Postage Price Rise

If you mailed a package this week you might have noticed the price seemed a little higher than usual – that’s because a new price hike quietly went into effect starting on Sunday, April 26th.  The USPS issued a “temporary 8% increase” on competitive shipping methods like Priority Mail & Ground Advantage.  This increase will last until January 17, 2027.

The USPS filed this price change in March to “better align its costs of transportation with the market”

Transportation costs have been increasing, and our competitors have reacted with a number of surcharges. We have steadfastly avoided surcharges and this charge is less than one-third of what our competitors charge for fuel alone, so even with this change, the Postal Service continues to offer great value in shipping with some of the lowest rates in the industrialized world.

Additionally – the price of Forever Stamps is going to be jumping up to 82¢ this June… read more below.

Forever Stamps Prices are Going Up!

Heads up, penny pinchers! 📬 The USPS is rolling out some price increases starting July 12th, so if you’ve been meaning to stock up on stamps or plan to send out letters soon, now’s your sign to grab them.

You might remember back in July 2025 when the price of a First-Class Forever Stamp jumped from 73¢ to 78¢. Things stayed put this past January (a rare win 🙌), but another increase is on the way this summer…

What’s Changing in July 2026?

  • First-Class Forever Stamp: 78¢ to 82¢
  • Metered Letters: 74¢ to 78¢
  • Domestic Postcards: 61¢ to 65¢
  • International Letters & Postcards: $1.70 to $1.75

These adjustments are part of USPS’s ongoing efforts to achieve financial stability under its 10-year “Delivering for America” plan. For full details on this last price hike, please visit USPS.com.
