You guys.
I’m so stinkin’ excited because we’ve hit 250,000 fans on Facebook. (I actually meant to post this at 250,000, but we're already up to 260,00 as of today!!!!)
Wow.
To say I’m just amazed is an understatement.
As I’ve shared a time or two before, I’m just a plain ole’ mom who loves to pinch a penny, and having 250,000 260,000 folks join me along the way is pure craziness.
To thank you for hanging out with me each day, I thought it would be fun to do an Amazon gift card giveaway. 😉 I’ll be giving away 4 $50 Amazon gift cards, and all you have to do to enter to win is share a few facts about yourself (because I really do love hearing from you!)
To get things started, I'll share a few things about myself (yikes!) Then just leave a comment on this post to share a fact or two about yourself, and you'll be entered to win (YAY!) Here we go . . .
1. I grew up in Clearwater, Florida. When I went to college at Asbury University in Kentucky, I swore that if I never saw another palm tree as long as I lived that would be just fine. (20 years later after freezing all winter in Ohio, I think I'd give anything to see a palm tree . . . .)
2. I started playing the violin when I was 8 and it's probably my favorite past time, although I only pick it up a few times a year. I taught private violin lessons to earn extra income when my kids were small. (I also did some data entry and taught preschool – anything to make a few extra bucks!)
3. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology. I was a social work major at Asbury before transferring to University of Louisville my senior year of college. (After getting married and realizing we really couldn't afford another year of private college!) Since U of L didn't have social work as an undergrad program I changed to psychology.
I always knew I wanted to work in a field where I helped people, so the mission of this site has been a crazy blessing to me. I tell my husband that I'm only legitimately qualified to work at McDonald's, so hopefully this gig won't be up too soon. 🙂
4. I type really fast. The only class I've ever taken that has had any real value was my typing class with Mrs. Stewart in high school, where I even won a state typing competition. I use that skill every. single. day.
2011 at the Alabama Governor's Ball – the only time I've every worn a formal dress other than my wedding. 😉 I think I was at my absolute thinnest there which is about 12 pounds lighter than where I am right now, so I'm determined to get there in the next few months!
5. I lost 70 pounds in college and have kept it off for almost 20 years. I still see myself as the pudgy girl (have always wanted to lose another 10-20 pounds), and my weight is a daily battle for me. I exercise at least 4-5 times per week, but chocolate chip cookies are my arch nemesis.
‘nuf said.
6. I married the first (and only) boy I've ever kissed.
(Seriously, he's the best gift to me and we have three super cute kids. I only dreamed I'd have all this!)
7. After living in Goshen, Kentucky (outside of Louisville) for ten years, my husband and I moved to Madison, Alabama and were there for 10 years as well. We moved to Ohio in May of 2014 and I'm still having some growing pains (but trusting it'll be home soon. I sure hope!)
8. I'm not naturally a giver. My husband and other folks in my family are honest to goodness natural givers, and I so wish I had that trait. Because I grew up in a home where finances were always tight, I fear never having enough probably more than most people, and work really hard to overcome this one.
9. I have amazing help here on PPP. Shannon is my biggest assistant (she's amazing and cares about each one of you so very much!) There are also a few other gals that work behind the scenes who make everything here on PPP possible. I could never (ever, never!) run this site on my own, and am so stinkin' thankful for them.
10. I'm a Jesus girl. 🙂 My girls crack me up because this is kind of the way they describe other girls when they talk about them at home, and I'm so glad to be raising a few Jesus girls (and one Jesus boy) of my own. This means we're so far from perfect, and only by His grace anything good comes from the mess that we are. I became a Christian at 9 years old, and some days am overwhelmed by the way He's taken care of this mess of me.
11. My brain never stops going. I constantly am thinking of things to do, struggle with wishing I could live without sleep because there are so many fun things I'd love to work on, and if anyone else lived inside this head of mine I'm pretty sure they'd jump out of their skin. (My brain seriously goes a million miles a minute every second of the day – it's ridiculous and probably some crazy form of ADD!) 😉 Thankfully somehow it works for me, but goodness, it's nuts.
12. The growth of this website seriously overwhelms and humbles me every single day. I really am just a girl who loves to clip coupons, and didn't know a single thing about computers, marketing, writing, or social media until starting this site 5 years ago. (Thank heavens for google – it's taught me everything I know!)
I seriously am in shock every day when you all come hang out with me (I wake up every morning even after 5 years thinking it probably won't last another day), and feel crazy blessed by the growth of this site.
Craziness I tell ya'!
So, there you have it!
Your turn now ~ I'd love to hear a few fun facts about you, because goodness I know y'all have some stories too! Take a minute to leave a comment to share and I'll enter to win a $50 Amazon gift card. I love love love hearing from you!
Thanks so much for reading PPP ~ I appreciate you each so very much. 😉
This giveaway is not sponsored by Amazon or Facebook ~ just a gift from me to thank y'all for reading. Good luck!
A little fun fact about me is that I am a huge Harry Potter fan! For personal reasons. This year I am surprising my kids 19 and 13 with a trip to Universal in Orlando for Christmas! I am so excited that I can not wait and can not believe I am holding this secret this long! I have everything planned out from “owl delvery” of their acceptance letters announcing the trip to custome shirts they can wear!
`I’m a 77 year old in my second marriage. First husband died suddenly of a heart attack. Met my second husband on a dating website and really like that method of meeting someone special. My fun fact is: I only spent 6 weeks in first grade. In rural Missouri in the 1940s the local school had only 4 students in all 8 grades and the teacher invited me to attend so I could get used to going to school. By the time school was out in April she promoted me to second grade. Another fun fact is that I earned a degree in accounting when I had four kids at home, did my husband’s books for his business and worked full time. Hard, but worth it. Learned that the kitchen floor did not need to be scrubbed every week–just scrubbed when we began to stick to othe floor!
Hi! Fun facts about me my dad is actually from Clearwater, FL and when he met my mom (who lived in MN they married and moved to VA.) I am a young mom of 3 under 3 with twin 2yo girls and a 3mo. Old son. I always share my fun fact being my mom was the Reynolds Wrap Lady in the Reynolds aluminum foil commercials back in the day! Also fun fact, she was just a regular mom who worked in the test kitchens turn actress (ha well we use that term loosely cause that’s all she’s ever done) Right place right time i guess!
My girlfriend turned me on to your page! It’s a huge lifesaver as I am a new stay at home mom and finances are VERY! Tight. Thanks for your hard work!! Xoxo
I wrote all my stuff about me. 12 things and something happened to my post. So I will go away and know I did not win. Heartbreaking.
Just found your site Where have I been? I am a mommy to 4 of God’s children, 10,8, 5, and 4 years old! My hubby is an electrician running his own business for now. It is fun. I like to call myself a realist. If a mom is ever feeling like a slacker they are welcome to call me up and I can give them a good dose of “Mom Reality”. My sink is full of dishes, there is a pile of laundry to be done and my family is fed and happily asleep (and this is when I love them the most). I love a place were moms can gather to remember we are all human.
I love your site and your finds at Goodwill. I have been blessed with 2 children a boy and a girl. They make me smile every day! I am married to a wonderful guy and we live in CO. I never thought I would live in such a beautiful state where I get to see God’s handiwork every single day!
I loved reading your little known facts. I am proud to say I’m a Jesus Girl too! I went to college in Pensacola and thought the same thing about those palm trees. About me: I’m a wife and mother to a beautiful 2.5 year old daughter who really is her mama reincarnated. I’m a number cruncher and nothing brings me more joy than flour sprinkled all over my kitchen and down my apron with the smell of something yummy in the oven. I love your blog so keep on posting and I’ll keep on reading.
lawd, I don’t drink, auto correct did a number with some of my post…hope you can understand it.
Congrats to you!!! I have followed you for about three years now and enjoy your normalcy most of all. wow, we have many things in common, except I have kissed more than one guy and a few toads along the way. I love and live in Florida and love my palms too. I have A double major, love the ocean and marine environmental studies. I am now divorced and married only once. I coupon a live in a small beachhead quaint cottage brimming with lots of my. Vintage collections, some I have collected since a young girl. I love bright, bold, cheerful colors. I enjoy cooking and entertaining, football, gardening and beach combing. Finally, I have one baby at home my rescue kitty Purdy Gurl. . oh, I love Jesus too and if you haven’t guessed by now I am a southerner, love being so and gab……ALOT!!!! I love clothes and fashion but love camping, fishing, boating and hiking more. I think this is enough about me, I feel like I am using the I word to much and feel odd about that. Hahaha.
just wanted to say thank you for doing this, being unemployed the information you post has helped a bit. I graduated with a BA in sociology because I wanted to help. I have worked with the homeless, Autistic Adults and troubled teens either court ordered to treatment or from abusing homes. Which is why no money and unemployed–high turn over rate and no experience in anything else! So this site has been a help and I and my wife of 17 years and 2 kids thank you for the little things.
I am 67 years old, and find that learning new things every day keeps me very young! I am a multi process person with a type A personality! I am always working on more than one thing at the same time, and trying to keep it all in balance. My son tells me that when I walk into a room.. I create a whirlwind… as I work to involve everyone in the conversation, and move from one person to another faster than anyone can keep track! (Hopefully that is a good thing).
I have learned so many good things from your website, and am looking forward to learning more each and every day…. truly, if you stop learning, you are no longer alive! I hope to be alive for many more years…. So much to give yet, and to return to those who have given us so much throughout the years… God bless all!

