If you're wondering about Faster Way to Fat Loss – here's my experience and how it helped me lose weight (and maintain that weight loss) in my 40's!
Faster Way to Fat Loss Review
I wrote this post about my journey last year – but I have NEW codes for you for 2022 (yay!) =>> here's the latest Faster Way to Fat Loss Coupon and info on Monday's Round!
I'm frequently asked about my weight loss story. Through the years I have tried so many programs and want to share an honest review of the Faster Way To Fat Loss program. I have been doing this program to lose weight (and then maintain it) since 2016 and I love it!
Let me start by showing you my Faster Way to Fat Loss before and after. On the Left (see above) is January 2016 when I'd let some of my weight creep back up after moving to Ohio; on the right is December 2018 after maintaining my extra 20 pound weight loss for two years doing this program.
It's now December of 2021 and I've maintained the weight loss for quite a few years (even throughout the Covid which I was afraid would ruin me!) Kind of craziness this last year, but I'm so thankful for this program! I have DEFINITELY been lazier this last year and am SO READY to start fresh in 2022. While I've maintained my weight loss and haven't gained any weight (I still weigh every day because that just works for me!), I have gotten a little lazier with my work out schedule and eating habits. I'm ready to reign it all in in 2022 and will follow the Faster Way to Fat Loss plan to keep me on track!
What Is Faster Way to Fat Loss?
Ever considered the Faster Way to Fat Loss program? Let me tell you how well it's worked for me and why I love it!
The Faster Way to Fat Loss is a weight loss program I'm currently using (AND LOVE!) that is a combined fitness and nutrition program geared towards women. It's a HIGHLY EFFECTIVE mix of:
- Intermittent Fasting
You eat in an 8-hour window throughout the plan. - Carb Cycling
You eat certain nutritional macros throughout the week based on your daily workout. - Daily Workout
Includes weights and cardio that can be done at the gym or at home.
Faster Way is opening up a new round BEGINNING JANUARY 10th! SEVERAL PPP readers (and a few of my friends) went through the last round and have seen SO much success (I've gotten several emails and it just makes my day!)
If you've been struggling with your weight, I promise this will change YOUR life too ~ go HERE to learn more.
I'm often asked about my weight loss story, and since it's the New Year (and everyone like me is looking forward to an amazing 2022), I decided this was the perfect time to share with you again.
My Weight Loss Story
(Left – me as a junior in high school – probably around 200 pounds before gaining another 25 pounds to my heaviest at 225; right, me at 43)
Here is why I was motivated to start my journey YEARS ago – and have been thrilled with my success.
Way back in 1995 I made a New Years’s Resolution that actually stuck.
I was tipping the scales at 225 as a sophomore in college, and for the first time ever (I really have no idea why), something clicked and I decided I was just done with being overweight.
I was miserable, had lived my life miserably, and decided I wanted a different future for myself.
I’d always been heavy. I never knew what it was like to shop in the regular size kids department. At age 7, I remember my mom moving me up to junior clothing, and shortly after that to women’s and plus size clothing. It was just part of who I was. I never went to prom, never wore a fancy dress, never even had a single date as a chubby girl.
Almost twenty five years later, I still every so often see that chunky girl staring back at me.
But somehow I got started, and slowly the weight dropped off. During that year I dropped a whopping seventy-five pounds, and I’ve maintained that drop in weight for almost twenty five years now, give or take ten (um … twenty?) pounds or so. But it was SO HARD and SO PUNISHING.
I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO HAVE FOUND THIS PROGRAM TWENTY YEARS AGO INSTEAD.
The left was me as a junior in high school and had stopped taking pictures (full size pics were banned completely!). I topped out at 225 as a sophomore in college.
Here's Where Faster Way To Fat Loss Comes In:
Over the years to maintain my weight loss, I've tried just about every diet out there because I simply refuse to go back…
But in 2016, I finally landed on the perfect I'm-going-to-live-like-this-forever LIFESTYLE (not diet!) for me.
And it was life-changing (all over again!) for me.
I hadn't gained much weight, but after moving to Ohio and struggling with some serious sadness, I was watching my weight creep up a bit. I'd put on around 20lbs that I didn't want to carry around and decided it was time to try FWTFL.
Within just a few months I'd dropped 20 lbs.
Me in January of 2016 on left, December 2017 on right
I realized I have three children and wanted to figure out this whole weight-thing (so that they wouldn't watch their mom struggle her whole life with her weight). I wanted to show them that no matter what gene pool God gives them, they can do the very best with exactly the perfect body God created for them (thick chunky thighs and all ~ I'm now thankful for these thighs and cheer them on with my kids because God made us strong and I'm grateful!)
Truly, I wanted to find something that truly would work for anyone….
AND IT DOES. IT TRULY WORKS.
It's not super-easy but there are absolutely no gimmicks. (After the first week I've found it MUCH easier than anything else I've tried though – getting through that first few days is a little overwhelming, but after that you'll be all set.)
It's basic, wise nutrition including carb cycling with some intermittent fasting thrown in. (If you're new to intermittent fasting, it's eating in a smaller window – so for me, I eat most days between 11AM and 7PM – VERY doable after you've done the first week!)
(Me, December 2018 feeling pretty fancy for a date night with my hubby and SO VERY THANKFUL to have found this program!)
Over the course of just a few months using The Faster Way To Fat Loss, I managed to drop almost twenty pounds to my lowest weight EVER (at age forty-two!) and I've maintained that weight loss since then without feeling deprived.
I just love that.
While I've splurged quite a bit over the holidays, I was thrilled to step on the scale this morning and only be up 2 pounds even after traveling and not stressing much at all about my diet over Christmas. I would love love love to see a few more pounds gone, but I'm pretty thrilled with my weight right now (I'm a size 6-8 ~ something this sized-24-eighteen-year-old-never dreamed would happen at 45!)
So can you do this?
I know you can.
If you've struggled with your weight ~ my heart aches for you to find a plan that guarantees success.
I know how awful it is to always feel like the chubby girl. I know what it's like to feel hopeless and like you have no control. But I also know this will work for you if you're just willing to commit for a few weeks and really do it.
I PROMISE.
We can do this.
just like in our finances, WE HAVE CONTROL over this area of our lives.
Goodness. I love that.
you and I just need to learn how.

