Gift Card Book for College Students
If you’re looking for a unique and thoughtful gift for a graduate that they can actually use when they head off to school, this gift card book is the perfect fit. (Snag your FREE PRINTABLE below to make this gift complete!).
Make this College Survival Kit for a high school graduate or when your student is moving in to college in the fall – it’s packed full of gift cards they can use throughout the year when the occasion arises.
Each page has a theme geared towards first-year college students. Maybe they need a little pick-me-up (coffee!), something to decorate their dorm room (Home Goods!), or they just ran out of deodorant for the first time and mom’s not there to restock (Walmart!) – this little survival kit has them covered.
These gift cards aren’t just a one-time gift. This book is a reminder all year that you’re rooting for them and thinking of them on the good days and the hard days.

How to make a Graduation Gift Card Book
Once you’ve printed your free printable, it’s time to collect the gift cards! The printable has some suggestions on locations to purchase but I suggest double checking what is near campus or their housing so they’re able to put every card to good use.
I would definitely recommend grabbing your gift cards from Kroger or your local grocery chain that may offer extra fuel points for gift card purchases. (My Kroger does 4x fuel points so on a large purchase like this I really racked up the points!).
Our free printable includes 12 different gift card ideas – use some or use all to make the best gift ever!
You’ll also need a 4×6″ photo album. I found this one on Amazon that worked perfectly and was much nicer than the Dollar store options. You could put a photo of the grad in the front or a greeting card with a cute design!
This gift card book makes a great group gift where many people can contribute a card or two – I would just recommend assigning gift cards so you don’t have many duplicates.
Assembling a Gift Card Book
Cut the printable down to size and attach the corresponding gift card using tape or glue dots. Then, just place each page into one sleeve of the photo album.
Our free printable has some blank note pages you can use at the beginning or end of the book – or suggestions for each page if you’d like (maybe your favorite easy dinner recipe for groceries, family favorite ice cream concoctions at Cold Stone, or a memory from family movie night for the theater slot).
If you’re creating this as a group gift, you can also have each gift-giver write a note and place it opposite their gift card like an open book.

This gift card book is such a great mix of useful and fun. I can just picture the delight on your graduate’s face when they flip through this booklet! This graduation gift is guaranteed to get used and will be so memorable for your student with a little piece of home with them while they’re away.