That is all that is on my mind. Thanks so much for your site. It has saved us a ton. I appreciate all the time and effort you spend sharing with us!
I was born in Panama. I lived in Germany when I was about 9 for a few years. I married my high school sweetheart and we have 2 boys. They keep me busy. In the past few years, we have moved from Washington State to California to Florida back to Washingyon State and finally Kansas very soon. 5. Lately, I do a lot of “man’s work” as my friends call it (run a tractor & skid loader, drive a truck and trailer, clean gutters, lay footers, use power tools, etc) which leaves little time for my hobbies.
6. I can be a girly girl when I want, but am perfectly comfortable & beautiful in cowboy boots, dirty work clothes, wild hair and no makeup.
I meant to say feel perfectly comfortable and beautiful- not am. Conceited I am not! Haha
My wonderful husband of four years and I live in Chattanooga, which isn’t far from Madison! I just graduated with my Master’s in school counseling from UTC and will start working in Georgia in September as a school counselor.
We met in undergrad in Troy, AL, which got hit by an EF-1 tornado last night (Praise God everyone is okay!)
I love to read and knit!
I am new to PPP and I love what I have read so far. I am retired after teaching 8th grade math for 26 1/2 years to a great community of people. God wanted me to teach there after I was a social worker in child abuse and neglect. That experience got me prepared to listen to my students and meet their other needs as I taught them math.
I am a new mommy to a 3 month old son. This fall I’ve been blessed with the approval to be on sabbatical leave to finish my Masters of Arts in Education with a specialization in special populations (at-risk youth, Autism, etc.) which works out perfectly to stay at home longer with my son. However, that means we need to learn how to pinch every penny possible while I take a cut in pay. You’ve inspired & taught ways to do just that! I love combining Cartwheel, my Target card & coupons! I teach 1st grade in a Spanish immersion classroom. Living in MN/ND all my life makes me dream of living any where more mild than here. Palm trees sound amazing since I’m always colder than everyone else in the room! I love coloring because I can escape the hardships of adulthood and feel relieved.
I really enjoyed reading all about you! Thanks for sharing and for the opportunity to win a gift card! Here are some things about me:
1. I’m expecting my 4th boy in a week and a half (so any day now). I have an 8-year-old and twins that are 4.

I am intrigued by storms, like tornados and hurricanes. I think I’d like to be a storm chaser when I grow up. Lol.
I have been a nurse for 12 years, and I am able to buy necessities for my residents/ patients due to being frugal and couponing. Some of the elderly I care for does not have family that visit often and end up doing without (so sad). I don’t tell anyone because some frown against it. Thanks to your site, I spend next to nothing out of pocket and make my patients smile.
That’s all for today!
Thank you.
Hello! A few things about me…. well I am a new mom! I had my first daughter on April 29th and u have never loved anybody as much as I love her. I absolutely love watching NY husband with her, he absolutely adores her and it just melts my heart. I am and always have been a perfectionist which I’m slowly accepting that anything to do with a child will never be perfect. I have always been very frugal (to put it nicely) and now with a new baby I absolutely love your site and being able to find new and simple ways to save money. Every little bit saved helps so we can get the things our little girl needs and have a good savings for her when she goes to college. Thank you for everything you do and keep up the great work on the website!
Sincerely,
Erin Galvin
I almost drowned in a pool when I was a kid… Due to that fear, I don’t know how to swim 🙁 After watching a documentary about bridges collapsing, I’m always anxious if I’m crossing over a bridge; for the possibility that it might collapse and I’m gonna drown because I don’t know how to swim LOL. After I trusted Jesus, I was baptized in the Caribbean Sea! (I lived in Belize for 7 years) and thankfully I came back up from the water 😉
Thanks for the chance!
About me~I am one year away from my phd in bioniformatics. I have three children, my son and daughter plus my nephew that I am raising. I am deathly afraid of bugs of all kinds.

Fun facts: My husband is a teen leader at our church.
We went on a missions trip to New Zealand and loved it over there! It’s so beautiful!
We love the Lord and we want to do our best to serve Him everyday of our lives.
The Lord has been so good to us and has blessed us in so many ways that they are innumerable!
I love to play the piano and have also given some private lessons.
We love to sing as a family!
We love your blog and it has helped me to save our family some money along the way! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and tips!
So…some things about me:
1.) I’m a sucker for anything sparkly, shiny, metallic (hence the email address).
2.) I like doing trivial tasks. I get distracted with tasks like this, when I’m really supposed to be folding clothes, washing dishes. Maybe because these random things (that don’t really matter), are different than my “norm.”
3.) I’m an extrovert, with introvert tendencies. I LOVE people and being with my friends, but sometimes I have social anxiety. And, sometimes I just want to stay home, away from people. (I wasn’t always like this)
4.) I have 3 children. None were planned (hah!!). But, of course, we wouldn’t have it any other way. They’re pretty fantastic. 🙂
5.) My husband is my best friend. He’s my favorite person, ever. Sometimes when I get SO MAD at him, it only takes a little bit of time before I can’t stand it any longer. He just brings so much joy and happiness to my life, that it’s really hard for me to stay mad at him.
Well, there’s a little peice of me!
Thanks for everything you do, Laurie!
-Maggie Horton-
Aka, “glitter-mama”
I live in the same town I grew up in, I used to fence in college and i have two boys
I watched my mom price compare and use coupons growing up, so it’s been second nature for me. I love to find bargains that enable me to give generously to others.

Love your site! I’m a wife and momma of three. I love to cook “real” food for my family and my friends think I’m quite “crunchy”. I’m also a crazy chicken lady 🙂 Oh and I am always picking things up with my toes (my hands are always full!) and it totally weirdos my husband out. It must be a mom thing!

Hello Laurie: I enjoy reading PPP especially the short and easy recipes. And following the changes in the photos you share of your family. Two facts about myself – I am an avid reader and will read just about anything in any genre. I also enjoy going to thrift stores for my books and pass them on to others when I am done with them. Congratulations on reaching 260,000 readers on face book of your site. God Bless you.

I teach third grade at a Christian school where my son attends. My son is now in 11th grade. I also work part time at Wal-mart. We are always busy and I enjoy your articles and saving information and by the way my name is also spelled Laurie!

It is my birthday today! 🙂
I live in PA and I have a wonderful husband and two daughters. I have attended the same Lutheran church all my life. My mom passed away when I was 16 years old from breast cancer. My family now eats organic in order to try to prevent cancer. I am an Occupational Therapist. I finally fulfilled one of my childhood dreams, to write a children’s book! It is finally published! It is called The Underground Toy Society and is for sale on Amazon!
I’ve lived all my life in Ohio. Grew up in the northeastern part, moved to Columbus after college for a little over three years and have been in Cincinnati for over 28 years. Work full time in healthcare, in the same capacity for over 31 years.
I have enjoyed your blog for several years, enjoying and learning from your posts. I appreciate your insight, inspirations daily. Keep up the fantastic blog.
I went from working full time in the corporate world to part time for our church last year to be able to be more available for our two girls. It’s been a challenge budget-wise but huge blessing stress-wise and to be able to be flexible! Thankful for your site that has been a help in saving money along the way!
I really love your posts! I’m especially grateful for them, as a working mom of 3 active kids I simply don’t have time to find the bargains that you do (and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed several of your recipes, too!)…so THANK YOU for that 😀
Okay, so now for some fun facts about me:
My husband and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary last year, and we’ve been blessed with three amazing children.
I have a challenging yet fulfilling career–as a speech language therapist, I absolutely love helping children “find their words.”
My oldest daughter starts college TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY (yikes!)
I survived teaching two of my children how to drive :/
I coach a middle school Odyssey of the Mind Team in my (cough cough) spare time.
I would love to learn to quilt and to knit or crochet someday.
My drink of choice is tea, I’m not at all a fan of coffee (bleahhh).
My daughter works as a barista in a small coffee house in our hometown, so she comes home smelling like coffee but I love her just the same (haha!).
I love alliteration (aka I’m a word nerd, haha) so I really love your name: Passionate Penny Pincher–so catchy!
My absolute favorite online store is–hands down–Amazon! If I were to win a gift card, I would use it to buy more things for my daughter’s dorm room (and maybe some tea for me, heehee).
Thanks again for all that you do, and for the opportunity to participate in your fun contest!
My fun fact, being that I was born and raised in Alaska, is that I have fed a moose calf from a bottle! I also started playing the violin about the same age you did, and now that I’m teaching it to my daughter in our homeschool, I’m hoping I’ll start playing it more. My husband (also my pastor) would like me to start playing it in church, so I have de-rustifying to do!
I love reading your blog! I never thought I would have kids, but now I have 2 girls and I homeschool them. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Recently found your FB page and website, and I love it! We have 3 children in our family, so I am always trying to find ways to save money, but it feels so time consuming to do all the research and couponing, etc.; your site does a great job of figuring all that out for me :). I teach ballet and lead a Christian Dance Ministry out of our home church, as well as working as part time book keeper for a family business.
I am a Jesus girl too … and a wife, a mom, and a professor. Pretty much every time you say, “This is the lowest price I’ve ever seen,” then I buy that item 🙂 I tell my husband, “My passionate penny pincher friend said it is time to stock up.” I appreciate the work you do!
My name is Brenna (that is a fun fact in itself haha). I have 3 children. I am from the beautiful state of Iowa, I lived in Florida for 2 years and now live in Washington state. I met my husband at a wedding in Iowa and he was from Washington. I am also a believer in Christ! I enjoy your tips everyday on facebook 🙂 thanks for sharing!
I’m also a Jesus girl 🙂 I love your hints and often pass them onto my sisters. My children are grown but I still try to make every penny count. I homeschooled and have been married 32 years.
In the 18 years of being with my husband we have moved at least 12 or 13 times. My husband promised that we would stop moving around and recently bought us a house. Moving all of those times was hard, but I’d follow him anywhere even if it meant moving again. ❤
Thanks for sharing! Just found out about your website in July! Love couponing, but have stepped back a little after having the kiddos. I’ve been married for 7 years to my wonderful husband and we have three kiddos. We are starting homeschool this year (so could definitely use some Amazon credit!). We have 5 chickens and a rabbit who free range in our backyard. I grew up living on a boat!
This was so fun to read, Laurie! I too married the first and only boy I kissed and wouldn’t change a thing. 🙂 And I started out as a social work major too, but switched to Intercultural Studies my junior year. Thanks for all the tips you share!
So glad I’ve gotten to meet you Mandy – and love that you married the first boy you kissed too! 🙂

