Update: I absolutely have loved this centerpiece, however the pumpkin turned into an awesome science experiment when we realized it began to grow mold inside the closed jar. Soooo, if you're going to try this one out yourself, I recommend leaving the jar open or possibly just using it for a few days during the fall season! 😉
Frugal Fall Decorating
Is anyone else just itching to start fluffing up for fall? Â To be honest, I've loved every bit of summer this year, but the minute I see a pumpkin I'm ready to pull out my fall decorations.
So this week when my friend Shannon sent a picture over of the glass container that she'd found at Walmart for $9.99, I knew I had to get started.  It's exactly like this one at Amazon for $9.99, just a bit larger size, so either one would make such a nice centerpiece (and combined they'd be beautiful!)
Now, here's my trick for those big ole' jars.  Instead of spending a pretty penny filling them up, use some of your stockpiled canned goods as spacers . . .
Then I just filled the jar with dried peas, popcorn, and a pumpkin that I picked up at Walmart for under $10!

I love decorating for the seasons, cheaply! I hate spending a ton of money on decor and besides, I like wracking my creative brain with new and fun ideas with stuff I have lying around the house. Most of my decorations for the seasons + holidays I make myself, it is just SO much funner that way and you can really appreciate the beauty of the decorations because you know that YOU made that stuff. You did a fabulous job. I seriously love it all! Thanks for the inspiration and thank you for linking up to Thrifty Thursday.

Laurie, I’ve waited all week for Friday Fluff Up! I’m just so bad at decorating, but I had told my husband this past weekend that I wanted to do some fluffing up for the fall. He said, “You wanna what?” So I had to explain how you have Friday Fluff Ups and what they were; then he was all for it! I think he thought I was gonna start packing on the weight for winter hibernation! 😉
Thank you so much for the inspiration and frugal ideas because I definitely don’t what to spend a lot! I enjoy these posts.

I am sooooo not a decorator Angela, but I sure do love pretty things (especially in the fall!) I’m glad I’m not the only one ready to fluff up, and hoping fluffing up doesn’t mean packing on weight this fall (what a hoot!) 🙂 Thanks so much for your encouragement!
