DAY 3, 4 & 5 UPDATE
I hope you've had an amazing week and started 2022 with renewed focus on your home and family this year!
I'll be realllll honest and share that this hasn't been my easiest week. I started out with the best of intentions to be a rockstar momma Monday and Tuesday, then came down with a serious stomach bug Tuesday night that plain ole' took me out.
On Wednesday?
I didn't do a single thing.
(I literally could hardly move a muscle. It was all I could do to hold up my TV remote, so I watched Dr. Phil and every other daytime tv show for an entire 24 hours. I had no idea Dr. Phil was still on TV after 30 years . . . and debated quitting my day job forever so I could lie on the couch 'til I died because watching talk shows I was pretty sure I would never feel well again. WHEW.)
Thursday morning I slowly regained some energy, was able to wash all the sheets in our home, caught back up on my laundry, and re-gained a wee bit of control around here.
Thank. heavens.
However, because I'd kept up with my list the other days of the week, it really wasn't a big deal at all to skip a bit and let myself recover. People constantly ask me inside the (amazing!) PPP private Facebook groups if they really have to do everything on the list every single day, and truly, it's just a guide to help get you get started ~ if you skip a few things a few days of the week, you can easily still catch back up simply with just a little focus!
So if you're struggling with feeling overwhelmed with your to-do list each day (especially during a season when you're not feeling well!), I encourage you to do what you can most days, and give yourself grace the rest of the days. I promised it worked over here, and know it can work again too.)
(And side note: can I just tell you that these PPP group are seriously worth every penny you'll spend on the planner in 2022? Here's one post that was shared yesterday ~ it totally makes my day!)
If you'd like to join in the community and get track in 2022, use the code BLESSINGS at checkout to save $5 on the 2022 Home Planner PDF files (which makes them just $11.95 ~ completely a steal!) Head on over HERE to get yours, and join me and thousands of other women as we beautiful care for our homes, families, and finances in 2022. I know this will be the best $12 you spend in 2022, and can't wait to meet you there!

