Spinach and Artichoke Dip Recipe

This classic dip is a crowd favorite!  Creamy, cheesy and perfect for any gathering, you’ll love the tender spinach and tangy flavor from the cheese and artichokes.  Serve it with tortilla chips, hawaiian bread as we have above, crusty bread, or fresh veggies.  Endless possibilities!

Ingredients:

  • cream cheese
  • sour cream
  • grated parmesan and romano cheese
  • garlic clove
  • dried basil
  • garlic salt
  • salt
  • pepper
  • artichoke hearts
  • frozen chopped spinach
  • shredded mozzarella cheese
  • round hawaiian bread

How to Make Spinach Artichoke Dip:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a small baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan and Romano cheese, garlic, basil and garlic salt. Add salt and pepper to taste. Gently stir in artichoke hearts and spinach.
  3. Transfer mixture into prepared baking dish. Top with mozzarella cheese and bake 25 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned.
  4. Cut the top off the Hawaiian loaf, and remove the center leaving a 3/4″ shell.
  5. Cut the top and the insides of loaf into bite sized squares for dipping.
  6. Carefully spoon heated dip into bread bowl. Serve with bread squares.

PRO TIP!  Squeeze out excess water from spinach. Prep 2 – 3 hours ahead and refrigerate before baking!

Years ago, I made this version that has mayonnaise and green chilies in it.  It’s a nice variety to the recipe listed above!

Ingredients

  • 2 –  8 oz packages cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 4.5 oz can chopped green chiles, drained
  • 1 cup fresh grated Parmesan
  • 12 oz jar artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • 10 oz box frozen spinach chopped, thawed and drained

Directions

  1. Mix together softened cream cheese and mayonnaise in a bowl and stir until mixed together.
  2. Add in Parmesan cheese, drained artichokes, spinach, and chiles.
  3. Pour mixture into baking dish
  4. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
  5. Serve with tortilla chips – enjoy!
