One of our friends recently hosted a Murder Mystery party with a 1930's theme. I have to say it was just as much fun getting ready as it was playing! I was originally going to go to the thrift store, but I ended up finding a dress on Amazon. I went to Party City to grab gloves and the headpiece for under $20 (thanks to the sweet employee giving me her employee discount).
I plan on wearing the dress again to a friend's wedding (that my husband is a groomsman in), so it really just cost the price of the headpiece and gloves. The suit my husband is wearing in the picture above is for that wedding as well. So win/win!
I have to say this was a really fun way to have a fun get-together for low cost! The hostess just had everyone bring a side or dessert. (If you need some ideas I would highly recommend this recipe box 🙂 ) It was just a fun evening with friends ~ I would highly recommend it. 🙂

We did a Murder Mystery years ago. It was based on employees of a Pineapple Plantation in Hawaii. We actually did it twice, once with my husband’s family and once with mine. It was so much fun. It may be time to do another!
