Grocery Trolley Bags
I've allllways wanted to try out the expandable shopping cart bags that help you bag your groceries as you shop.  Especially as an Aldi shopper – since I have to checkout and bag my own groceries, I thought these bags could be even more of a time saver!
Since I hit Aldi every week – I spent my last few grocery trips trying out these highly-rated Lotus Trolley Bags. (They're on sale right now for $10 OFF the ones I got!) I got stopped THREE TIMES my first time using them with people wanting to know where I got them – I felt like a lady who had her act together! (I hear that people who do scan and go love these bags even more than the rest of us) Here's what I learned…
Start by picking the right size trolley-bags for your store:
-  Lotus Extra Wide 3-Bag Set (These are the ones I got for my Aldi trips!)
*Works for Aldi, Costco, Sam's Club and HEB carts - Â Lotus Regular Size 4-Bag Set
*Works for the shopping carts at Target, Publix, Kroger, and Albertsons
How the trolley bags work:
- Convenient Storage
The Lotus trolley bags are stored rolled around one another in a compact little bundle that is secured by velcro. When you're ready to shop – just grab them out of your trunk and drop them into your buggy. - Setup
The bag system opens accordion style to cover the length of your whole buggy! Each bag is velcroed to the one next to it – so they stay together on the buggy. - Let the bags help you organize your groceries!
– Use the bags with mesh bottoms for produce and other pantry staples
– Use the insulated bag for your cold items
– Use the Mesh egg pocket to keep eggs (or smaller items) secure
– Use the Bottle Pockets for any glass bottles (To keep them safe from breaking) - Trunk Loading:
Take each individual bag off the cart and place in the trunk. They'll be WAYYYY too heavy to try and lift the whole thing off all at the same time. Ask me how I know…. The tops of the bags velcro shut to keep things from spilling and to keep the cold stuff cold. - Carrying
Grab each full bag by the handle to carry from the trunk to the house. They can hold a LOT – up to 50lbs each!
The verdict?
These bags are convenient, innovative, and STURDY. I was surprised and pleased at how well they worked and how much more quickly I got from the checkout line to my trunk with them helping me keep things organized!

Where can I find these bags? Are they sold at Military Commissaries?
Brooke says
You can find them here! https://passionatepennypincher.com/we-love-these-trolley-bags-for-aldi-sams-costco-shopping/
Christie says
Which one would you buy if you shop at stores listed for both sizes? Is it safe to assume the extra wide would fit in the other stores carts rather than the smaller fitting in the extra wide cart
Brooke says
If you are unsure I would go on the safe side and get the smaller size to be sure it will fit!

Thanks for this info. How does these work when you get to the check out lane? Im assuming you unload each bag and then after they’re rung up, you or the cashier repacks them into the bag and then it goes back in your cart?
Jamie says
Hi Lisa!! Great question – I unloaded an item at a time to scan and then just put it right back in the bag. If I had been going through the link I would’ve asked the cashier to put this group in this bag, the next group in this bag, etc… but I’m not sure if they’d comply 🙂 They’re reallllly fast at my store!

I’m confused. When you say you took one item at a time out to scan, how does that work at Aldi? Do you have self checkout at your Aldi?
Bridgett - PPP Team says
We pulled the items out of the bag and put them on the conveyer belt then as they scanned them put them back in that same bag. Hope that helps! 🙂

I must have missed the $10 off Lotus trolley bag sale. Only the trolley bags with no logo or name had the $10 discount. Maybe I’ll have better luck next time.
Alice -PPP Team says
The regular 4-bag set is still on sale! Hope that helps! 🙂
Jamie says
Sorry Christina – the $10 off is still live on the 4-Bag set, but the 3-Bag set is still on sale for $39.99! It’s regularly priced at $44.99 – but not sure why it doesn’t say that at the present moment. Hope that helps!