I am an empty nester, but I get my fill of kids as I am a middle school substitute teacher! People say I’m crazy, but I LOVE them. I started working out this summer and have dropped 2 pants sizes. In a week I will celebrate my 30th anniversary with my husband. I love to sing and am in the choir at Community Bible Church in San Antonio! Thank you for all your work on this site!
I love this! So many great facts about you 🙂 And I would’ve never guessed you had been 70 pounds heavier before. What an accomplishment to lose that and keep it off for so many years! A couple strange facts about me– I have a degree in Accounting but only worked for one year before becoming a stay at home mom 18 years ago. And something else that people don’t suspect– I learned sign language as an adult and have been an interpreter for 16 years now 🙂
I would *never* have thought of you has an accountant Julie – and I had no idea you were an interpreter! What fun facts those are about you – so glad I’ve gotten to meet you in real life 🙂

I have been following you for years! I lost my high pressure job and figured if I didn’t want to go back to corporate craziness I better save where I can. So many times your posts have allowed me to purchase things I couldn’t afford otherwise. I’m Probably much older than your usual followers at 51. I live in Virginia and appreciate your homesickness for the South. I love Jesus too. Soooo excited my 5 1/2 year old grand-baby asked Jesus into her heart at VBS a few weeks ago. It’s the biggest and best news in my life right now. And oh I started taking hormones again and cried when Daniel Tigers mama had baby Margaret this week. Lol. Wish me luck with that! Thanks for all you do. You are appreciated out here

I personally just started following you but have saved alot of money with you and would like to thank you for that first of all. So here are a couple of things about me
1. I was recently saved a few months ago and was the absolute most amazing experience of my life so many things have changed in my life and so rewarding for me personally I wish this had
happened to me sooner GOD IS GOOD.
2. I was a smoker for 42 years and got really sick but i sat those puppies down and never once looked back I am completely smoke free feeling great but never could have done it without Jesus giving me the strength to conquer…I AM OF ME AND PROUD TO SAY I LOVE THE LORD

I married my high school sweetheart. We just celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary. We have 2 grown and married children who each have 4 children (and our daughter is pregnant with their 5th). We have moved A LOT! We have had the privilege of living in a number of different states in the US (Arizona, South Carolina, Nevada, Alabama, Georgia) and also in Dakar, Senegal and La Paz, Bolivia. We have both resigned from our good jobs and are moving to California to caretake for my mother during recovery from a recent serious surgery and 2 more upcoming surgeries. Hopin’ California will be kind and my husband can find a job with benefits for us shortly thereafter. Thanks for letting me share and for the opportunity to be in the drawing! Blessings! XoXo
My husband and I just celebrated 49 years of marriage yesterday. I was only 15 and he was 19 when we got married. I will be retiring Sept. 30th after 30 years as our town’s librarian and I was just asked to be the Parade Marshal in our Heritage Days parade! What an honor!

Hello
So I am a mother to 3 and had for the past 15 commuted from upstate ny to manhattan 2.5 hours one way. I finally had enough of not seeing my family and in February I quit. For years I had a little soap hobby and in February it gave me the opportunity to quit my full time job and work my bliss. It is not easy. I see my kids more but still am very busy and I am just about opening my first retail store. Goatsinacoat.com I guess you can say is my fourth child lol
I am a new follower and have learned so much already!
Two facts: i finished college 4 months after having my first child. I have dug myself out of debt once and am finding myself careless and almsot as bad as a was before. I refuse to let it get that bad again! I am hoping my new approach starts good habits so i can be out and stay out of debt!
I grew up in SC and am a southern girl at heart. I now live in FL and am the proud mom of three sons. I enjoy your posts and have benefitted from your tips on saving money!
I took art and drama in school and my high school bought one of my drawings.
I got baptized at age 13 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and have never regretted it!
I married my best friend when I was 19 and almost 29 years later we’re still together and still in Love!
I am from a little town called Snead Alabama. I worked for Rite Aid and was a store manager before they close my store and I decided not to transfer but to stay home with my kids. I guess the fun fact about me isn’t really about me but my husband. My husband is a engineer for CSX railroad, which means he drives the train. We have been married 25 years, I prayed that God would send me the husband He wanted me to have and I believe with my whole heart He did. I too am a Jesus girl. I started couponing not because of lack of money but because I could save money and I thought it was so cool to get things so cheap. I have a room that we call our overstock room where all my coupons buys go in. About a year ago I got burnt out on couponing. I felt nobody appreciated all the hard work I did to get the bargains so I slowed down a lot. Since then my overstock has gotten the lowest it’s ever been and I have decided it’s time to get back at it and am slowly building it back up, I love this site and appreciate everything you do to make couponing easier.
I am a believer in Jesus Christ, wife to Steven, mother to five(3 boys and two girls), assist my bias ad in leading the middle school boys at church, teach a few classes at our local homeschool co- op, Classical Conversations Tutor, and I have snuck outside to check Facebook, emails and savor the beauty of the outdoors for one moment. Now let’s see how long it takes me crew to find me outside.
Thanks so much for this opportunity! Congrats on 260,000+ likes–how awesome!
A few things about me:
1. I am a closet thrill seeker–I have been white water rafting in colorado, swam with sting rays in grand cayman and sky diving in my home state of Virginia.
2. I am on a mission to visit all 50 states before I turn 40, I got 8 years left and I have been to 35 states and will go to 5 more in September when I visit New England!
3. One of my favorite things is getting real mail in the mail (no bills)!
4. I too an a Jesus girl–and volunteer at my church with the youth, we age up with our girls and mine are about to be High School seniors and I started working with them when they were in 7th grade!
5. Though I am an extrovert, I love time to myself to read and general read about 30 books a year–so a little more than one book every 2 weeks!
6. My favorite color is Pink
7. I am most relaxed when I am cooking!
Completely identify with #8. I grew up poor and it was often an unpredictable environment. It’s definitely shaped a lot of who I am. So two facts about me: I’m a control freak (I know I need to let go and let God) And I love, love, love books. The library was a sanctuary for me as a child. Even today, when I go in one, the smell and quietness calms me down. Personally, I own way too many; it boarders on hoarding 🙂 I’ve mostly bought them at thrift stores and at the library’s book sales. My sweet husband, of 25 years, knows how to make me swoon. Give me a brand new, hardback book over flowers anyday 🙂
Sweet post!
1. I live in one of the warmest regions of the country year round (Southeast Texas), and despise heat. But I was born here, and all of my immediate family is still here, and I’m too much of a chicken to move away.
2. I have stopped for more than 5 accidents already (I’m definitely my fathers daughter), to render aid to anyone injured. In doing so I’ve seen some of the most frightening examples of what texting and driving, drinking and driving, and road rage produce. I’ve sat with children involved in wrecks, and assisted a nurse who pulled up same time I did. I never worry about myself because I’ve been in their place after totaling my SUV, and know how much it means to have someone say “you’re going to be ok, we’re right here, who do you want me to call?”
3. I am insanely in love with squirrels. I live out in the countryside now, but when I go in to the city, there are some parks where you can feed them by hand, and I always have seeds with me, since most people give them French fries or potatoe chips! I know a lot of people think of them as pests, but have you ever knowingly stepped in squirrel poop outside?
I’m 36 and still live in the same town I was born in.
My husband and I have been together for almost 20 years and married for almost 12. We have a 16 month old little boy named Grant that keeps us busy!!!!
I love this site! I have shared it with many friends.
1. I am a single mother supporting 3 natural children, 1 grandchild, and a foster child. In other words, I need to pinch all my pennies.
2. I am currently a college student studying for my MBA.
3. My grandson loves the pirate ship you posted last week.
My two siblings and I were raised in a single parent household with little to no luxuries. I put myself through college a class at a time in my 30’s & 40’s. I had my first and only child at 42. I have lived in and around Athens Georgia for 47 years. Wow, has it really been that long! I currently live in the country and have 25 chickens, 3 dogs, a rabbit, a turtle, and a tank full of guppies. I attend a tiny little country church where almost everyone is related to each other in some form or fashion. Pinching, biting and chewing pennies has always been a way of life for me so I really appreciate your blog!
I am an Alabama Jesus girl! I have lived here my whole life. I am one of 5 daughters to amazing parents who raised us right. I am a single girl that hopes one day to be married and have a family. I am a super saver … Very frugal with what I buy. Love your tips and hints!

