This fun movie snack box is perfect for movie nights this summer and contains all of your family's favorite snacks. Here's how to make it!
Movie Snack Box
If you're planning a movie night this summer, these “snackle boxes” (because they look like tackle boxes ;)) are the PERFECT way to contain all of your family's favorite snacks in an easy-to-transport and cute way! If you're planning a drive-in movie, a backyard projector night, or if your local theater allows outside food, this is such a great way to pack your snacks.
This movie night spin is inspired by PPP's own Road Trip Snackle Boxes. Love how compact they are for cross country snackin'!
To make these fun trays for movie night, I used these food safe craft/tackle boxes. I love that you can change the position of the vertical pieces to make more or less space as needed. Plus, they have a tight lid so I don't have to worry about them spilling in the car.
If you're planning a special movie night at home, this is just one more thing that you can add to make it a bit more memorable!
How to make a movie night snack box
First, I ran to the grocery store to pick up our traditional movie night snacks. I wanted a mix of salty, sweet, and a few nutritious options to choose from. Here's what I grabbed:
Here are some fun movie night snack ideas if you need inspiration:
- Popcorn (I went with a bag of Skinny Pop to make it easy)
- Crackers
- Pretzels (chocolate or yogurt covered or plain)
- Gummy worms, Twizzlers, Gummy bears, Swedish Fish
- M&Ms, Whoppers, Sno Caps
- Peanuts or mixed nuts
- Carrot sticks
- Grapes, strawberries, blueberries
- Dried fruits
- Cheese sticks or wedges
- Turkey sausage sticks
- You could even grab reusable muffin liners like these and put in dips or salsa with chips!
Once I gathered all my yummy “ingredients” together, I took out a couple of the dividers to make larger spaces for things like popcorn and grapes. Then, I just started pouring the snacks into their spots! These containers are so handy – I'm imagining all of the other snack boxes I can make!
Ready for movie night! I love that you can make these in advance and just add refrigerated items before you go, saving some time and sanity for mom – who is probably prepping everything else for the fun!
