These really do just brighten up a room – and if take care of properly can grown to 10′ high if kept indoors! Our store had these right by the registers.  It's nice too that if you're new to taking care of plants, you're not spending a ton on these (and care for them is pretty easy!).

But, the Fiddle Leaf Fig…IMO it’s not ‘care for them is pretty easy!’ They are one of the pickiest, finicky plants you can find. Not enough sun, nope. Breezy spot you sit it in, nope. Don’t talk nice enough to it, nope… They are crazy beautiful, picky plants that are SO much fun to have & try to keep alive!!
Wow, really?! Have you had that rich trouble with your FLF?! I was genuinely surprised to read that! I too have become a plant lady…in the summer time I come home with 2/3 new plants a week…easily!! More than have my babies are succulents though so we’re not always talking about a plant thats the size a FLF can get to, but I have mine tucked in a corner behind the front door of my sunroom…it basically gets ignored lol but it’s just keeps growing and growing! I even had to do battle with a spider mite infestation (seriously almost pushed me over the edge) but eventually I was able to win my FLF back and it’s just starting to regain some of the ground it lost in the fight…I had alot of casualties (dead/damaged leaves).
I’m sorry you’ve had such negative experiences with them. They have such a unique look. One of my favorites!! You should definitely try again!! Maybe you’ll get lucky this time!!
