Looking for a little extra motivation to get moving? Check out the StepBet Fitness Game and get steppin' with the PPP Team & Community! It will be fun ~ I sure hope you'll join us!
StepBet Game
Are you looking for a way to be more active? This may be just what you're looking for! (OH, and it's not too late to join since the first week is a warm-up week…I hope you'll join us!)
Tip: Join the next PPP game via this link in the Stepbet App OR with the game code “2024 Team PPP” (with spaces) – starting February 26th! I JUST saw that anyone who lasted the entire challenge in our last few challenges earned back $15.38 – so we got paid $5.38 after the $10 “bet” to walk and take care of ourselves each day. WOOHOOO!
We finished our VERY FIRST EVER PPP “StepBet” a few years ago and so many folks joined us (over thirteen hundred people signed up!) that I decided we ought to do it again in March this year! I'd love for you to join us (we do not make a SINGLE PENNY from this app – it's just a fun way to get some folks moving together!).
I KNOW this sounds suspicious and weird – BUT we promise it's not! 🙂
What is StepBet??
StepBet is a fitness game that motivates you to be more active – the cash prize (people tend to be more motivated when there's skin in the game!), accountability, and community support help build a more active lifestyle. Basically players “bet” on themselves to meet their step goals each week – and win money if they do. And they play in a group setting, which helps with accountability & encouragement.

How does StepBet work? It's easy!
After downloading the free StepBet app (from Google Play Store or App Store) and connecting your activity tracker, StepBet will use your step history to calculate personalized Active and Power goals. These goals are meant to be manageable but challenging for YOU and YOUR FITNESS LEVEL.
- Get your personalized step goals. Connect your phone or tracker to get personalized step goals for YOU.
- Bet into a game. Find a game that suits you and bet into the pot – there are a bunch of options with different hosts.
- Move, move, move! Hit your daily goals to advance to the next week (everyone has 2 Active Days, 4 Power Days, and 1 Rest Day).
- Win the game and split the pot! Everyone who finishes wins back their bet plus a profit.
What devices can I use with StepBet?
StepBet currently supports the following activity trackers:
- Garmin Trackers
- Apple Health via iPhone
- iPhone Apple Watch
- Fitbit (iPhone or Android)
- Android S Health, including phone and S Gear steps
- Android Google Fit via phone
Currently, the only wearable devices that are supported are Apple Watch, S Gear, Garmin, and Fitbit. If you don't have a wearable device and are using the Apple Health, Google Fit, or S Health apps on your phone, note that your steps must be tracked by carrying your phone with you.
What is the difference between Active and Power days?
Everyone's step goals will be different. There are 3 main sections for your weekly goals:
- Active Days – These are your typical step days – everyone has 4 Active days to meet.
- Power Days – These are the more challenging step days – everyone has 2 Power days to meet.
- Free Day – You can do whatever you want on this day (walk a bunch or not at all!).
If you hit both of your Power Days for the week on Monday and Tuesday and then are super active and get another Power Day on Wednesday, it will still count towards your Active Day goal.
(Note that if you are super motivated and get Power Days every single day of the challenge and decide to do another StepBet in the future, your personalized goals will jump up quite a bit for future bets. 😉 )
How do I win a StepBet?
Hit your goals each week and you'll get your entry fee back (most games are $40 – but are as little as $10) AND will split the remaining pot with other winners. If you miss your weekly goals, you will be disqualified from the game and won't get your entry fee back. Also, keep in mind that StepBet retains 15% of the gross pot to pay referees, transaction fees, paid game hosts, and administrative support.
EXAMPLE:
If 1,000 folks join a bet and each pay $10 to join, the initial pot starts at $10,000. Over the course of the game, say 300 people don't meet their goals and are disqualified. At the end of the game, the winnings would be calculated like this:
- $10,000 initial pot x 15% = $1,500 (what StepBet takes)
- $8,500 remaining pot / 700 winners
- Payout = $12.14 per winner
That means you'd get back your $10 entry fee AND make $2.14 profit! Now I know it's not a lot and the winnings vary per game, but it's definitely motivating and FUN to get steppin' with other folks!
How does the payout work?? The payout will be added to your account as points (usually 2-3 days after the game is over) and you can request a payout to your PayPal account or use the points towards another StepBet game.
What if everyone wins the game?? StepBet will forfeit their 15% cut and everyone will win their entry fee back.
(My friend Mary has been doing StepBets for several years now and she says the average winnings from the games are between $5-$10. She started by paying an entry fee of $40 and has used her winnings to pay for all of the games she's played since then. See a few of her game payouts above. Not too shabby!?)