DAY 1 UPDATE
Happy Monday . . . today's the day!
I am so crazy excited to start 2022 off with a 5 day long home challenge, where we take care of ourselves, our homes, and our finances every day. For the next five days, I'm challenging you right along with me to set aside a few minutes each day and really tackle maintaining your home, so that you'll have a little more space to enjoy everything else in your life.
Each day I'll be popping on Facebook Live at 8:30 AM Eastern Time, sharing as I check off my to do list, and I'd love for you to check your list off too right along with me. If you can't join me then, the replays will be available each day (head on over HERE to watch), so you can join in and tackle your days too.
In case you're curious, here's what my schedule looks like most mornings (remember, you can print the PDF version of the 2022 Home Planner HERE, and you'll be included in the private Facebook Group where we dig a little deeper each day too, but this gives you an idea of how each day looks in our home!)
Morning Routine
4:50 AM – wake up (I know, crazy, but the best classes at my gym are at 5:30 AM, so this girl's gotta get out of bed and get her day started!)
*SIDE NOTE: I realized this morning that today marks twenty-five years (EEK!) since I started waking up early and going to the gym. Except for the season when my kids were truly babies, I have woken up at 5 almost every single day during the week, which has been a game changer not only for my body, but also for my mind (it truly makes me a more cheerful person every single day!) If you really want to commit to a major life change in 2022, I encourage you to join me in this one ~ read more on my New Year's Resolution success story HERE ~ it's been forever ago now since I made that change, but it truly changed my entire life!
5:00 AM – head to gym (Mondays and Wednesdays I take a spin class, Tuesdays and Thursdays I do a Body Pump class + run 1 or 2 miles before class, and Fridays I do Body Combat – my favorite! My challenge to myself this month is to stay through to the end of the class to get in core workouts – I've been bad about skipping out on these as I've just been busy but want to make that a priority for at least a few weeks while life is a little calmer around here!)
6:30 AM – head home, pack lunches, tidy kitchen while getting my youngest off to school (this includes planning/prepping dinner, loading/emptying dishwasher, cleaning kitchen counters, wiping down kitchen sink, tidying main living space, and doing any of the chores on my daily chore charts if I have time
7:10 AM – shower, make bed, start laundry
7:50 AM – coffee, quiet time
8:10 AM – prep for Facebook Live (it stresses me out a TON to do Facebook Live even after doing it for a few years. I've finally decided that ever live video takes me about 1 hour of time from when I set up my camera and get my words ready, to getting it posted and on the main page. Whew!)
8:30 AM – Facebook Live (this week because of the challenge I'm waiting to do most of my “downstairs” work until Facebook Live ~ normally I do it while getting Reagan off to school but this week I'm waiting so I can do it with you!)
9:15 AM – finish up Facebook Live, put any supplies away, move load of laundry from washer to dryer, and finish anything else that needs to get taken care of in my home before starting my work day.
(Honestly, even though I enjoy “meeting” you so very much on Facebook Live, it is serious work for me. I feel like I'm on vacation the days that I don't do video, because I love the rest of my work on PPP so much! But, there's been so much value in doing live that I keep going every day ~ whew!)
Evening Routine
5:00 PM Make dinner, pick up kids, go to sports activities, fold laundry (this varies a lot depending on the day!)
6:00 PM Dinnertime, clean kitchen countertops, wipe down kitchen sink, set out fresh kitchen towels for the morning, sweep/vacuum kitchen, tidy main living space (um, if my hubby isn't still sitting in it!), prep meals for the next day
8:00 PM Finish up work for the day (I usually hop on to handle email, tackle any easy work I can get done quickly at night, send out evening emails)
9:00 PM Put Reagan to bed (I love that she's 12 and still wants me or James to read with her most nights!), do my nightly routine – reading, washing my face, and honestly spending too much time scrolling through FB and Instagram – mostly trying to keep up with just a few of the bajillion comments we get on PPP!) 🙂
10:00 PM Try to get to bed. This one doesn't always happen but I really do try 🙂
Because I've always been completely a morning person, I put the heaviest work of my day in the morning (pretty much I'm a zombie by 8:30 PM!) If you're a night owl you may want to swap the times you work on your heavier projects, but this is what works best for me.
(One thing I'm adding for myself as a night time to-do at least for January is to also pick out my outfit for the next day. I picked out a few for the week last night, because I realized that that's taking up way too much time in my mornings some days, and since I'm by far the most efficient in the mornings, I don't want to waste my best brain time picking out clothes!)
I'll let you know how that goes. 🙂
So, there you have it ~ this is what I challenge myself to keep up with each day, and what I'd love for you to join me in this week too!
If you haven't already gotten them, you can snag the2022 Home Planners and checklists right over HERE.
(We are ALMOST sold out of the Home Planner printed copy and won't re-st0ck until 2023 because they take three months to print and ship ~ whew! But, you can still snag the PDF files and print them at home . . . or at Office Depot – so far they've had the best price I see if you print it in black and white!)
I'd sure love to know if you're joining me this week (and really this year.) Leave a comment to share ~ I love hearing from you!

This has been a great change in our home. We tried spreadsheets for chores but since both of us are engineers, we tend to over complicate things and then they don’t work.
I did the prepopulated days myself for a week to ease us in and quickly said, all of us need to be doing this! We now have a family list that stays in the kitchen and we have agreed together which days are best for which tasks for us. We have a ways to go… the meal planning in fairly foreign to us even with cooking most nights at home already, but definitely has potential to help us save even more.
There is a lot of peace for me with clean living spaces and no dishes in the sink! Its so much easier to help hold our daughter accountable on her tasks when we stay up on ours. Its also not so overwhelming when some is done every day versus saving everything for the end of the week. Hoping 2020 is a game changer for us in our home.
I am even using the editable to help me at work too!

I’m excited about using your planner and being a part of the facebook group is very supportive. It is nice to know that I am not alone in the things that I experience.I’m grateful for the daily cleaning prompts, weekly prompts and actually I like the whole layout. Thank you !

I’m in for this week and all year long!!!! I was just telling My Mom today that for 3weeks straight I’ve made my bed something I’ve never done. My house is easier to keep clean with this schedule. I love it!

