Lauren Tried It – Here’s What She Thought:
“As a tired mom, self-proclaimed coffee snob, and former barista, I would recommend this espresso machine for someone looking to upgrade their coffee game at home. It was super easy to set up, clean, and learn how to use. I especially like that it comes with both single- and double-shot baskets, although I’ll personally be sticking with the double!
The biggest thing to know is that you’ll want to experiment with your coffee grind and how much coffee you put into the basket. I had better results using freshly ground espresso beans than a pre-ground coffee that was too fine. I used about 16 grams of coffee, as recommended in the instructions, and had great results. I also really liked the steam wand. It heats up quickly and is easy to use. Just keep in mind that you’ll need a separate cup or stainless steel carafe for steaming milk since one isn’t included.
Overall, I think this is a great option for someone who wants more control over their coffee and wants to use their favorite beans rather than being limited to pods. Compared with my Nespresso Original Creatista Plus, which is a much more expensive machine, I actually prefer this one for the ability to use different coffee roasts and manually control the milk steaming.”

If you’re new to making espresso at home, Lauren recommends having a few extras on hand:
- Demi spoon – she found the included scoop a little cumbersome
- Kitchen scale – helpful for measuring your coffee grounds
- Stainless steel milk carafe – you’ll need one for steaming milk
Lauren also wanted to point out that this isn’t the same type of commercial espresso machine you’d find behind the counter at a coffee shop. The espresso will taste different from what you’d get from a professional café machine. That’s not necessarily a bad thing – it just helps set the right expectations. This is a more affordable, at-home option for people who want to experiment with espresso, use their favorite beans, and make specialty coffee drinks without investing in a much more expensive machine.
Also, after frothing milk, you’ll need to allow the machine to cool down before brewing espresso. This helps prevent overheating from the higher internal temperature and pressure.
If the power and 1- and 2-cup lights begin flashing, the machine has entered protection mode. Follow the instructions in the manual to allow it to cool properly before continuing.
Is This Espresso Machine Worth Checking Out?
