Target Is Ending Price Matching – Here’s What You Need to Know

Heads up, Target shoppers! One of our favorite ways to save has gone away — Target has quietly confirmed that it’s eliminating its price match policy with outside retailers as of July 28, 2025. This includes competitors like Walmart and Amazon, which means no more post-purchase price adjustments if you find a better deal elsewhere.

Starting July 29, 2025 Target will only price match Target.com or prices from its own in-store locations. So if you spot a better deal at a competitor? Unfortunately, you’re out of luck.

This is a big shift — especially with the holidays around the corner!

Target’s Holiday Price Match Policy (2025)

We expect the seasonal price adjustment window to return from early November through December 24 — but it will be even more limited this year. Price adjustments will only apply to items found cheaper at Target.com or Target stores.

We hope to see an official announcement for the 2026 Target Holiday Price Match policy in early October. We’ll update asap with any changes we spot!