Faster Way to Fat Loss Cost
I'll be honest – there are DEFINITELY less expensive options to losing weight, but for me this has WORKED. It was worth every single penny. However, if your finances are tight right now, do some research and see what other methods are out there for you. Maybe determine to pinch a few pennies in your budget to join at a later date!
The basic cost is $199 for a 6-Week program.
This includes access to the portal/app as well as coaching, workouts, community fb groups and more. If you want to join in for another six week round, you'll pay a reduced price. And after that, you can go it alone or join their VIP group for a monthly fee.
You can quit after 6 months with the resources and experience you need to continue losing weight the FWTFL way. You have to be willing to work, but if you do I know you'll see results.
More about the program:
- This program has been incredibly successful for women who have a foundation of basic working out and under 100 pounds to lose.
- The program is challenging and will require commitment.
- If you have more than 100 pounds to lose and have not worked out in a long time, then the program will work for you, but will require some modifying.
- If that’s you, you will start with the nutritional cycle then ease you into our workouts. (I personally would recommend following the diet and adding a simple walk each day to ease into working out.)
- This program is NOT for: women who are breastfeeding newborns, those who are significantly underweight, those who have struggled with an eating disorder, or those who are suffering from significant adrenal fatigue.
If you're ready to change your future and truly care for yourself well this year, head on over HERE to learn more. I know you can do this, and can't wait to hear about your success!

