the petite side) point your toes. Even if that means scooching to the edge of your couch/chair in order to do so. Going up on tiptope pushes your knees up into the air and your thighs move up and away from the seat. Which means they go back to their normal shape and don't spread out!
Here's my feet flat on the floor…
And here's with them on tiptoe…..
Bonus Tip:
Turn knees away from the camera
Turn your hips and body slightly to the side so they're not pointing directly at the camera. This avoids football shoulders and is just a nicer angle for most folks.
Here's another picture of Jamie showing us what this looks like as we tried to get a group photo this summer…
If you have any flattering posing tips we're all ears – share them in the comments and help a gal out!
