Spoon Pie Ingredients

Spoon Pie Ingredients:

  • butter
  • unsweetened chocolate square
  • sugar
  • flour
  • vanilla extract
  • eggs
  • vanilla ice cream

How to make the BEST Chocolate Fudge Spoon Pie:

This spoon pie bakes at a fairly low temp of 325°F. So get that oven preheated while you’re mixing up the ingredients.

Melt 1/2 cup of butter and a 1 oz square of unsweetened chocolate over low heat in a medium saucepan. Stir often and remove from heat once it’s melted and combined.

Hand stir in 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract and 2 large, lightly beaten eggs.

Go ahead and grease an 8-inch square baking dish or pie plate.

Bake 22 minutes (do not overbake). This is important!!!

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This is so rich you need the vanilla ice cream to cut the sweetness, ha!

Add a drizzle of chocolate syrup if you have some on hand.

Chocolate Fudge Spoon Pie Recipe

What is a spoon pie?

A spoon pie is basically a crustless pie you eat with a spoon. It’s a bit undercooked so it’s ooey and gooey but still firm enough you can slice it.

However, the best way to eat spoon pie in my opinion is right out of the pie plate. 🙂