3. I lived in Marshall County for 54 years and now live in Palmira Abajo, Boquete, Panama. I never thought that would happen.
4. Like you, I was never a giver and have to constantly work on it. My husband is and I admire him for that.
5. I love to learn and explore.
6. I have two wonderful children who married wonderful people and now I am proud to say I am a Grandmother!
7. I love to be by myself. I don’t mind crowds but it is exhausting for me.
8. I love to travel and am more comfortable in small towns. Some of my most treasured memories are from those small town experiences.
9. My husband is my best friend
10. Lastly, for a very long time, I never felt any older when I had my birthday but always felt a year older when James celebrated his.

Whoops…. Typed my own name wrong. It’s Cherry as my last name!!
Hi. I am a Paralegal in Nashville, TN. I’ve been married almost 10 wonderful years. We have never been able to have children and because of that have spent a FORTUNE on treatments. I really appreciate your site because we have to save every penny we can. God knows we could’ve of bought a house with all the money we’ve spent on fertility treatments. And are now looking at adoption (another small fortune). Thank you for your positive, uplifting spirit and your helpful information! You always make my day.
My fun facts..
Even though I’m almost 35 I’ve been riding horses for 32 years and training them for 21 years.

I feel like I can always count on you for new ways to save!
I am a single mom of a fantabulous 11 year old little girl and monsterously wonderful little boy that will be 3 tomorrow. I’d be lost without them. Your website gives us some wonderful ideas and tips and we have a wonderful time on it. I love that you’re happily married to the only boy you’ve ever kissed. I hope to find that kind of love one day. Raising your kids to know Jesus is the best way to raise them. Thank you for sharing all that you do with us! God Bless!

I am a teacher so you know every penny I can save is worth it and even better that you take the time to tell me how to save. I have one fabulous daughter and that is enough for me. I teach so I think that I get all the children I can handle so one at home is perfect. I hope I can get better at this coupon thing and saving money I am sure following you will help a lot!
I do have great help Janay, but even with them I’m easily here 6 or 7 hours most days (except Sunday!) So glad you found PPP and hope it helps you save big!

Cheryl
Hi Cheryl! We’re just North of Columbus 🙂 So glad you’re here!
We are beginning the homeschool adventure this fall!
I live in North Carolina but never wanted to come here. I moved here with my husband kicking and screaming (and crying) because he had a job promotion. I am originally from Philadelphia and will always be a northerner in my heart. I though the south was not a place I could ever think of raising my children. But now, after living here for 10 years, I know I do not want to go back. I now love it in. North Carolina. It is a great place to raise my family.
Congrats on some amazing numbers! That’s awesome! Some facts about me? Ever since I was a little kid I’ve wanted to be a writer. I studied journalism in college but when I became a mom I thought I’d never make a living from my writing again. Here I am 15 years later with four novels and a fifth on the way. I still pinch myself every day. Despite my budding career, I am committed to homeschooling my children for the next two years when my youngest enters highschool. At that point I will have homeschooled for 10 years and it will be one of the greatest accomplishments of my life. No, seriously….blood sweat and tears and it was all worth it!
I’m not sure there is much interesting about me lol
I am married to my high school sweetheart for 14 years. I’m now a stay at home mom for almost 2 years now.
Even though I fought it when I was younger, I was meant to and love being a special ed. teacher (I thought I wanted to be a Marine)! My oldest having multiple disabilities prepared us to adopt three boys from foster care-and our lives have never been more busy or delightful! I love Green Day and my kids learn from a young age that when Green Day comes on the radio, talking in the car STOPS!
I recently found your site and really enjoy it. I am a mother of two boys and a SAHM. I love to cook and read.
I have a BS in criminology/sociology but I have been a stay at home mom to an amazing little miracle for almost 5 years. My daughter has Down syndrome and was born with a major heart defect that required open heart surgery when she was 6 monthes old. While I never ever thought I would be a SAHM I wouldn’t change a thing!!!
I was married at the age of 21 (it’ll be 10 years next year) and then finished my BSN degree. We paid off all our debt a month before we had our twins. I have been a SAHM mom since then and we’ll welcome another baby in two months!
I found your page about 6 months ago. I am a stay at home mom who lives in Ohio and I really love finding deals online, also love Amazon. I really love to use coupons, if I can find coupons for foods that are healthy because I don’t feed my family processed foods. Coupons allow my family to save money and have a nice vacation. 🙂
i just wanted to thank you for your honesty and transparency! The world needs more Jesus girls like you! I have enjoyed following you for a while now. I believe that I ordered almost my entire Christmas shopping last year based on deals that you mentioned! Best Christmas ever! I saved tons of money and skipped the hassle of the stores. My only problem is that I want to purchase so many bargains that you mention that I have to restrain myself!
I am a mom of 7 children and I live in Alabama, where we would gladly trade for your Ohio Summer right now! Thanks so much for sharing all your wisdom with us moms! I have learned so much from you and pray that God will continue to bless you and your ministry!
I LOVE your facts, bc now we’re connecting in a way! I was born in Louisville, KY & have been a Cardinals fan my entire life. My mom was in the Navy, so I’ve lived in Florida, Portugal, and Virginia. I played the viola from 5th grade until I graduated high school. I’ve been with my husband since I was 17. I have my Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. And I am a homeschool mom! 🙂
I LOVE THE VIOLA ASHLEY!!! 🙂 I actually played it some in high school and college (my youngest is probably going to play and I think I’m going to encourage her to start out on viola – or at least move towards it by middle school!) Thanks so much for sharing!
I’ve been following your page (and some others for quite some time to get good at couponing. One fact about me- I coupon mainly so I can afford the big things like traveling with my teenage son. You have to do what you can on a single income. 🙂
I am a mom of 3 girls, have one grandson and one on the way (due in Sept). My husband and I met in college and have been married for 31 years. I work part time for a major health insurance company, but the best thing is I work from home and LOVE it. I am new to your site and look forward to learning more from you, your hard work, and your wisdom. Thanks
I’m definitely a bargain shopper with sales and coupons and love your blog. This allows me to purchase many more things for my adorable granddaughter!!
Hi Laurie,
I LOVE your website. At the age of 38 I decided to close my in-home daycare and enroll in college. Without my income, I quickly discovered our family of 4 was going to have to start cutting back on expenses and follow a strict budget. I started couponing and discovered your website. After graduating college, I began working full time and now I recommend your website to my co-workers who say they don’t have time to coupon. Your lists make it so fast & simple for me to continue to save money. I also love your recipes!! Thank you for all your hard work 🙂
I too am a Jesus girl and proud of it. I love to bake, but don’t do so much now days because the older I get the more baked goods adhere to my backside. Always have at least 20 pounds I need to lose and it is a daily battle for me. Love your blog and all the wonderful tips. You rock!
I’m not sure how long I’ve followed your page but not a day goes by that I don’t check it to see what deals I need to check out that day. I worked at a university student health center for 8 years. Now I’m a stay at home Mom. When I found out I was pregnant with my 3rd child I felt God was calling me to stay home with my kids. Little did I know he was preparing me. My son was 5 weeks old and my daughter who was 20 months old ended up in the hospital for 2 weeks. Long story short she was diagnosed with a seizure and chromosome disorder. God was preparing me to take care of my newborn son and my 20 month old daughter who needed me. I’m so thankful I can stay home and even more thankful when I can punch a penny or two. So thanks for all the great tips. I would never have saved this much without you guys.
I love to paint canvas. I would like to sell them but do am scared others will not like them. I am also clean after being addicted to pain killers for over a year when I was younger.
My facts are:
1. I was blessed to finally meet my brother and sister in person last year.
2. I have finally started my own photography business…sort of. It’s a dream come true. 🙂
3. My husband is almost finished with nursing school. We can’t wait! Doing college is tough for the whole family when there are four homeschooled kids and two mid-30s parents. 😉
I am a Midwest girl born and raised and couldn’t imagine it any other way. Have been married 23 years and raising a 20 year old son and a 16 year old daughter. I work full-time to help put my children thru college and provide for retirement. I love all the tips I learn from your site and put many into play.
I am a SAHMama with my almost 1 year old, who was a miracle baby. My husband and I were married for 8 years before we conceived him, and I am loving every minute with him. This blog helps me to be at home with him!
My mom was a SAHM and when I was young, I thought it was normal. Now I’m 31 with 2 children, and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t wish I could stay home with my girls. We all love your site, keep up the good work.
I love your site! I have my Microbiology and Molecular Genetics Master’s degree, am in love with office supplies, love to garden and cook, and work full time. I have a hubby, puppy, and kitty 🙂
Fun fact: My family went from four to six with our blessings of twins. However my grocery budget has stayed the same. I’m always looking for new money saving ideas that can help my family thrive.
1. I have spent half my life in the south and half of my adult life in the north! I can see the best of both worlds. But my heart is really at home in the south.
2. I have 3 wonderful children. Maddie is 18 and heading off to college (Albany, GA) in 1 week. Dillon and Garret are 15 year old twin boys. They will be sophomores in HS. Where did the time go?
3. I LOVE to take pictures. I like unusual and creative pictures. I make my kids pose and do crazy things. They are “over it” but I still keep on snapping. I am not confident enough to be a professional photographer but secretly wish I was. Maybe i should work towards this goal.
4. I hate to cook but love to bake.
5. I met Laurie before she was the PPP and just thought she was such a wonderful person. I followed PPP from way back but never realized how popular her site had become until I was shopping in our local Publix. I heard some very excited women talking because they heard the PPP lady was actually shopping at Publix right then!! I thought WOW this is going to be BIG someday!! So proud of all you have accomplished! You are encouraging~real~and such a wonderful success story.
How funny Deb!!! You know, when we moved honestly one of the things I was kind of excited about was being able to shop and not feeling like I had to look cute to go the grocery store in case anyone would recognize me (not just because of PPP, but because in Madison you pretty much hit Publix and knew everyone there!) After one year here I’ve only seen 3 people (THREE) that I’ve known in the grocery store, and I would give ANYthing just to see a familiar face (not because of PPP – just because I knew someone!) I do still like being a little more anonymous here 🙂 but goodness makes me miss home!
And thanks so much for sharing – I’ve loved seeing the pictures you take (and totally think you need to take on that confidence for photography, if I can do this, you can do that. REALLY.) Hugs!!! 🙂
I am a stay at home Momma to a 13 month old and one on the way! Eden Hope was born in June of 2014 with GBS Meningitis and spent two weeks in the NICU. Those two weeks were the hardest and yet most grace filled weeks of my life!
Isaac Lewis is due November of this year. Two under two here we come!
My husband owns a pest control business, and we are already planning to homeschool all of our children. We want a houseful, whether that be through biological birth or adoption. We love our babies!