I’m in sounds like a great start for a great year

I’m in, but I have 3 small children and I am not a morning person, so my days do not look like yours! The closest gym is half an hour away and my husband works nights and doesn’t get home until after our oldest is on the bus, so even if I could make myself get up that early, I can’t leave my kids home alone! And I can’t do much cleaning until after my kids are up because we have a very small house with thin walls. On the plus side, there is not much to be done in the mornings as long as I’ve completed the evening list the night before since I’m always the last one up! My main goal this year is to get de-cluttered, so that rooms actually look clean after I clean them! I’ve been loving having a clean sink! It never occurred to me before to keeo it wiped down. I don’t even like keeping my dishpan in it anymore because it takes away from the shine! I am looking forward to watching the Lives this week–I always enjoy them!!

I’m in! Goal is to be a little more productive each week! I’m thankful for your lists and direction, it really helps this Momma out that has a lot going on each day and tends to get distracted so easily!

I saw your video two hours later but I did wake up at 4:15 a.m. My sweet dog Lucy needed to go out so I stayed up. I’m up for the challenge. Thanks for your inspiration.

I will be joining you, but will have to catch the replay of your FB live. I am so excited about using my new planner to help with getting things done through out the day and staying on tract . I work from home so I can work on things during my break and lunch time.
I got up at 5:30am this morning and headed to the gym. WOW how much better that makes me feel and how much more energy I have when I get back home.
Thanks Laurie and the PPP
Blessings for a wonderful year,
Chasity

I’m in it to clean it.. My kids are grown and I have lots of time to do my cleaning, I love having my house in order. It makes me happy. I have used your planner for a year now and sticking to it most days. I love the new version of the planner even better, room to add what the weather was like, and what was going on that day, or extra things you did . Thank you Laure, keep up the good work and keep us in line. I’ve already ready all of Ester this morning.❤️
Samantha Hodges says
I will admit it…I wanted to give up today. I have been battling a cold and I wanted too just crawl back into bed. However, that checklist kept me going. I feel like I finally am getting a handle on my house and life! I definitely needed this for this phase of my life with school kids, school activities, busy life!

My husband passed away in 2014, I’m a disabled veteran, I have one still at home. I’m starting 2020 with finally knowing my new normal and to be more positive I’m a work in progress always trying to move forward. I just want to share that when your normal is suddenly taken away and your all alone it has truly been a real struggle to get to this point!! So for anyone struggling These women made me feel like I was their friend even when I was hiding from the world these women lifted my spirits even if was just for a little while and for that I thank you ladies

Love it first week wasn’t so great second week I’m trying harder and it’s OK you’re a blessing thank you very much
Cheryl Toohey says
My biggest challenge is seeing the Sunday columns empty and not feeling like my whole week is ruined. But thank God for grace! This morning I exercised at home, with my husband’s work schedule I simply can’t get to the gym with littles at home. I showered, had my oldest do his chores (and knock off one of mine) before he left for the bus, help my youngest with her chores then we are running errands before going home and tackling my chore list. I’ve been so blessed to have found your planner it’s exactly what I’ve been trying to figure out for years.
Laurie says
I love that Cheryl – I’m so excited for you! I definitely miss the most over the weekends, but know I have all week to catch back up. Praying an amazing 2020 for you! 🙂
Rachel Buchanan says
I am in. I am starting my new early morning routine tomorrow once the kids are back in school. I hope it works for as well as it works for you.
Laurie says
Yayyy Rachel – you’re going to have an amazing week! Good luck as you get started!
Kristin says
I have to do most of my cleaning on the weekend. I have a stressful M-F 8am-5pm job and by the time I get home, I’m beat and can’t bear to think of doing a whole list of things.
Laurie says
Thanks for sharing Kristin! I try to get my easy tasks done through the week, but save the larger projects for the weekend if I can’t finish them. Do what works best for you!
Patricia Lackey says
Yes, I feel the same way! Busy morning with 7 year old having to get to school by 7:30 and me too work by 8! Then tired when you get home. You feel like doing nothing!
Angi says
I’m in! Just trying to get through the day by day as I started homeschooling on of my twins today (new venture that God has me on), and live a life that honors Him. It’s a daily and hourly rewriting of my brain.
Laurie says
I love that Angi – I’m so glad you’re joining me (and so exciting for you and your twins!) Hugs!
