Father's Day Candy Gram Poster
If you're looking for an easy, last-minute gift, this Father's Day Candy Gram poster is just the ticket! It's thoughtful but fun to make, and the dad in your life is sure to appreciate it. Plus, the overall cost was about $10 so it's a great budget-friendly option.
This is a great DIY gift to get the kids involved in. Kids will love helping decorate the poster and come up with candy puns – as long as you can keep them from eating the candy before dad gets it!
Here's how to make this fun candy gram poster and all the tips & tricks we learned along the way.
Father's Day Candy Bar Poster Text
You can really let your creativity flow writing the text for this candy gram, or feel free to copy mine! After playing around with some different phrases and groaning at my own dad jokes, here's the final poem I ended up with:
Hey Dad –Â
We wanted to Take 5 and say you're the best dad in the Milky Way.Â
We love your dad jokes! You've got some real Whoppers.Â
We think you deserve 100 Grand but it's not Payday, so we'll give you Extra hugs + Kisses instead.
Thanks for making us such Smarties and being the Baby Ruth of dads.Â
We love you to Reese's Pieces! Happy Father's Day!
This poem ended up being very chocolate-heavy so if your dad/husband is a fan of other candies, consider making a list of the names first and then coming up with a few phrases based on those.
What You Need to Make this Candy Gram
Once you know what candy you need, grab a few other items and you're set. I used a foam board because it's nice and sturdy but if you have a poster board on hand, you can definitely use that.
I used a pencil to lightly write the words first, and markers for the final color. Hint – choose 3-4 colors and alternate the lines for a cleaner look!
Optional but super helpful, I used a long level (similar to this one) to make guidelines on the poster. This helped tremendously in keeping all the text straight and the lines were easy to erase afterwards. If you don't have a level, I still recommend finding a ruler or something long and straight to help make the lines.
How to get the candy bars onto the poster
I cannot sing the praises enough for these awesome glue dots! These little dots are SO sticky and easy to apply. Plus, you can use just the amount you need per candy.
These were definitely the best option I found and sticky enough to hold heavier candy bars like Milky Way, and easy to use a small amount for the tiny items like Hershey's Kisses.
You can also try double-sided tape, but make sure it is a really sticky variety. I would advise against hot glue juuuust in case so you don't end up with melted candy.