I have a slight obsession with Target, which my 4 year old son shares as well. He felt the need to share this fact with his preschool teacher…slightly embarrassing. But I LOVE your “deals you can’t miss @ Target this week” segment so much! Thanks so much for sharing ALL the great deals!!
Hi! I was born in Chateauroux, France . My father was stationed at the Air Force base and my Momma was a cigarette girl on base, she spoke little English and Daddy spoke very little French but love prevailed ! They had two boys and myself we moved around a lot but I finally stayed at one school for four years to graduate high school( 13 schools the first 8yrs phew)! I have lived in Madison Alabama for 20 years and was trying to learn couponing when a cashier at the county line Publix told me about your site and the rest is history……I continue to save money and show family and friends how to also all thanks to PPP!!!!
I love horseback riding although I haven’t gotten to in years. I also love country music and would love to go to a concert again one day!
Something about me….. I would do anything to help others if I can,,,,. But flip that around.,, I hold a grudge.
Two facts about me
I am a mother to 4 adults
And I have a brain disease called Chiari Malformation
Love your blog….please share how you lost all the weight??
Hi Gina! You can read more here – https://passionatepennypincher.com/2013/12/keep-a-new-years-resolution/
It’s not perfect (and such a process), hope that helps some!
Hi,
I starting dating my husband when I was 15, we got married when I was almost 23, we will be married 20 years this October. I have 4 boys 7,8, 15 and 17. We all have “j” names and 2 kids have my husband’s initials and 2 have mine (I know it’s corny). I am a stAy at home mom. This November it will be 10 years since I had spinal cord surgery to have a mass removed from the middle.of my cord. I had to relearn how to walk. I have lots of medical issues from it but I keep on pushing.
I can’t even imagine Janet – thank you so much for sharing your story! Prayers for your continued medical issues (it sounds like you’re such a fighter!)
After I had my second son I found out I have an autoimmune disease that attacks my liver. I’m currently waiting for a transplant.
I’m a Gma to 6 wonderful grandchildren who I adore. I retired 3 years ago so money is tighter than it was so your ideas come in handy for me! I enjoy baking and sewing for me and the kids and my Hubby of 39 years! Keep up the good work!
Congrats on your weight loss! I, too, feel the daily struggle after losing 95 pounds in college! Thanks for letting me know I’m not the only one that has the constant “pudgy girl” thoughts.
I used to be an elementary school teacher but five years ago my husband and I made the decision for me to stay home. During that time, we left Alabama and moved to Zionsville, Indiana. We are now back in Alabama and now have three kids. Since the birth of my third, I have not done as much couponing but I plan to get started again soon.
My passion is teaching kindergarten! I wouldn’t trade growing up a pastor’s kid. My parents are still in ministry (currently in the Philippines) at 96 & 86 years old!
Two things about me: I lost over 200 pounds in college and have kept about 150 of it off for 27 years. I love having red hair especially since mine wants to turn grey! I teach special Ed. And love it everyday!
Thanks for all you do for the people that follow you!
WOW Tammy – that’s a HUGE weight loss!!!! Thank you so much for sharing (that’s such an encouragement that you’ve kept it off for so long – AMAZING success story!)
Hi
1) We have been married for 16 years and have moved 9 times. (and no we are not in the military)
North Carolina, Virginia, Montana, Ohio, and back to North Carolina!
2) We have 5 children (15,13,10,7,3) and I would love a few more.
3)I have lost 40 lbs in the last year.
4) My biggest regret…not finishing college. 🙁
Great job Trisha on losing 40 pounds – so exciting for you!
I am a stay at home mom of four. Have moved all over the county. Have developed an amazing talent for packing ! Love to try new foods and recipes. Would love a gift card to help finish my back to school shopping.
Fun facts : I have moved 12 times in 22 years. I have a twin sister who couldn’t be more different than me and I consider home to be anywhere that has my family .
I can’t think of much right now but I have been married for 10 years, have 3 beautiful children and we are big Disney fans 🙂
I was a single mom until my son was 13 and I remarried, Although financially stable I still find myself looking and searching for the best deal or sale before I purchase anything. I have lived in upstate NY my entire life but when I say I live in NY everyone asks about the city 🙂 My husband has just retired at 60 and I think bargain hunting is about to take on a whole new meaning..lol
1. I’m a high school math teacher. Every time I tell someone that, they seem shocked that I would put myself through that kind of torture: high school??? math??? But I absolutely love teaching that age. The kids are amazing. It’s awesome to watch them grow up from being a kid to becoming a responsible adult. And as far as math goes – our whole lives have math in it some how, some way, whether we like it or not.
2. I have no children of my own, but I do have two miniature pinscher dogs. They are mommy and son to each other. I know that the pet population is a serious matter – with all the homeless and sheltered dogs (and cats) in the world. But it’s amazing to watch and be a part of the birthing process of an animal. It was also amazing to watch the puppy grow up into an adult dog who now bosses his mom around. It’s hilarious – they make me laugh almost every day with their antics. They are always happy to see me when I come home – particularly when I get home from the grocery (they have to think I’m the most amazing hunter in the world on those days). They know when I’m upset or happy or most any other emotion for that matter. When I’m upset, the mommy dog absolutely insists on getting up into my lap so that she can lick my tears.
3. Like Laurie, I can type really fast. However, unlike Laurie, I taught myself how to type. When I was in high school, I went to a boarding school taught by nuns. I remember one day sitting at the typewriter when the nun who taught typewriting came in. She asked me what I was doing and then got mad at me because “people who teach themselves to type invariably do it wrong.” Erm… Okay. Since then, I’ve had several jobs where I’ve used my typing skills – including being a secretary at a major university. So, I must have done it right somewhere along the way. I’ve even had a job where I did technical support on the telephone and I had to write a synopsis of the conversation. I was usually able to type as fast as the person on the other end of the phone.
Howdy folks! My name is Heather Rusmisell-Braswell and I am a native Wilmingtonian from Wilmington, NC.. In fact, my parents still live in the same house where they brought me home from the hospital. Although Wilmington is not as small as it used to be, I still consider myself a small town girl. I am an only child, a total given if you’ve ever spent more than five minutes with me. I have an amazing husband and three crazy kiddos who I love more than words can describe. I was employed by the local Police Department for almost 15 years until I made the decision to be a stay at home mom in 2012. Can you say best decision ever?? Our lives are absolute chaos but we wouldn’t have it any other way! I’m slightly OCD. Ok it’s really bad I LIVE for details!! I analyze things way too much, just ask my husband…We vacation every year at White Lake. It’s where I regain my sanity from chasing a 15, 3 and 1 year old all year. I LOVE to save money and follow this site daily!!! Had to run to Walgreen’s last night after seeing the fabulous post about school supplies! I also admin a local virtual yard sale group and have much success buying and selling there which is a must for a single income family of 5. Thank you all for the blood, sweat and tears that go into this amazing site 🙂
1. Youngest of 5 kids (1 boy and 4 girls)
2. Born and raised in Texas and still here!
3. Mom to 4 boys (9, 6, 15 months, and an angel up above)
4. I’m a teacher. First grade to be exact 🙂
5. I love to bargain shop…thanks mom!
Thanks for all of your awesome tips
-Julianna
1. I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. For now, I’m a SAHM and love it. Both my husband and I were told we couldn’t have kids and we have 2! I have a degree in Sociology.
2. I have 2 kids…one going into High School and one going into 1st Grade.
3. I actively volunteer and love it. I have never seen myself as a “leader” type because I’m shy and very quiet. But, other people do. I wind up leading in most things I do.
Good morning! Here are my fun facts:
1. I am a 3rd grade teacher. I eat, sleep, and breathe school even in the summer. I love my job and my students and I can’t wait to get a new year started!

