Crockpot Cabbage Soup (The Original Fat Burning Soup!)
Variations of this crockpot cabbage soup have been around quite a while. You might remember the Dolly Parton fad diet where you ate cabbage soup for days on end….
I'm not claiming that this soup is a secret diet weapon, but with just 97 calories per serving, it's a great recipe to keep in your fridge when hunger strikes and you're trying to eat healthy. Or to help with hanger issues, ha!!

Ingredients:
- olive oil
- onion
- celery
- carrots
- green bell pepper
- garlic
- cabbage
- chicken broth
- tomatoes
- Italian seasoning
- red pepper flakes
- salt and pepper
Here's how to make fat burning cabbage soup:
First, sauté the onions, celery, carrots and green pepper in a bit of olive oil about 4-5 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook another minute until fragrant.
Next, dump all those cooked yummy veggies in a 6-quart slow cooker and add in the cabbage, chicken broth, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.
Go ahead and cover the crockpot with the lid and cook on low 6 hours or on high 3 hours.
Crockpot Cabbage Soup (Fat Burner soup)
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsps olive oil
- 1 large yellow onion, diced
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1 cup diced carrots
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ head of cabbage, chopped
- 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 14 oz can diced tomatoes
- 3 tsps Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
- salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add onions, celery, carrots and green pepper; cook for 4 minutes.
- Stir in garlic and cook 1 more minute.
- Remove from heat and transfer to a 6-quart slow cooker; add remaining ingredients.
- Cover and cook on low 6 hours or on high 3 hours.
