Have you all noticed all the GREAT deals on Betty Crocker Potatoes right now? You can get them free or very close to free at Publix and Kroger, and probably pretty cheaply at other stores. Well, I was thinking about that this morning (I know, I really need to have more exciting things to think on), and I decided it was time for a challenge. Our church's food pantry is completely out of potatoes. Completely. Out. Really. Something that I can get for almost nothing to help someone out, but I haven't. Unbelieveable! Now, in the years that I've been couponing and donating, I've often thought that no one in America should ever go without instant potatoes, and my food pantry has none!
So here's my challenge to you . . .
Over the next week, grab some cheap Betty Crocker Potatoes. Below are the Kroger and Publix deals, and I'd love to hear any other store deals if you know of them. You should be able to print EIGHT COUPONS for these potatoes! So if you need a bunch for your family – stock up! But if you can give one or two boxes away, please consider giving them to your local food pantry.
Many of the folks that our food pantry serves are elderly widows or couples, and while a single box of Potatoes doesn't sound like much for my hungry brood, it would be so helpful to someone looking for a simple side dish. And imagine that the two boxes you give go to a single mom who's feeding the same number of kids as you are – just think of what a gift you're giving her for one meal!
OK, enough of my rambling – I just really believe this is something we can do! To enter the challenge, just answer the survey form in the sidebar with how many potatoes you were able to donate before April 13th at 8:00 PM. (If you donate another item you're welcome to leave that too!) It will let you leave multiple answers, so if you donate a bunch just check as many as you need to add up to your total!
Finally . . . here are your deals:
Publix Betty Crocker Boxed Potatoes $1
Use $.40/1 HERE, HERE, HERE, or HERE or $.25/1 from 3/28 SS
$.20 each if your store doubles, just $.60 if they don't!
Kroger Betty Crocker Pouch Potatoes $1.09
Use $.40/1 HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, Cellfire Coupon HERE, or $.25/1 from 3/28 SS
$.29 each after coupon
And, Kroger has this great catalina deal right now . . .
Buy 1 Betty Crocker Potatoes, get $.50 back
Buy 2 Betty Crocker Potatoes, get $1 back
Buy 3 Betty Crocker Potatoes, get $3 back
You'll MAKE MONEY buying potatoes!
(Note: The Catalina machine at my Kroger did not automatically print when I purchased these, however it was clearly marked on the Potatoes so they gave me a $3 store credit. Just be sure to watch out for that one!)
I know that instant potatoes will not change the world, but they might lighten the load for someone who's struggling financially for a meal or two. So consider giving a few if you're able, and I'd love to hear how you do on this challenge! Happy Giving!
