Here is a simple and easy DIY Swimsuit Cover Up tutorial. You can make this simply from using an old sheet and some bleach!
DIY Swimsuit Cover Up Tutorial
Several years ago we tried out this super fun project, and I thought y'all might be up for a little fashion project this week too!Â
A friend of mine saw these cute swimsuit cover-ups in a couple of catalogs selling for around $60 and decided to give it a try, DIY-style.
Her version is made from a cotton knit sheet that just had been in the linen closet. Â She was able to get two wraps out of one queen sheet.
Here's how to make your own swimsuit coverup:
The first step is to cut the sheet in half. Â Depending on how wide or long you want your wrap, you can cut down the middle either direction.
Once you have your rectangle cut, you need to fold it in half again and cut the arm holes.
You will need to cut a tear drop shaped piece away from the 2 corners leaving a strip of fabric that will make the strap. Â You can decide how thin you want it to be. Â You may want to start with a smaller hole and leave room around the edges to try it on and cut more if you need it to be bigger.
Then she added a tie dye pattern using bleach. This is completely optional, of course. You may choose to have a printed fabric to start with or stick with a solid color.
That's basically all there is to this simple project!
Once you try your wrap on, you can decide how long you want your wrap and cut away extra fabric. Â Another option is to do the same project with a beach towel. Â It will not be stretchy like the knit fabric, but it will be easy to throw on after a swim!
Thanks Misty for this great idea (I love it!)!Â
