Did you know you can create an Amazon Wish List and share with family and friends? This makes holiday gifting SO easy!
Create An Amazon Wish List to Share with Friends and Family – SO Easy!
If you have family that lives far away and they're asking “What do the kids want for Christmas?” ….. did you know Amazon has a SUPER easy way for you to share what they might want?
You have the ability to make a custom Amazon Wish List for each person in your family AND you can then share it with whomever you want!
If you have multiple people in your family, you can set up individual idea lists for each person, or you can just label the list something like “for the kids” and then select gift labels on each item so the gift purchaser knows who the item is for. It's a pretty awesome tool!
Here's how to get started with your Amazon Wish List:
- Get signed up – you'll be asked for your name, the name of your list, your address, when you are opening presents, and your state
- As you go to set up your list, you do have a few privacy options to choose from.
- Public – Anyone can find this list and see what is on it and what has been purchased by searching a last name
- Shareable – Only people can see the list that you share the link with
- Private – Only you can see the list
- Once your list is set up, you can add gift tags to differentiate between people in your home OR you could set up multiple lists for the family – whatever works best!
PRO TIP: If your kids have access to your Amazon account and you don't want them to be able to see what has been purchased from their Amazon Wish List, simply go into the list and toggle off the “show what has been purchased” button
I do love that the gifts can be sent directly to your home and that the gift list also allows you to enter the date you're planning to open gifts. That way you aren't getting gifts a month in advance or way too late if you're plannig to celebrate early.
Other unique features of an Amazon Wish List:
Once items are purchased, you can easily see who purchased, thus creating a thank you list (if you would like to use that). No hunting down names or addresses!
Each item on the list also automatically comes with a 90 day return policy. So if you get something that isn't quite right or is the wrong sizing, you can do easy returns if needed.
How to make an Amazon Wish List once your lists are set up:
Once you have your list set up, you'll want to start adding items to it. You can do this from ANY page in Amazon. Just view the item that you'd like to add, and then over under the pricing area (where you would typically add to your cart), you'll see two options. Add to list or Add to Registry and Gifting.
To add to your Amazon Wish List, select add to registry & gifting, and then select the desired list from there. Then your item is added and people can shop your list.
How to Share a Gift List:
Depending on your privacy settings that you set as you created your list, there are a few ways to share.
If you have the list as private only to you, no one else can see it unless they are logged into your Amazon account.
If you have your Amazon wish list as public, anyone can find your list by searching your last name.
The best way to keep your information private and still have others view your list is to set up your list as sharable. Once you have set up your list, in the top right corner, there will be a small icon that says “this list is shareable” (you can also change it easily to private or public here). There will be small icons under that text where you can copy a link and share, share directly to Facebook, via email, twitter, or Pinterest. It's that easy!
Go ahead and create your Amazon Wish List today to help make Christmas shopping easier 🙂
