Crockpot Cabbage Soup (The Original Fat Burning Soup!)
Variations of this crockpot cabbage soup have been around quite a while. You might remember the Dolly Parton fad diet where you ate cabbage soup for days on end….
I'm not claiming that this soup is a secret diet weapon, but with just 97 calories per serving, it's a great recipe to keep in your fridge when hunger strikes and you're trying to eat healthy. Or to help with hanger issues, ha!!

What is cabbage soup made of?
Our cabbage soup has a base of chicken broth, tomatoes, and seasonings and then you add in all the veggies (onion, celery, carrots, green pepper and of course, cabbage!).
- olive oil
- green bell pepper
- chicken broth
- Italian seasoning
- red pepper flakes
- salt and pepper
Here's how to make fat burning cabbage soup:
First, sauté the onions, celery, carrots and green pepper in a bit of olive oil about 4 – 5 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook another minute until fragrant.
Next, dump all those cooked yummy veggies in a 6-quart slow cooker and add in the cabbage, chicken broth, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.
Go ahead and cover the crockpot with the lid and cook on low 6 hours or on high 3 hours.

How do you store cabbage soup?
This hearty soup is perfect to make ahead of time and keep in the fridge for a few days or even in the freezer for later use.
To freeze, be sure to allow the soup to completely cool, then divide into smaller freezer bags or containers for storage. (These souper cubes are great for individual portions!) Remember to label your soups with the item and the date. To reheat, it's best to completely thaw in the refrigerator overnight, then warm in the microwave or in a pot on the stove.
Super healthy…….and super yummy!! 🙂
