If you've wondered about the silicon toilet brush – we've got you covered! Toss your nasty toilet brush that sits in a puddle of filth and switch to this sleek bowl cleaner.
Silicon Toilet Brush Review
Jamie here! If you struggle with gross toilet scrubber brushes and are looking for something a bit different – this might be your next “Add To Cart” item on Amazon!
This Sellemer Toilet Brush caught my eye recently as I was ready to toss my former toilet brush. I read a bajillion reviews for different silicon toilet brushes and this one emerged as my favorite. (Also – it's on sale for under $14 right now!)
Here's what I liked about this unconventional scrub brush:
Silicon cleaning nubs instead of traditional bristles – which means that tangled hair and other dirty debris don't cling to it.
It's very compact – sleek even – if you can call a toilet brush “sleek” 😉 (Would be great for Small Bathrooms or RVs)
The silicon head is stiff but bends to clean under the rim and around the hole.
Can be mounted to the wall or a nearby cabinet.
Ventilated Base allows the brush to dry between cleanings – unlike the disgusting puddle in my old base.
So I ordered and gave it a try! Here's my honest review:
Easy To Use
It was very easy to put together – just screw the handle pieces together and voila! The brush was sturdy and the numbs didn't feel flimsy. I sprayed a few sprays of Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Grime Fighter (I was out of toilet cleaner to squirt under the rim) and started in on scrubbing. I was impressed that the head of the brush bent to get under the rim pretty well – and did a great job getting down into the center hole.
Bendable Bristle Head
I couldn't “Scrub” hard in the way I'm used to doing with a traditional brush – but after a few passes of “rubbing the nubs” around, it still seemed to clean very well. It reached everywhere I needed to clean perfectly. I wasn't able to get every speck out from under the edge of the toilet – but I'm not sure whether to dock points here because again – I didn't have any of that clingy toilet cleaner. (I think that probably makes a difference.)
Slim Shape Can Mount or Free Stand
I opted not to mount it to our wall or vanity (Just showing what that would look like in the picture above), but it's very stable standing on its own on the floor. Love the ventilation so there's no nasty puddle in the bottom.
Final Verdict:
A great replacement option for your traditional toilet brush. Cleans moderately well, dries in a more sanitary way, and has a sleek, compact profile. Not too pricey either!
If you want one of my other favorite toilet cleaning products….
Toilet Cleaning Gel:
Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Gel Stamper would work GREAT alongside the silicon toilet brush!
Living with 4 boys and a hubby means I deal with extra yucky bathrooms – and this little gadget is one of my favorite cleaning supplies! (And NO this is not a sponsored post – I just really really like it!)
The Scrubbing Bubbles Fresh Gel stamper dispenses a blob of toilet gleaning gel to the inside of your bowl. You just push it down and leave a super-fresh smelling stamp.
Then every time you flush, the water swishes around the bowl and some of the gel mixes in with it. Days later your bowl water will still get a little bubbly after a flush!
It keeps hard water stains from forming and makes the bathroom smell sooooooo nice with every flush. Each Stamper comes with 6 refill stamps that last a week or two each. (Depending on how often the toilet gets flushed.)
