Clear out your LEGO collection with the LEGO Brick Take Back program! Send in used bricks, keep them out of landfills, and earn LEGO e-Gift Card rewards.
LEGO Will Pay You for Your LEGOs with Brick Take Back!
Ever stepped on a stray LEGO brick in the middle of the night and thought, “WHY do we have so many of these?!” Good news – LEGO has finally come up with a solution that’s actually kind of brilliant.
They’ve launched a Brick Take Back Program that lets you send in your unused bricks, keep them out of the landfill, and earn e-Gift Cards in return. Yes, please!
How it works:
- Sort and disassemble your bricks (minifigures can stay as-is, but no electronics, packaging, or instruction booklets).
- Pack up your bricks (there’s a weight limit per box) and print out the free shipping label LEGO provides.
- Ship them off — once LEGO verifies your shipment, you’ll get an e-Gift Card based on the weight of your bricks. For example, you could snag $62.50 for around 25 pounds of used LEGOs – that’s a lot of moolah for a pile of bricks you’re not using!
Things to keep in mind:
- The program is still a pilot, so reward rates, limits, and eligible pieces may change — always double-check the official site first.
- Not every piece counts — sorting and cleaning goes a long way toward getting credit.
- There are shipment limits (weight caps), and the program may only be available in select areas for now.
Why we love this idea
- It keeps LEGOs in play and out of the trash.
- It clears out those overflowing toy bins (without the mom-guilt ).
- And the best part? You get rewarded for decluttering — win/win!
You could potentially earn more by selling your used LEGOs to someone on Nextdoor or Facebook Marketplace, but this is such an easy, no-hassle way to clear out random bricks (and actually get something back for them!).