The beginning of this year I joined a weight loss program that teaches you basically to eat everything fat free and lean meats with veggies. No exercise unless you want to. A lot of people had lost and kept it off with that program and they gave you meal plans and you could substitute any meal for another one. I told them I don’t cook anymore and I didn’t want to. I have lupus along with some other issues so I don’t feel like cooking a lot or standing on my feet a lot. I cooked all of our meals 3 meals a day for 20 years. I just don’t want to anymore. So my husband does most of it now. But they told me there wouldn’t be a lot of cooking. They lied. It’s a ton of prep and plan ahead. And this program gave you a year to lose your weight and they gave monthly checkups to make sure you didn’t gain it back. It had a ton of support. But it was $1100 upfront!!! I’ve never spent that much. But I knew several people that did great on it and looked great so I financed it and I wish I hadn’t. I went twice and that was it. I quit! I had one other friend that did like me. And they don’t offer any money back. But it’s basically just lean meats, certain veggies & fat free stuff. I wish I’d spent only $199! I don’t have the extra money but I may try this anyway. My doc did prescribe me ozempic for weight loss and it started falling off! It’s amazing! But idk if it will last for life. I need something to make sure I don’t gain anything back. I like the idea of this. I was 245! I weighed 235 the day I had my twins but I was bigger than that. I lost 30lbs on my own but after I turned 40 I could starve & barely lose anything. It took me a year to get that 30lbs off but it stopped and I was stuck. My doctor wrote ozempic and it literally started falling off. I got down to 188 but the shots are costing me $240 a month. That’s for 4 shots and lasts one month but that’s expensive and I can’t do it forever. Btw, I love peanut butter and could live on it! But lately money has been tight so I haven’t had a shot in over a month. I can tell my appetite is coming back & so is my weight. I do NOT want to go back where I was. I’m going to give this a try. Thank you for sharing! So many will take compliments but won’t tell you what they are doing because they want to be the only one that looks great. I’m all about sharing and everyone looking great. I can’t wait to get started! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!

You should try the salted caramel Swiss miss on Amazon. It’s delicious. And recently they ran it on sale for $1.68 a box. I had to stock up for my youngest daughter.

I just wanted you to know I’ve always wanted to ask God why I got tiny legs, ankles, and no butt but I got a bigger upper body. All the women in my family have the larger upper body. Back in the late 80’s early 90’s when pants suits were all the rage my mom would sneak and put a large top with a medium bottom and hope during checkout the lady at the register didn’t check the sizes. Most of the time she got away with it but every now and then someone would check and so oh it’s a good thing I looked because these got mixed up. Yeah it wasn’t a good thing because my top and bottom didn’t match. I got told all the time once spring and summer would come around and someone would see me in shorts oh you have tiny legs and ankles! My friends that were cheerleaders or played sports mostly had thicker legs and ankles from working out and training. So they would really be surprised when they saw mine. And yeah I was proud of my tiny legs and ankles but I was so jealous of their tiny upper arms & super flat stomachs. I wasn’t big. I was 5’7” and weighed 140 to 145 my last 2 years of high school. I was a nice size. But it never failed we would have swimming parties to attend and they all wore bikinis. Well I was too self conscious to wear a bikini just because I wasn’t as flat as they were. In clothes, because I was the most blessed of all the women in my family with the girls upstairs I could always stand up straight and it would make my stomach look flatter. But when you are in a swimsuit that doesn’t work. When we would sit down I had a small roll but they didn’t. So I never wore a bikini. Matter of fact I wore the only 1 piece I could find that had shorts as the bottom instead of the grandma skirt because the women in my family were also blessed with too much bikini line hair that didn’t know where the bikini line stopped and the leg started. I had super super sensitive skin so all the very few hair removal methods we had back then really broke me out. So it was show off the hair, have a lovely red rash to show, or just cover it completely. Of course, I chose to cover it completely. And I was the ONLY teenager that had on a suit that had shorts or anything that came down on your legs to cover that area. I got looks but not the kind I wanted. The ones like why would you wear that! It was so humiliated! I HATED when we had anything where I had to wear a swimsuit. It was the one time where I couldn’t hide my flaws in a fashionable way. The only thing that remotely kept their eyes off the ugly suit was the big girls that were bigger than anyone else’s and were still not too big. They were just bigger than the rest but still young firm and were exactly where they were supposed to be located. No sag. If not for them I probably would have avoided all swimming events. But all the women in my family had the upper arms that were a little bigger than the rest of our arms. The bottom are small and I have small wrists. Just the upper part is a little too big. We also have the wonderful wide shoulders. Not the cute small feminine ones. And no matter how small we get we still just have a little bit of a belly. It will not go flat! But I’ve never tried working out to make it flat. That might be possible. When I was a teen working out wasn’t a thing and no one did it. Unless you danced to sweating to the oldies like my mom did. I just wanted you to know that some of us are the reverse. We got the bigger upper body and smaller lower body. I would like to have a small rounded rear. As a teen I had a little one. I said after pushing out 5 babies I think I pushed my rear out too. It’s flat as a pancake! You can’t tell where my rear ends and my legs begin. I promise it’s bad! If it wasn’t for my girls taking away some of the attention from my misshapen upper body I would have had a lot less confidence than I do now. And it wasn’t great to begin with. We all have flaws and none of us are perfect. If we were we wouldn’t have that perfect body we are gonna get to look forward to. My grandma always told me if we all were alike life sure would be boring. She embraced being different and said that’s what makes life interesting. I’ve tried to live by that.