I am a new follower of your site, and have already found some great deals, so thanks!
I am married to my high school sweetheart, and after he has served 11 years in the Army, we are finally back in civilian life. We have a beautiful 2.5 year old son, and our lives are just now starting to move in the direction of our “new” normal. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a stay at home mom for the past year, but have the opportunity to reenter the teaching world (art) and am very excited about this school year! Thank you for providing interesting tips and websites to get a good deal and save some money!
I live in Madison, al!! I just had my 3rd baby boy 5 wks ago! I am awful at using coupons but try really hard!

My Dad joined the Air Force right after I’ve been born, and I was Active Duty Air Force until last year and now I’m a Reservist married to an Active Duty spouse. What that means is I’ve been moving my whole life and I love it. I love to travel, whether it is in the U.S. or abroad. My favorite thing to do when I’m not being a Mom to a very awesome 5 year old daughter, taking care of the house/family, or working as a Reservist, is running. I ran the Boston marathon for the first time this year and honestly when I started running I never thought that would happen. I love reading your blog. It gives me so many great ideas. Thanks!

5.) We had our third child this Februaurt, amidst a cross country PCS in a blizzard. We literally signed on our house 24 hours prior to her birth.
Hi!
Some things about me:
I have congenital hip dysplasia and have had one surgery that left 5 bolts in me. I have stage 4 endometriosis. Both of these things effect my daily life, but I am blessed to have the most amazing toddler that will be 2 on Sunday. It took us 4 years to get pregnant with her and if I had one inkling of how magical each moment with her would be, I would have tried for 40 more years if I had to. I love watching hockey. I now live in a neighborhood and want nothing more than to see the beautiful sunsets that only country living can seem to provide. I was a homebody in high school, and my mom always told me that I would never meet my husband by staying in my room. Within the first week or two of my freshman year of college, my now husband literally walked into my dorm room and introduced himself to me. I have been married to the same wonderful man for 43 years. We have two children and one grandson. I have been retired for 10 years and am now our Town’s clerk and tax collector. Love the job and I can walk to work as the Town Hall is just down the road from me. Thanks for this opportunity!
I am under 30 and a mother of three children ages 7, 4 and 5 months old. My husband and I have been married for 8 years. Just in the past year we have moved from Ohio to North Carolina and I will tell you I miss those Ohio winters that you’re trying to get acclimated to! Meanwhile, we’re here trying to get acclimated to southern summers! We also made the choice when we moved for me to stay at home with our two youngest children. My husband is a teacher and our sole income. So I am so excited to have found your website as we are looking for ways to save money! Thank you so much for the time you put into finding great deals! You’re such a help to our family!
I’m Christian too. Thirty seven without any children. After many expensive fertility treatments I needed to get our finances under control and your site has been awesome. Thanks for all of the affordable finds. I love reading your blog.
I enjoyed reading your fun facts! My husband and I have been together 20 years and we are expecting our 4th baby. I was born in New Jersey but lived in South America after my parents divorced when I was 7. During the year and a half I lived there, I forgot how to speak English! I had to re-learn it when I returned to New Jersey–for that reason I was very excited to win my junior high school top English student award. I have a Master’s Degree but I haven’t worked outside the home in over 12 years. My first cousin is a big star. His name is J Balvin and he recently made headlines for dropping out of performing in the Miss USA pageant because he objected to Donald Trump’s comments about Latinos. My grandfather was also famous in the 1950s. He starred in the movie “Boy on a Dolphin” as Sophia Loren’s boyfriend.
I Love Jesus. I love learning about how to save money……I’m kinda overwhelmed by all the ways. I’m cutting back on my work from full time to part time to spend more time at home with my kids. I love your site and appreciate your money saving ideas. I’d love to win!

I really enjoy the tips and info from the PPP. Keep it up please! I moved to GA. from Michigan. I enjoy the springs and falls but, the summers are a bit hot! I have made some fantastic friends here which I truly enjoy. My AF son took his own life in front of his brother and I. Now that son has a life threatening disease. All of this has been hard to deal with but one day and one step at a time.

I am a mother of two beautiful daughters and now I am a grandmother to one amazing grandson. I wish I could not work full time and spend my days taking care of him. Make wonderful memories together. I live in a small town (less than 300 people) in Kansas. The Land of Oz! Dealing with the loss of my Mother. I miss her so!
I love your site. I have referred to your site while in a store shopping. I love to spend and I love to save. They work well together. I am a 43 year old mother of three …ages almost 13, almost 11 and almost 7. Live in PA. Went to PSU, like almost half the people I know including my spouse, sister and parents and sis and bro in law and 80% of my co-workers. I have a french bulldog and he is the best! Thanks for all of your help in saving!
Some fun facts to share
I married my high school sweetheart 38 years ago, we have four children ages 18-37 spaced 5-7 years apart because we could only afford daycare for one at a time. We could not handle the empty nest when they started kindergarten, so….we would have another. The first grandchild was born in July when the youngest started kindergarten! We took that as a sign that our family was complete. We have 5 beautiful grandchildren ages 1 ,3, 5,10, and 13. Two of our children are not married yet so I doubt we will ever be without small children in our home! Perfect plan if you ask me – although I can’t tell you how many times my husband and I have been asked – Are all of your children with the same spouse? Did you plan to have them that far apart? Was this an accident? We just laugh it off and say it was our plan all along!
A few facts (not sure if they’re fun!) about me…I once lived in Pisgah, AL, which does not even have a traffic signal. I am a single mom with a wonderful son who amazes me every day! I love animals; snakes and spiders do not count. I worked for several years alongside your husband, who along with your cookies led me to follow your wonderful site. Reading that James was the first and only man you’ve ever kissed warms my heart and makes me love and miss y’all even more!
Oh my goodness Jenny – I love that!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing – James says to say hello!
Thanks for the info about you! I love your emails! I’m also a Jesus girl & do my best every day raising my two little Jesus boys! I’m an school based occupational therapist & just recently became an Ava Anderson Non Toxic consultant which I’m LOVING!!! 🙂
Fun facts about me. I am currently pregnant with a surprise baby and due in a month. I am double jointed. I once worked for Morgan Freeman(at a business he owned). I laugh all the time…..because I think I am so funny. My Facts.
I’m a California girl and was lucky enough to have great parents. They sent me to private school, which I appreciate. I went to a Catholic college(now a university) and was in a convent until my mother needed help. I am still single and active in my parish. I love animals and have never been without companion creatures. Cats, dogs, birds, hamsters, gerbils, horses, cows, and chickens. I am a Secular Franciscan, and I have done child care, pet-sitting, house-sitting, and elder care. My life is in His hands totally. All internet pals are in my prayers.
Hi Laurie~
I am a wife and mom to my three sons! I grew up in a house with my Grandma, my Mom and two sisters. My hubby says that God has a sense of humor! I have a Master’s in Education. Love your site!!!
I love your website. So very helpful for a first time mom. Born and lived the majority of my life in eastern Kentucky. Married to my best friend. Left my job as a Xray Tech to be a full time mommy, and I couldn’t be happier!!!

1. I regret not going to college and sometimes wish I had the time, means, and patience to go back to school.
2. I have 3 kiddos and a full time job.
3. I desperately need help in the “penny pinching” dept.

Hi! I’m a Jesus girl, too-born and raised in South Dakota but nowliving in TX! I was also a Psychology major and then got an MBA. I love your site and lookforward to your posts everyday! Thanks for being REAL!!!!
First off let me say I love this site – – – I am a bargain hunter and you sure have made it easy to find some, thank you! I have been married for 29 years and it gets better each year!! I have one son who is 27 who made me a grandma 9 months ago to the absolutely cutest grand baby ever! I work part time in the medical field and love to stamp and make cards and home decor! I just got back home from 2 weeks in Charleston, SC (where I grew up) and was there helping my mom with her recovery from a double mastectomy! I too am a Jesus girl and can not tell you how many times I have seen Him work in my mom’s life since January! Through the power of prayer so many miracles have happened and I have seen my parents both develop a closer walk with God through this journey! It has been a hard journey but I know nothing takes God by surprise and He uses all things to bring Him glory and this sure has!
Thanks again for your site and for sharing more about yourself with us!!!
I am seriously addicted to books and love being a wallflower. I love being behind the scenes doing things and don’t want any attention if I can help it. My beautiful daughter is the total opposite loving drama and singing in front of the church. I did promise her last Christmas I would sing my favorite contemporary Christmas song for her in a solo at church. If I hadn’t made that promise (and wished every day I didn’t make it) I wouldn’t have done it. Prayer and knowing my daughter wanted to hear me were the only things that got me through. It was Hallelujah (Light Has Come) done by BarlowGirl). Truly one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. I’m also a big procrastinator and love giving to others especially the little things which I call happys.
Thanks for all of your hard work (and your helpers)!
I have three children all 20 months apart and under 5. I earned my Masters while being a stay at home mommy. I wouldn’t have it any other way! I will be a special education teacher once all my kiddos are in school. Thanks for the giveaway!
I work with special needs children and am expecting our first baby any day!! I use ideas from your site so I can stay at home after the baby comes. My husband works and goes to school full time so pinching pennies is how we make ends meet!

I debated for 4 years in HS and with that got a 4 year scholarship to debate to college. Not only the savings there, but the skills I developed in organization I use everyday. 2. When I was 8, I had to choose between getting a bike or taking art lessons. I chose art lessons. Then entered an art contest and WON a bike!
LOVE that Miranda – what a great story!

