Jamie here! Do you have wasps or yellowjackets swarming around your deck or outside area? We do – and I suspect they actually have their home UNDER our deck because they crawl through the deckboards a bunch.
It makes it so that we can't sit outside while entertaining until evening because they scare the guests away. I was worried we wouldn't be able to hang out outside when we have people over this summer – so I ordered THIS.
And… it really works! I've had it hanging up for a week now and it's definitely been attracting and trapping wasps and yellowjackets (+ a few flies and gnats). It will attract yellow jackets, or hornets or wasps that might be troubling you. Check out this picture one reviewer left!
Tips on using this trap: The first few days I used the liquid it came with and the wasps didn't seem interested. They crawled around and ignored it! I then read some reviews that recommended replacing the liquid attractant inside with any kind of juice or sugar water – so I poured in some flat coke I had left in the fridge. The next day – BAM! Two yellowjackets and 3 wasps. Every day I go out to check there are more inside! The swarming on the deck is now just an occasional wasp here or there.
I read reviews on both Amazon and Walmart before trying this trap – what I liked about it was that it was geared towards not JUST wasps but yellow jackets and hornets too. I also like that I won't ever need to buy the bait replacements now that I know that juice, sugar water or soda are excellent substitutes.
Let me know if you've had any luck with this or other wasp traps – I'd love to hear any tips you have!
Snag yours here or here!

How do you empty the trap? What sugar mixture do you make/what are the ratios? How do you re-use this trap?
Brooke says
There will be instructions on how to empty the trap when you receive it, and there are solution refills that you can buy separately. Hope this helps!

If it attracts these will there be more bees around? Do you see less bees after this has been up for awhile?
Jamie says
I have only seen LESS wasps and yellow-jackets – not more!
Kayla says
Does the coke need to be flat?
Brooke says
I don’t think it needs to be flat, the coke I used just happened to be! Let us know if you try it!
Amanda Keedy says
Anyone know if this will catch flies?
Brandy Ellis says
Watch it carefully. Bees will start to collect in it. The liquid they sell only attracts wasps and hornets, putting in sugar syrup will attract the bees you don’t want to kill.

Thank you for the heads up, that is very helpful!
Val says
I was worried about that. I do NOT want to kill bees, but the wasps are terrible this year!
Debbie says
Thank you for posting Brandy. That’s exactly what I was thinking. Please DON’T kill Honey Bees.

Going to try it. Thank you. Also if you have spaces between wood spray foam if it expands over let it dry then cut it

Thanks for the tip ~ Let us know what you think!
Linda DeGraw says
I would love to get rid of the wasps but will this also attract and kill honeybees?
Madison ~ PPP Team says
Hmmm Linda, I’m not sure! None of the reviews that customers have left have caught honeybee’s. So sorry I can’t be of more help!
