This Star Caprese Appetizer is perfect for the 4th of July, and it’s SO EASY to assemble!

Ingredients:
- Fresh mozzarella
- Grape or cherry tomatoes
- Fresh basil leaves
- Balsamic glaze
- Toothpicks
- Small star-shaped cookie cutter

How to Make This Star Caprese Appetizer:
If your mozzarella comes in a ball, slice it into approximately 1/4-inch thick slices (or be smarter than me and buy the pre-sliced cheese).
Using a small star-shaped cookie cutter, cut star shapes from the mozzarella slices.
Thread one mozzarella star onto a toothpick, followed by a tomato, a basil leaf, and a second mozzarella star.
Arrange the skewers on a serving platter and drizzle with balsamic glaze just before serving.

Super easy! Enjoy!
If you’re making these for Fourth of July hosting, you can do all the assembly ahead of time and store in the fridge for a few hours. Just save the balsamic drizzle until right before serving so it doesn’t start soaking in to the stars.
Pro Tip: Save the leftover mozzarella scraps for salads, pizzas, or pasta dishes.

These turned out so cute! We especially love that they can be made ahead of time, making party prep a little less stressful. Be sure to save this recipe, share it with a friend, and add it to your Fourth of July menu this year!