I lost 50 lbs. in 9 months by eating healthier foods and drinking lots of water.
I recently started studying the Bible again thanks to an inspiring book written by Denise Jackson, the wife of country music star, Alan Jackson.

I can’t believe how much your son has grown since you moved from Ala.I know how you feel-I’m the shortest in my family now too.
He has grown a TON – I swore the minute we moved to Ohio he went from a boy into almost a man (which is just weird!)
I was born in Washington State but moved to Alabama when I was 10 and that was 20, 30 ye……umm, awhile ago. I don’t think I could survive the winters there now.
Saving money is in my Capricorn blood. I was using coupons in high school and I remember my boyfriend being embarrassed and thinking I was really weird, although he had no problems enjoying the fruits of my labor.
I found your site because of a recipe on Iheartpublix and let’s just say I still make Cheesy Baked Spaghetti and the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Ever waaaayyyy too much.
I’m making cheesy baked spaghetti tonight Valencia – so glad you found PPP! 🙂

I am a beach lover. Our family goes on a beach vacation every year. We are trying to switch it up and find different beaches each year. It’s fun!
I love to eat healthy and take care of myself. Lost 50 lbs in the last 2 years, and I’m motivated to keep it off! Feel better in my 40s than I did in my 30s.
I love Homegoods, too!! And Marshalls 🙂
WOOHOOOO!!!!! Great job losing 50 pounds – I’m so excited for you Suzanne! 🙂
When I first started couponing, I was so gung-ho that I subscribed to way too many coupon blogs. When I realized I couldn’t keep up with all of them and had to pare the list down, PPP is one of the three I stayed subscribed too. It was partly because you were nearby geographically and therefore you had the same Publix sales as I had, but more than that, it was because your sweet (and a little bit goofy! 🙂 personality and your wholesome family relationships came through in your posts. I’m so glad PPP is prospering. About me? Well, how about this? When I was 10 I could sing just like Alvin of Alvin & the Chipmunks. Haha! “I like to break dishes, and fight with the squirrels…”
Grace and peace, Jesus girl!
Thanks for sharing … I’m so glad the “little bit goofy” didn’t run you off (ha!) 🙂 And hope the Publix deals still work for you (Shannon’s still in the South which helps os much!)
I’ve been married 30 yrs in Nov, I have 10 kids and 1 grandbaby. I grew up on a farm in southern MI near both IN and OH, have lived in IL, IN, MN, AR, and MO. Dh and I recently spent a year doing missionary work with 7 kids in our camper. Now we live on a beef and cattle ranch where dh manages the turkey operation. I love living in the country, love flowers and gardening and need to be surrounded by color so we are painting all the rooms in the housing provided by the farm. I love to sew, crochet, and cross stitch.
Laurie, I love discovering new things about you. We even have a few in common. : )
I currently live in Palm Harbor, just a stone’s throw away from Clearwater, but I love seeing palm trees out my window. I taught preschool for 11 years and used to type really fast on a steno machine (225 wpm as a former court reporter). And my favorite thing we have in common is I’m a Jesus girl too! : )
Congratulations and thank you for all you do! : )
I didn’t know you were in Palm Harbor Crystal – I know right where that is! AND WOW – 225 WPM? THAT’s fast. 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing and I’m always so very glad when I see a comment from you!
1) I hadn’t had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich until I was in college. We always had flutternutter sandwiches – peanut butter and marshmallow cream. YUM!!
2) I love to read Christian fiction and Francine Rivers is my favorite author. The Mark of the Lion series is my favorite, especially books 1 & 2.
3) If I win this $50, I will use it to buy a baby carrier base to use in our van when our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter come home for a visit from Long Beach, CA to Danville, IN.

Hi! Great knowing a little more about you. I was born in Santiago, Chile and came to the US when I was 2. I delayed everything in my life, I suppose because I didn’t want to grow up or have kids. So I married my husband at the age of 36 and had my baby boy at the age of 38….yikes!!! I don’t have the energy I once had and believe me it is not easy juggling work, marriage, and motherhood. Everything is so expensive and money disappears so quickly. Thankfully, I’ve been able to save some money and get great deals by reading your blog. Thank you so much!!!!!!
I grew up in Huntsville, AL and now live in Ohio. I have lots of interests but nothing gets me as excited as saving money. I retired at 50 and my husband retired at 56. He credits our retirement to my penny stretching ways.
How funny that you were in Huntsville and now Ohio – what a small world Christine!
I had 3 kids in 2 1/2 yrs. We live 19 hrs from any of our family (military). I love to crochet and knit. I can wiggle my eyebrows.
Loved reading some information about you. I actually just found you today so this is awesome. I have loved looking through all the good information and tips!!!
Some facts about me — I graduated high school two weeks before my 18th birthday, got married and moved from Indiana to South Dakota two weeks after my 18th birthday then found out two months later I was pregnant!! My mom kept telling me to go get on birth control but I never in a million years thought it would happen so fast. I wouldn’t trade it for te world.
I have two red head babies — Well maybe not techically babies anymore but they will always be my babies!! The oldest is 20 and the youngest is 16 and just started driving on his own this past June — Yikes! They are the light of my life and I love them so much. I miss them being little tho 🙁
I have also struggled with my weight — I lost 55 pounds doing Weight Watchers after my youngest was born and kept it off for 10 years but then I gained 40 back. I am now working on that and am half way there. I have lost 20 pounds and would like to lose at least 20 more.
In my spare time (hahaha) I like to read, walk, scrapbook and just be with my family!
Thank you so much for all the work you put into this site!
I’m so glad you found PPP today Christy! The weight loss struggle is so hard – it sounds like you’ve done an incredible job though! And I love to scrapbook too …. in my spare time 🙂
I have been to 48 states all before the age of 16, my Dad says 49 but I don’t recall North Dakota. And never been to Hawaii. I went to aprox 2-3 schools per year until High School. (Dad’s Job kept us moving) But San Diego and Palm Springs were “Home.” The two places we always went back to. Now my home is in Washington State and I am tired of moving, so trying to make forever home here.
My Husband and I dated for 10 years before we married (now married 6 years). For the first year he had no clue I could cook so he cooked or took me out a lot. My son gave me up..I was busted!
Thanks for sharing who you are with us.
Hi Laurie
You have been an inspiration to many and your daily emails have sent me to some of the greatest deals ever – any thanks for that, keep it up!
I was interested in your site as you remind me of myself several years ago – I am ax expat Kiwi who like you have traveled around with my best friend husband and my wonderful kids who are now parents themselves – we were frugal through necessity a trait which is impossible to lose so that carries on today much of it with your help. I have faith in the Man Upstairs who guides me each and every day and leads me to wonderful places both in reality and online.
Cheers and keep it all going we love it !!
Congrats on all your many followers, we do appreciate all the work you do 🙂
About me: I am a Jesus girl too. I listen to Joel Osteen daily and read the scripture. I enjoy writing, swimming, walking, and spending time with my niece. I hope one day to be blessed with a family. In the meantime, I’m the mommy to my cats and dog and the backyard critters that hang out at my feeder 🙂

I love your website and am always looking at the deals you share. I just happen to pass along your webpage to a co-worker first thing this morning because I am always talking about the deals you share. I have always lived in the same town…now going on 42 years. Married my high school sweetheart, have 3 amazing kids, and am a Jesus girl too!
Hi,
My boss told me about you! She is one of your neighbors.
My mom showed me great ways to save money years ago: find things on sale and use coupons!, and then take the money you saved and pop it in a savings account; grow your own veggies and freeze or can the bounty; polish shoes to breathe new life into them and eat at home. I am happy to report the next generation also loves to save money using today’s technology, as well as the old tried and true methods.
Keep saving!
Regina
I’ve been so blessed by your tips and tricks and tip offs of late! I don’t normally follow a lot of blogs so I don’t get too bogged down by social media, but yours is one that I choose to keep up with! Thanks for making saving money a little easier for this stay at home mom with 2 kids under 4 and a 3rd one on the way! 🙂
Thank you so much Sarah – I’m so glad you take the time to keep up with PPP (that means so much to me!) 🙂
I will have been married for 5 years next month. I have two wonderful stepsons who are 10 and 11 and I have a beautiful baby girl who is 9 months old. My husband, daughter and I just picked up this summer and moved from South Carolina to TEXAS, so I understand your feeling of trying to make it feel like home. I have never lived anywhere other than Greenville, SC, so this is hard for me. I left all my family and friends behind. I am working as an office manager for a new hand surgery center in Frisco. Right now I am the only employee and am in the office by myself every day. It is so quiet! I too struggle with ADD and my mind running 100 mph!
Hi! I started following about two years ago. My husband and I were both in college, and trying to make ends meet. We’re both out now, but continuing to coupon so we can chip away at that college debt. Fact about me: I married my best friend, and he’s the only person I ever dated – wouldn’t change a thing 🙂
I played the flute from elementary to college.
My husband is my best friend.
Good afternoon!
First off, I would just like to say thank you for everything that you post on a daily basis and all of your penny pinching ideas. It has definitely helped me along the way of being a single mom. My daughter is soon to be 4 years old in January and its really hard juggling part time school and 13 hour work days 5 days a week. By the time bills are paid there isn’t really much left but I have come to reason with pinching pennies around several corners. You really are a life saver and an angel sent from heaven for some of us! Thank you again!
My husband and I have been married 34 years (!) and have 3 children. We were married 13 years before we had children. In that time, I finished my education and got my BA in business management. I worked in retail in many capacities, including sales associate, cosmetics counter manager, department sales manager, office manager, and customer service associate. Went through an intensive program to get my paralegal certificate. Only worked as a paralegal for a short time before I had my first son. I knew I had to stay home with him. Stayed home for the next 11 years, having and raising my 3. When my youngest started school, I got more involved in my kids’ school sand ended up as a teaching assistant, which is what I have done for the past 7 years. I love to cook, bake, and make greeting cards. I also love to read and nap. We have no family close by, but we have friends who are like family. We’re not from North Carolina but have lived here for 33 years, and it feels like home now.
I am a full time working mom of a beautiful 18 month old girl. I am going to go back to school this Fall for my Business degree in Public Admin. I hope I can do it all!
I love God, my animals, and to eat! oh yeah and I have a shopping problem when it comes to sales, clearance and coupons. I get the biggest rush out of free stuff!
There are so many posts here that I use daily. I live the links for coupons at stores that are local. I cannot thank you enough for what you provide. Penny pinching Nana of 7 grandsons.
Wow! What a small world!!! I love your newsletters and have gotten lots of great deals from them. I never realized you are from Kentucky! I live in Louisville, Kentucky. I went to University of Louisville and now work at the University of Louisville in the Law School. I recruit and have visited Asbury several times. What a beautiful place! I have two boys and am known by a lot of my friends as the deal catcher! I pride myself on how much money I can save and how much I can get for free. Your newsletter is the best and is so helpful!!! 🙂 Thanks for all you do!
Oh my goodness Angela – what a small world (isn’t Asbury the best?) I love Louisville too – keep telling my kids they need to end up there 🙂 Such a small world!!!

