How to Create Blessings Bags

If you are like me it breaks your heart to see homeless people holding signs up needing food or money.

But you might struggle (like me) because you think… if I give them money I do not know what they will do with it. Well I think this is a great solution ~ you can make blessing bags!  I simply gather items I was able to get at the stores for good deals and put them in a gallon size ziploc bag.  I keep them in my car so I can give them out when I see someone who is in need.  (Of course use discernment when passing them out. Make sure it is in the open and others are around).

Here are some items that I like to pack:

  • Water bottle
  • Socks
  • Tuna and crackers
  • Granola Bar or cereal bar
  • Fruit snack or applesauce cup
  • Crackers with peanut butter or cheese
  • Hand wipes
  • Pack of Kleenex
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Nail clippers
  • Band Aids
  • Batteries AA or AAA
  • Chapstick
  • Comb or small brush
  • Mints, cough drops or gum
  • Note of encouragement or uplifting Bible verse
  • Gift Card to local fast food chains
  • Deodorant
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Lotion (hypoallergenic)
  • Q-tips
  • Body wash
  • Tampons
  • Shaving cream and razor
  • Pen
  • Paper
  • Stamps
  • Hand Warmers
  • Gloves
  • Mittens
  • Hair Ties
  • Hats
  • Wisp
  • Flashlights
  • Q-Tips
  • Toboggans
  • Mini First Aid Kits
  • Washcloths
  • Mini Bibles
  • Manicure sets
  • Paperback books

A great place to start building these is by seeing what is on sale really cheap at local store deals and then building your supply from there.
