How to Make a Candy Bouquet for Valentine’s Day

It is so easy to make a candy bouquet for Valentine’s Day! This DIY is a fun and creative gift idea, and it is also budget-friendly, since it uses Dollar Tree for all the supplies.  Such a “sweet” gift for kiddos, a teacher or gal-pal!   Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you create one:

Materials you’ll need:

  • Four box candies
  • Glue gun
  • Tissue paper (or you could also use floral foam)
  • Ribbon
  • Bamboo skewers
  • Candies, granola bars, gum, other valentine treats
  • Packing tape
  • Small square of cardboard

First –  Make the Vase:

1 . For this craft we are going to make the “vase” out of four box candies standing up vertically. Hot-glue the edges together to make a hollow square.  Find a small square piece of cardboard (think of the billion Amazon boxes waiting to be broken down in your garage) to glue to the bottom of the four boxes so that nothing falls out.

2. Use tissue paper to fill the center of the candy box “vase”.  Floral foam is another great option, to keep everything in place inside the bouquet holder.

Attach Candies to Sticks:

3. Take your wooden skewers and secure your candies using packing tape to the end of the stick.

Assemble the Bouquet:

4. Start placing the candy-topped skewers into the tissue paper (or foam) in the middle of the box “vase”. Arrange them in a way that’s aesthetically pleasing—some taller, some shorter, like flowers in a bouquet.

5. You can mix and match different types of candies for variety and balance. This is where you can really customize it for your Valentine!

Add Decorative Touches:

  • To make the bouquet even more festive, I tied a bow to each stick. (Dollar Tree carries lots of ribbon)
  • I also added the cute Valentine’s balloon I found at The Dollar Tree to my bouquet!
  • You could also add a cute little love note or card tied to the bouquet for that extra personal touch.
