Shark StainStriker Review
Jamie here! Sixteen years ago my 4 little boys were playing hide and seek and one of them hid in my closet… When he was found – he dropped his sippy cup and in his excitement, stepped on it and the lid popped off. A full cup of “Juicy Juice Kiwi Strawberry” poured out and stained my carpet and that's how that story ends. OR DOES IT?
I just got the Shark StainStriker to use on the minivan and carpets, but my first test was on THIS STAIN. I've had nothing but EXCELLENT experiences with Shark products and customer service – so I felt confident it would be a good product.
Here's how it went:
The Shark Stainstriker is fairly compact, and comes with a few attachments (Crevice Tool, Cleaning Brush and Pet Mess tool) and two cleaning solutions. The first is the Deep Clean Pro concentrate and the second one the Shark Oxy Multiplier. Once you've added these to their respective tanks you're ready to go:
- Pick the attachment that best suits your job and click it onto the cleaning wand.
- Turn on the power and the suction will automatically begin (it is always sucking)
- Squeeze the trigger to spray the solution and wet the carpet or upholstery
- Note: You DON'T HAVE TO LET IT SIT – just scrub it in with the scrubber and drag the suction back over the wet spot to pull the soiled water out.
I dont know the science fo their proprietary cleaners, but I DO KNOW the Shark Stainstriker that it got a 16 year old stain out of my carpet without even letting it sit on the stain. It was spray, scrub, suction – Gone! I went over it once again the next day because I wanted to get it as close to original shape as possible. I think with the carpet being so thick and the juice going down into the fibers, I may even need to go over it once more as the deeper stain comes to the surface. But this really really works.
I have NOT tried the Shark StainStriker on any upholstery yet – but I have plans this weekend to tackle the Jeep driven by every teenage boy in my household at one point or another. I'll report back with additional findings!
