These Pencil Pretzels Are The CUTEST For A Back to School Snack!

Here’s a fun and festive snack to celebrate the start of the school year!

These pencil pretzels are almost too cute to eat, and they’re just as delicious as they are adorable. Whether you’re packing a lunchbox surprise, prepping for a classroom party, or just want a creative after-school treat, these sweet and salty pencils are the perfect pick!

Do you do anything special to kick off the school year? I love making little surprises for my kids like this to help soften the blow of summer ending. Plus, I look forward to their smiles and the excitement of a new school year, too!

You’ll Need:

How to Make Pencil Pretzels:

Line a baking sheet or counter with parchment paper. Melt your yellow and pink candy melts according to package instructions.

Take each pretzel rod and dip the majority of it in yellow melted candy. Where your fingers are holding the rod is where your “eraser” is going to be. Lay it on parchment paper to set. This becomes the main pencil “body.”

Once the yellow coating has hardened, dip the end of each pretzel in pink melted candy for the eraser. Let them sit again on parchment.

Using a zig zag motion drizzle the yellow candy melts across the “pretzel pencils” overlapping a little on the pink, but stopping before the top so that you have an “eraser”

Using the silver edible paint, carefully brush a thin line where the yellow and pink meet to mimic the pencil’s metal band. This little detail really makes them pop!

Once these are fully dried, you have the most adorable and tasty back-to-school treat! These are so easy to make and they’re just perfect for lunchboxes, teacher gifts, or back-to-school parties!

Pro tip: Make a whole batch and package them in cellophane bags tied with ribbon for cute first-day-of-school favors or teacher treats!

You could totally add these pencil pretzels to this teacher appreciation gift too! The best gift ever!