What is the difference in this program and beach body program may I ask?
Andrea Becker says
With this weight los plan, how does this pair with your menu boxes? I bought them all.
Thanks.

So if I did not join by Jan 10, when can I start? Anytime?
Laurie says
Hi T! YES – they regularly start new rounds every few weeks – sign up here if you’re interested! https://passionatepennypincher.com/go/fwtfl
Chris says
How do you have 3 meals in 8 hrs? I thought it would be 2 meals for intermittent fasting. I have done this before but then stopped and gained back what I lost.
Laurie says
Hi Chris ~ you can always tweak it to whatever works best for you! 🙂
Dave says
Can we switch it to eating breakfast in the morning and not eating dinner?
Laurie says
I think that would work as long as you stuck to a 16 hour eating window – hope that helps!
Sheila says
Hi! I have taken a look at your sample meals. Question- since I work, it would be challenging to bring some of the suggested meals. Is there an alternative? Thanks!
Kristen ~ PPP Team says
Hi Sheila, I can imagine that would be tricky to figure out. I’m not actually sure if there are alternatives. Here’s the website that you can look into further and maybe they can answer the questions. I know I’ve made some substitutions over the years but I’m not sure what they would say.

Thank you so much for sharing your personal story. You are such an inspiration to others in SO many ways. I had a thought. Maybe you could team up with Amanda and do the Freezer/ Crockpot meals for the 6 weeks for FWTFL program? I am starting back as a VIP but when I did the program 3 years ago it was so much harder to follow and no app or small group support. I love having little goals to check off so even the “fail” days are not bad. We’ll see how this goes. I love following you and appreciate your positive attitude and great ideas. Happy New Year.
Kim Ragsdale says
Hi Laurie! I saw this in the latest email, and wanted to ask a question. Maybe in the last week or so you posted about some work-puts over on YouTube. I can’t find where you talked about them, can you please tell me where to find, who they are by, or the name again? I would greatly appreciate it! Happy New Year!
Kelly Barger says
Hi!
I received your crock pot tin for Christmas. We love it!!! I feel like my evenings are free and so much more relaxing. How would this play into the program that has worked so well for you?
Laurie says
Yayyy ~ so glad you love it Kelly! 🙂 Some of the recipes are more health conscience than others, but you can sometimes just pair the meat part of the meal with a salad and skip the more carb-heavy items ~ hope that helps!
Aimee says
Do you eat all of the meals you sell in the meal plans and still loose or main weight?
Laurie says

Can you do a protein shake or smoothie before 11am?

Hi, Laurie!
I’ve been watching your videos & following you on Facebook for about 6 months now! Thank you for all you do to encourage Moms in their all important roles of raising precious kids, maintaining their homes, loving their husbands, children & God! I’ve learned sooo much from you, & you always brighten my day!!
Your weight loss story is such an inspiration & so encouraging as I work towards better health after having 6 children. I’d love to lose 30-40lbs, & this plan sounds awesome! Keto would never fly long term for me, lol, but this sounds great! I was wondering if you have a link to share to sign up with Amanda, who you referenced in these comments? God bless you & your family, Laurie! I’m praying for your daughter’s upcoming surgery!
Laurie says
Hi Ginny – I’m so glad you’re here (and thank you for the encouragement on my sweet girl!)
Here’s a link to the FWTFL – thank you for taking the time to ask for it, I appreciate it so much! I truly have loved it and wish I’d learned about it years ago. I’m cheering for you and know you’ll see success! https://www.fasterwaytofatloss.com/#ppp
Hugs!

