DIY Bandana Bracelets – Perfect for 4th of July!

Looking for a fun and festive craft to do with the kids this Fourth of July? These adorable bracelets made from bandanas and pony beads are the perfect mix of patriotic and playful.

They’re simple enough for all ages and make great accessories for parades, BBQs, or backyard firework watching. The best part is that the beads stay in place, so my kids don’t get frustrated while making their bracelets! IYKYK

how to make a bandana bracelet

How to make Bandana Bracelets

Start by cutting your bandanas into long, thin strips. We made it easy and cut 3/4 inch slits along one side and ripped up the seam for each strip. (Just make sure to trim the stray threads.)

Decide which beads to put on your bandana, and load them onto the bead stringer. Slide the bandana strip into the bead stringer and use it to pull the beads onto the fabric. If the strip of the bandana is pretty thick, you might have to do one bead at a time.

You can use holiday phrases like “USA,” “FREEDOM,” or “SPARKLE” to make the bracelets more festive!

Once you’ve added your beads, tie the ends of the bandana into a knot or bow to fit snugly around your wrist. We did a double knot. You can either cut the ends short or leave them long and flowy for a bit more flair!

Pro Tip! Mix in glow-in-the-dark beads for some after-dark fun!

My kids had so much fun making these bandana bracelets, and it’s such an easy and festive way to get into the spirit of the 4th. They’re also a great excuse to sit down and craft together! Whether you’re headed to a neighborhood parade or celebrating in your own backyard, they’re the perfect finishing touch to any red, white, and blue outfit.