StepBet Membership – What is it?
If you really want to take StepBet to the next level, you might consider getting their annual membership for $49.99/year. The same rules of the game still apply to members, but there are a few more perks.
Member perks include:
- Play up to 3 member-only games at once.
- Winners split 100% of the pot (StepBet doesn’t take 15%)
- Access to exclusive games with prizes & unique challenges.
Here's my cute walking buddy Ashley – she and I have walked a bajillion steps together ~ if you're struggling to get in enough steps ~Â find a friend and schedule it in!Â
Want to join the PPP StepBet?
This is a non-member game!
Since you all loved it so much during our “Be Awesome in April” Challenge last year (watch for more details coming soon about this year!), we're doing another of our very own PPP StepBet Challenges in April and May!
You DO have to pay a $10 “bet” or entry fee for this challenge (it's the lowest amount allowed for a challenge). BUT as long as you meet your personalized goals each week, you'll get your $10 back AND split the pot with other challenge winners. Note that StepBet takes a 15% cut of the winnings.
The goal of this challenge is simply to get moving and have fun (if your personalized goals seem too easy and you want an extra challenge 😉 , see if you can add 5K steps to them!).
Remember, you WILL NOT lose any money if you complete your goals and win the game. You’ll always get your initial entry fee back that you bet with – and a little profit, too.
I CAN'T WAIT – hope to see you there! Go HERE to get started!

Rose W Saulsbury says
It won’t let me join. I have a Samsung watch, but tried joining using Google Fit, but GF denied access and I can’t figure out how to get around it.
Bridgett - PPP Team says
Here’s what we found on their website Rose. If you go this link and scroll down to number 9 it tells what watches can be used with their app. It looks like Google Fit can only be used if you carry your phone. Hope that helps! 🙂 https://stepbet.com/faq
Ashlee says
Will we be doing a May walk?
Alice -PPP Team says
Hi Ashlee! Our latest StepBet Fitness Challenge ended May 7th!
KImberly Cusick says
I just downloaded Step Bets and unfortunately, I am too late to the game for PPP3, but ready for the next challenge!! Good luck everyone!!
Manda says
Will this round be PPP4?
Brooke says
Yes! It will begin April 3rd!
Carrie says
I have tried to sign up for PPP3 and it doesn’t exist…
Thanks!
Laurie says
Hi Carrie! Try this link! https://step.bet/hqCrGtcfUrb
Nicole says
Is this the link for the current challenge? I’m
New just making sure I’m doing this correctly
Laurie says
The link in the post should be to the current challenge Nicole! 🙂 We’re so glad you’re joining us ~ cheering for you!
Pam says
The code PPP3 doesn’t work. Neither does PPP4.
Bridgett - PPP Team says
So sorry about that! Try the code PPPWALK. Hope that helps! 🙂
Trayci says
Does anyone know – will there be a 3rd round?
Tricia says
I was wondering the same thing. I really hope there will be a 3rd round. This has helped me so much.
Tamara Nichols says
Why can’t I join the game? Is it because I waited until now to sign up?
Laurie says
Hmm, sadly it probably won’t let you join after the challenge has started Tamara ~ bummer! If we do another one in the future, hopefully you can join for that one! 🙂
Teresa says
I’m trying to join but I can’t move forward without accepting the $6.99 1-week trial. How can I get around that? I’m the worst at remembering to cancel subscriptions.
Mary ~ PPP Team says
Hi Teresa, you shouldn’t have to pay a $6.99 trial fee for StepBet – just the $10 entry fee that you can win back if you meet your goals. Where are you seeing a $6.99 fee?
Wendy says
I read the whole thing and I did not see where you have to pay a monthly fee to use the app! Don’t you think this information is important?? $6.99 a month for the app!!
Laurie says
Wendy – the $6.99 fee is optional – you don’t have to pay anything to use the app – just to make bets/join challenges! You can upgrade to the $6.99 membership if you like, and it will allow you to join more challenges (and a few other perks) – but it’s not necessary for our challenge 🙂 Hope that helps!
Rebecca says
Would love to join the Stepbet! Just logged in, but when I did the search for the group, it couldnt’t be found.
Laurie says
Just search “PPP” in stepbet. Hope that helps!
Lisa says
I, too, typed in PPP in the game search and it did not find it! What to do??
Rebecca says
Thanks, Laurie. I was able to find it from the home screen.
Susan says
Any deals on fitness trackers that work with this?
Emily says
I just saw an email from PPP that said there was a sale on apple watches. There might be some sales going on for Easter.