Hi Laurie, I so appreciate all that you do for your followers. I have a sister that started FWTFL and has lost over 40 lbs since Sept, I think. I’m not in a position to pay for the plan right now, but I am trying to eat cleaner and stay within the hours to eat.
My question for you is how do the recipes in the tin line up with the program? Do you eat all the meals? When there is pasta or bread, what’s your alternate? Just trying to figure out as I’ve only cooked one full week of the recipes. Thank you!
Laurie says
Hi Kim – thank you so much for sharing! I honestly just really limit my portions (it was definitely harder during crocktober- not gonna lie because thsoe meals were so yummy!) and I usually eat just the meat and a big salad. I also substitute low carb tortillas (like today for lunch I had grilled pork tenderloin on a low carb tortilla), and focus on getting in as many veggies as I can in place of the carbs. And again, gosh, so much portion control for me ~ I really work hard to make sure I’m eating reasonably sized meals (my plate at dinner is usually 2/3 filled with salad and I eat that before anything else to help fill me up!) Hope that helps (and best of luck as you get started!)
Jan says
I just google your weight loss back in the day. You are a inspiration to us all. I was a young girl of 15 when I lost 65 lbs. did it over the Spring/summer. Went back to school in fall nobody knew me. Lost 65. I was 175 at 5’4” down 110. All because I wanted stirrup pants when they were popular . I got them! I stayed the weight give 10 lbs or so until in my 50’s. Then it creep back on. I am 70 but losing weight is a battle. I am comfortable but not obese. I’m healthy so I just maintain it. I’m always saying just lose 25. I go to the gym and eat healthy most of the time. I love watching you. Makes me feel young again. Jan Roddick. Big fan!!

Thank you Jan for your kind words – I’m so glad you take time to keep up with PPP! I love that you’re heading to the gym and hope that 2020 is just an amazing year for you! Hugs!

I understand cost being prohibitive. If this is allowed to be shared, check out any book by Gin Stephens on Intermittent Fasting. You can even check it out at the library to see if it might be for you. Only cost is the book if you decide to use it and there are many Facebook groups associated with Gin and Delay Don’t Deny.
Tasha says
Hi, is this like keto?
Laurie says
Hi Tasha! Two – three days a week it is low carb (not as low as keto, but fewer than 50 net carbs). The other days you change out your macros (fat/protein/carbs), to balance things out. For me it’s been a great alternative to keto (as I love my carbs!) 🙂 Hope that helps!
Rise (pronounced REE-suh) says
Laurie,
I am not one who has ever liked to exercise. I do try to walk most days. Can you tell me about what this requires? Also, how is the plan similar to Keto and what do you mean by carb-cycling. I am 50+ with Hoshimoto’s, too. I just really want to lose. The eating hours and other things you describe really seem doable! Thank you for all you do. I love your website, emails and videos!
Laurie says

The other days you change out your macros (fat/protein/carbs), to balance things out. For me it’s been a great alternative to keto (as I love my carbs!) The exercise portion matters for sure (she has daily workouts for you), but what you eat matters SO MUCH – more than exercise even. BUT, I will challenge you 🙂 to decide in 2020 to exercise – I don’t know that I naturally love it, but when I don’t do it, I find myself struggling a little with depression, being overwhelmed, and so much more lethargic. Even if you can just walk a mile each day, I PROMISE it is worth it – please for me tackle that one this year! And I do think the program is great for so many things – if it’s in your budget I think the group and community there will be amazing for you. Hugs! (And goodness, thanks so much for keeping up with PPP!)

Hi Laurie,
Thanks so much for sharing your weight loss journey. I was always the skinny kid and desperate to gain weight. But when my first child was born premature and was in the hospital for 5 months, 2 days before he passed, I became an emotional eater. I have had a significant weight gain and now have medical issues to top it off. I know exercise is extremely important but have problems with walking, etc. Will this “life style change” still work even if exercise is not done? I know I will feel better if I would lose 75-80 pounds. Help?
Amber says
I am insulin resistant and have about 20lbs to lose. I have been doing low carb for a while, so I think this program could work for me. I am looking for my “forever lifestyle”. I am tired of trying different programs. I was wondering what maintenance is like after the 6 weeks. Also, I was wondering if you eat differently from the rest of your family.
Laurie says
Hi Amber! I’ve been maintaining this now for 2 years and totally feel like it’s a “forever lifestyle” – I don’t think I could always do low carb, so this is a great balance for me and most importantly it WORKS!
I don’t eat all that differently from my family (I don’t cook at least any differently than I did before) – the big changes for me are that I skip whatever pasta/bread they might be having (honestly, we all eat a little less bread), and make sure to have a big salad or soup sometimes in the winter at every meal. So, like last night we had grilled chicken caesar salads, and my youngest who isn’t a huge salad fan had grilled chicken with fresh veggies – I also made dinner rolls for my husband and kids. We all eat the same protein at meals, I just make sure to have an alternative to whatever carb they might be eating (I wish I could get them off carbs even more but I’m not sure I can win at that battle!) 🙂 Hope that helps !:)

