Shop Back to School with Staples Coupons!
Oh my word. I have so much to tell you about Staples!
(I know. It's that exciting, right?) 🙂
This is the time of the year when Staples will be rocking out some incredible deals, and if you don't know how to shop there you might just miss some savings.
Which I just can't allow. Because you're my friend and I want you to save crazy big this Back to School season. You're welcome. 🙂
If you're new to shopping at Staples (formerly Staples Advantage), these tips should help. And if you're a regular hopefully I'll teach you a thing or two too.
Let's get started.
10 Tips You Need To Know Before Shopping at Staples:
1. Become a Staples Reward member. It's free!
Just by signing up for Staples Rewards you'll get up to 5% back on everything you spend, that you can use on anything available at Staples (excludes postage and gift cards). Here are a few more benefits of Staples Rewards:
- Get free shipping on $25 Staples.com purchases (or on ANY order if you're an Elite member)
- Earn $2 in rewards for every ink or toner cartridge you recycle if you spend at least $50 every 6 months on ink or toner at Staples
- Teachers get an additional 5% back in rewards just for signing up for Classroom Rewards, and they can. earn rewards when other people shop for their list, too.
2. Watch the Staples weekly ad.
Staples offers a ton of crazy “loss leader” items each week in their ads, and these are the items you'll want to focus on each week. For example, during back to school, you'll find a lot of 50¢ binders, pencils, erasers, rulers, and other office supplies that you'll want to stock up on at this low price!

3. Stock up on their “less list” items.
During the back to school season (July – September), Staples has a “less list” section that includes dozens of school supplies on sale at deeply discounted prices. These prices are competitive with Walmart and Target, and such a great way to save during this season!

4. Get Staples coupons when you sign up for their emails.
You can get special Staples coupon codes in your inbox whenever you sign up for Staples emails. After signing up, watch for a possible $10 off $50 purchase coupon and other offers throughout the year to help you save on Staples office chairs, toilet paper, desks, paper shredding, office supplies, and more.
5. Sign up for text messages and get Staples coupon codes.
Sign up for Staples Alerts on your mobile device by sending a text message that says STAPLES to 555444. You'll receive up to 6 messages per month. In the past, I've received a $5 off $25 mobile offer and other special coupon codes just by signing up!
6. Watch your receipt for Staples coupons & bonus savings.
Be sure to scan your receipt closely for extra savings. I previously received a coupon on the bottom of my receipt for $10 off a purchase of $20 or more. You can use those coupons towards bigger back to school purchases to save even more!
7. Take advantage of the Staples 100% Price Match Guarantee.
Staples will guarantee their competitor prices and match that price (in store only). That means they'll match the prices of Office Depot, Amazon, Target, and other office supply stores! Learn more about their Price Match Guarantee HERE.

8. Pick up free or cheap copy paper at Staples.
At least a few times a year, Staples offers copy paper for just a penny when you take advantage of their Staples Rewards program.
We've even seen a few deals where you can get completely FREE copy paper after rewards! For instance, you might pay $5 for a ream of paper, but you'd get back $5 in rewards. Sweet!
(Be sure to check their coupons page for copy paper promotions!)
9. Don't miss their Lifetime Guarantee on Staples office supplies.
Staples offers a 100% guarantee on all Staples brand office supplies, meaning if your Staples brand binders, pens, backpacks, or other items wear out, you can exchange them for free. Plus, you don't even need a receipt as the Staples Center can look up your purchase by the debit or credit card that you used to pay for your purchase.
The binders are a little more expensive, but if your kids are like mine and wear theirs out quickly, it's probably worth paying more for these! Go HERE for their return policy.
10. Get 20% off your entire back to school purchase when you buy a backpack.
Occasionally, Staples will offer 20% off your entire purchase when you buy a backpack (in store only). I think their backpacks are a little pricey, but if you have several kids to purchase supplies for, you'll definitely want to watch for this promotion!
I'm betting you've found other ways to save at Staples, and I'd love to hear them (leave a comment to share!).
