Emails have been sent out to each of you, but remember we’ll be giving away another five copies of the Total Money Makeover this Thursday. Thanks so much to everyone who entered!

I’m so excited to share a special giveaway with you this week! Each Thursday in April, I’ll have FIVE copies of The Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness by Dave Ramsey to share with five lucky readers, and know that this book can transform  your financial future.

My husband and I initially took Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University almost ten years ago, and it had a huge impact on our finances and marriage. While we had always lived frugally and stayed on a budget, the encouragement in the class to payoff all our debt (for us that included cars and student loans) and continue to live on a cash budget motivated us while working towards our long term goals. As I’ve shared before, it wasn’t always easy (in fact, it still isn’t always easy!) but being able to save, give, and live abundantly has made our marriage and family so much more peaceful over the years. We haven’t had any debt besides our home for the last five years, and the day that we paid off that last student loan felt like Christmas morning at our house.

Over the last month I’ve enjoyed reading The Total Money Makeover, and was again reminded of why we choose to live differently than what society tells us is “normal”. The success stories in the book are so motivating, and it reminded me why we make daily decisions to wisely manage our finances, no matter what anyone else does around us.  One of the (many!) surprising facts Dave shares in The Total Money Makeover was this:

“History also teaches us that debt wasn’t always a way of life; in fact, three of the biggest lenders today were founded by people who hated debt. Sears now makes more money on credit than on the sale of merchandise. They are not a store; they are a lender with some stuff out front.  However, in 1910 the Sears catalog stated, ‘Buying on Credit is Folly.’ ”

~ Dave Ramsey Total Money Makeover, page 23

I have no idea where your finances are today, but if credit cards or other debts have left you struggling with how to gain control, reading The Total Money Makeover is a great place to start. You’ll be challenged and encouraged to make wise financial decisions, and your financial future will be changed. I promise, you have the power to control your finances, and this is a great way to start.

So, would you like to win a copy? 😉 Here’s how to enter to win:

This week’s giveaway will end 4/8/13 at 9 PM Central Time, however they’ll be more opportunities to win throughout the month of April as we take control of our finances.

Disclosure:  This giveaway was provided by Dave Ramsey, however I have not been endorsed in any other way to share the giveaway.  All opinions are (of course!) my own.

Love your website & emails. I am trying to get out of debt due to a job loss. I used to be jealous of what people had, nice cars, big house. Now I’m jealous of what they don’t have, mortgage payments & credit card debt. I have read one of Dave’s books, but would love to read this one, I just liked him on FB. I have told many friends about the PPP, I even have my 11 year old son addicted to couponing.

  13. Mary says

My husband and I have been pinching pennies for the past 4 yrs trying to get out of debt caused by his business nosediving when the economy changed. With no money coming in, everything went on CC’s and now we have been digging out ever since. We are on the home front now where we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve been following Dave since then but have never owned his book. I’d love to have a copy 🙂 His information is invaluable.

  14. Gayle says

My ermployer just last week told me I needed to buy this book! I need a complete makeover as I can’t seem to get myself on a saving track, retirement is not so far off and I think his book would really inspire me to get going..

  15. Stephanie says

  17. Jenni says

Debit- I don’t even know where to began. I would love to learn how to budget and manage money better. Couponing is one thing. But saving money in an account is another. Student loans, credit cards and balance is a weakness of mine. I need more guidance. Therefore, hopefully this book could give me some insight! Thank you for all the chances to enter into your drawings!

My #1 goal is to be credit card debit free. I am close with this years tax refund. Should be there later this year. I’ve gone from debit free ( except the house) to massive debt (credit cards, vechicals, another home) in four years. It’s too much stress!

My current financial goal: pay off all of the small credit cards/accounts we have so I don’t have so many things to keep up with every month! (And, of course, to reduce our debt total, but I thought that probably went without saying)

  32. Ginger Byrd says

My biggest goal is to get my home paid off. 🙂 Then I can stop driving my 2000 Jeep and get a new “used” one.

  33. Melody Cook says