Hi Laurie,
You mentioned that you have done Weigh Down Workshop in the past. I did too (19-20 years ago) and did find success but I honestly felt like it became almost a stronghold mindset -does that make sense? I am the heaviest I have ever been now and really feel like I am hearing about this program everywhere I look. How would you compare the mindset to WDW? I like the freedom I feel with food now but I know I am eating too much of it and not moving my body enough…
Laurie says
Hi Kristen! This is VERY different than the Weight Down Workshop – it has a specific plan set up, and you follow it pretty closely. You do have to follow it for it to work, but I love that the strategy DOES work, and has made me realize how often I’ve eaten in the past just because it was time to eat again – not truly because I was feeding my body well. I really have loved this program and feel like I’ll do it forever – it’s been so life changing for me!

I’m so interested in the FASTer way to fat loss— can you tell me what the protein intake looks like. I don’t like most meat (but I’m not a vegetarian… just crazy picky) and most diet plans revolve around meats I won’t eat.
Thank you for sharing your well with us!
Laurie says
Hi Laura! If you eat chicken or even eggs those could fulfill your macros to get you to the right place? I don’t eat a ton of meat either, most chicken (and eggs!) Does that help at all?
Laura says
Hi Laurie
I have followed you for a couple of years on FB. I love the recipes, budgeting tips and sales you share. More than anything, I follow you for your honesty, family values and your Christian walk. I appreciate it so much!
I am very interested in the FASTer way to fat loss but am a SAHM of 4 littles on a small-town-police-officer’s-income. I need to be very wise about where to spend my money but I am desperate to lose the postpartum weight. My baby is 1 and has weaned. I have had a hard time losing anything because I suspect my hormones are out of wack (I hope weaning and some diet changes will help.) Before I make the investment in this I need some honest answers:
I am NOT a low fat diet person. I know hormones need healthy fat to function properly. What is the stance on fats in this program?
I teach at 4:00am. Can I have coffee, with cream, while in the fast?
What is the total financial cost? What do I pay after the initial 12 weeks? Is it 12 weeks???
I have a rowing machine, some workout videos and 2 sets of hand weights. Will that work? I have no gym in the town I live in?
I now you are not the inventor of this program, but I appreciate you candid story about your experience and I hope you will be give me some honest feedback.
Thank you again for all you do on your blog and FB page. It is so encouraging to a SAHMama like myself!

Hi Laura – I appreciate you taking the time to comment so much! You do not do low fat on this plan (at all.) Instead you do carb cycling, with 2-3 days a week of low carbs + carb cycling on other days. You do fast until 12 – I wake up at 4:30 AM and usually have my coffee (with low calorie hot chocolate!) at 9, but still try not to have a meal until 12:30 or so, then I finish eating around 6:30 – 7 PM.
I think it may be worth just trying to do the fasting portion (eating in a 6-7 hour window) for now, however I think Amanda gives SO much more information in the course, but it is an investment – I believe the cost is $199. I would try the fasting first (and limiting carbs) and then see how it goes – I hope it goes so well for you – I know figuring out our bodies after having babies is so hard, but you’re at such a great place to start! Hope that helps!

*just a little note, change the date of your 2nd picture from December 2018 since that hasn’t happened yet 🙂
And great job on everything you have done! I wish I was ready to start but my son is in the hospital a lot and I can’t commit yet.

Oops Trisha – you’re right on those dates! I’ll be praying for your son – give yourself oodles of grace as you go through this season! Hugs 🙂
