Bought these for a guest room decorated with these colors–very effective coasters. They're not the absorbent kind, but they have a slightly raised edge all around as part of the design which keeps moisture from leaking down the side of the coaster onto furniture (which I've had happen before with plain tile coasters). Nice quality, nice price, very pleased.
These coasters are BEAUTIFUL! So beautiful that I’m willing to take the risk that they will likely break at some point from one of my kids throwing or dropping them. The top of the coaster is not very absorbent at all so if that is what you are looking for, then these may not be for you. But if you are looking for somewhere to catch condensation (rather than the water going all over a table) and want a coaster that looks really pretty for a low price, then these are great!!
The Stone & Beam Medallion Round Stoneware 4-Coaster Set is a terrific set of coasters that not only look great but are also well-made. The Stoneware construction is another way of saying earthenware or pottery/ceramics. Due to the materials used in these coasters, they are surprisingly heavy. Two of the coasters appear to be the same shade of deep-blue while the other two coasters are shades lighter. I love the look and slight variation in color makes them more interesting. The top of each coaster has a crystal-like appearance with what feels like a smooth lacquer finish. The bottom of each coaster features slip-resistant cork. Love these coasters, recommended!