To live that dream I felt a need to help with finances. I don’t go out and earn money but I do my very best to save any where I can. You have certainly helped me save money and I so enjoy your videos and posts. Congratulations on all your followers!
I am a wife and mother of three–a 4 year old daughter, 8 month old son and a baby in heaven. I have a Master’s of Divinity in Christian Education and am a stay at home mommy. Until a couple months ago I earned extra money babysitting two sisters full time but now find myself “unemployed” again and seaching for the next adventure.

I was born in Huntsville, AL & I am still here in the area 43 years later – the only time I have lived elsewhere is for 4 years when I was at Auburn getting an accounting degree that has been collecting dust for the past 14 years that I have been a SAHM! 🙂 Your comment about not being a giver by nature really hit home with me, because that is how I am as well – I have always viewed that as a “negative”, but my “natural-giver-husband” always points out that that just makes it mean even more that I DO give , because it is going against my natural inclination! 🙂
I am a farmer’s wife. We live in Central San Joaquin Valley in California. I am always looking for ways to spend money wisely. Penny Pinching and be thrifty is a way of life for us; I consider it the wise way to manage the financial resources God has entrusted to us. I like to think I am crafty in the sense that I love to crochet, sew, paper crafting. I make gifts for all those I love because my handmade gifts are made out love and are an extension of ME! Thank you for all you do!
I’ve been following your blog for about a year now (thank you for saving me so much money!!), and now I realize just how much we have in common! I’m a Kentucky girl…live just south of Cincinnati in a town called Union. I’ve recently started my own blog (I repurpose furniture and anything else I can get my hands on!!) and I take comfort that you didn’t know it all when you started either…I am doing a ton of googling to learn the ropes!
Fun Facts:
1) I am the Director of a faith-based, private adoption agency in Lynchburg, Virginia – Family Life Services – http://www.familylifeservices.org
2) Because I work for a non-profit, I have become a huge fan of PPP and the great deals you pass along to us to help the dollars stretch farther!
3) I was raised in Ontario, Canada; married a country boy from Hat Creek, Virginia; and we have two of the rowdiest boys you have ever seen.
4) I love every kind of music (including bluegrass) and I would drop anything, anytime to see Willy Nelson or Robert Randolph & the Family Band in concert
Congrats on coming so far! I really enjoy your deals! I’m the mommy of twin girls that are 10 and a boy who is 7. I love the Lord and couldn’t imagine my life without him. I’ve been married for 13 years. I just recently decided to homeschool my kids. I’m looking forward to a blessed adventure ahead!
1. I grew up in the Midwest and love it, I lived in Georgia for a short time and figured out I am definitely not a southern girl.
2. My husband is my best friend and the love of my life.
3. I work from home and love it!! It allows me to keep a career that I enjoy doing, but also to do all the things at home that I enjoy like cooking.
4. I am so glad to have found PPP, it has made such a difference in the way I shop!
Born in NYC, lived a long time in Columbus Ohio. Im a HUGE Buckeye Fan. Saving$ has helped my family in so many ways. We are teaching our kids about the value of $ through saving.
Moved to Madison,AL from Sacramento, CA 8 years ago. Still not used to the thunderstorms here. Blessed to be a Jesus girl who used to think she was good at giving. But has really struggled in that area since quitting work to stay home with kids. Now ages 12, 10, 7. Your site has certainly challenged me to grow in this area. We have friends in common.
Hi! I was born and raised in Nashville,TN a city girl but in my heart I’m country girl. I now live in Athens, AL And lI’ve saving money and figuring out ways to save even more. I found ur site today and decided to sign up and save the site to my bookmarks cause I figure you probably have a lot of great ideas and I love saving money so that’s perfect 🙂 May the LORD continue to bless you and ur family 🙂 Ur story seems so wonderful and I’m so happy for you .
I love saving money!! I love finding ways to make money go further. I have a pharmacy degree and worked as a pharmacist for 24 years. God has now led me in a different direction and I am helping homeless teens and young adults get their lives back on track. As a result, I’m now the queen of “redistribution”…… I now spend many hours a day trying to feed and clothe my babies as cheaply as possible. I went from a 6 figure income to knowing how to buy hygiene products for 20 on a $5 a week budget. I’ve never been happier!!!
I’m glad you shared!! It’s fun to learn about you.
I have two degrees – in math and theater. And actually use both!! I work as an actor and also as an analyst currently.
I live in Austin with my pastor husband, and I have a goal of getting my $800 grocery budget to $500. It’s a CRAZY goal = I think everything might be a little more expensive here, and we love to eat good, natural foods. Your site is helping me learn, so thank you!
You can TOTALLY reach that goal Stephanie – even in Texas!!!! I’m excited for you as you get started 🙂 (Do they have Aldi, Fresh Thyme or Sprouts there? That would help so much with fresh foods!)
I am a stay at home mom to two little ones. I finished my masters of education a few weeks before starting maternity leave so seems pointless but glad I did it! Hubby is a teacher so budgeting is a must. Thankful for this ssites help with that.
A few facts. I grew up in Missoula Montana and moved to Castle Rock Colorado when I was 31. I had my only child when I was 38. My husband is 1 month and 2 days older than I am and my son and his little girlfriend were born 1 month and 2 days apart coincidence or fate.
I can’t hold still. My husband sees it as a fault (can’t relax) and a blessing (I like to clean).
I want lots of kids but just being with 3 4-year olds teaching on Sunday- I second guess this.
Thank you for the giveaway!
A few facts about me:
I’m a mom to 2 amazing little boys, a 3 year old and an almost 1 year old (next week). I also have a degree in psychology, although I have never used it, both jobs I had before becoming a SAHM were social work/prevention areas. I still live in the same small town I grew up in.
1) My husband is starting seminary this month after being an engineer for nearly 15 years. Talk about a career change. 2) I’m a graphic designer, and I’ve been working with same people for nearly 15 years.
Born & raised farm girl now married to a farmer raising our baby girl and trying to build a legacy that can be passed to the next generation.
A couple of facts about me: 1) Today my husband and I celebrate our 33rd anniversary!! 2) We are now living in the house that I came home from the hospital to! It is a very special place to me and my family.
Congratulations Gina on your anniversary – so glad you’re here!
A few facts about me. I grew up and lived most of my life in a small mining town (but not the country) but having lived the last 7 years in Houston I now know that I am a country girl and dream daily of having a homestead with chickens, goats, pigs, cow, (oh my)! 😉 My youngest is a senior this year. I love to bake. And in the last year, I have started doing Crossfit. I am sore all the time but I must love it because I go back everyday. 🙂
Congrats on 260,000 on FB!
Thanks so much for sharing Marnie – I love your dream of chickens and goats and pigs oh my! So glad you’re here. 🙂
I have been following you for about 4 years now. I starting clipping coupons when I lost my job 4 1/2 years ago. My husband and I make good money now, but I can not imagine giving up couponing. I am not as good as I once was. We have 4 busy kids and work full time, so some days as you know are just crazy!
I have learned to plan and use the crockpot at least 2 times a week. Some of our weekly staples came from you. Thank you!!
It amazes me how much $ people spend on their weekly groceries. We spend $100/ wk for a family of 6. Not too bad. I want to thank you for your site. It always brings a smile to realize others are just as busy and love their kiddos as much as me.
I’m so glad you’ve been following for so long Karen – WOW! 🙂 I can’t imagine 4 kids and working full time (and couponing!) and I totally know that I’m in the same place – couldn’t give up couponing but I don’t do it as seriously as I once did. 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing!!!
My fun facts are, I worked to get my MBA before having my first child, although I dislike crowds I am more of a city person then a country person, and I took Spanish classes for 5 years in school and I wish I remembered more than I do.
Thanks so much for sharing Kelly!!!
