Goodness gracious, does anyone else feel summer is just flying by wayyyyyyy too fast this year? We've been racing for the last month after traveling to Kentucky, Alabama and Tennessee, and just this weekend I made a short trip to Atlanta for the Haven conference. (Whew!)
As soon as I got home from my flight we headed to take my youngest to church camp for two days (she had a blast!) While Jackson was away at band camp during the day Caroline and I had fun scoring deals and enjoying some free summer fun. Yesterday we headed to Office Depot, and scored everything above for just $5.18. (WOOHOO!)
Here's how we did it:
- Bought 3 bottles of glue 1¢ each with $5 purchase
- Bought 3 lined index cards 1¢ each with $5 purchase
- Bought 3 unlined index cards 1¢ each with $5 purchase
- Bought 3 black ink 10 package pens 1¢ each with $5 purchase
- Bought 3 black ink 10 package pens 1¢ each with $5 purchase
- Bought 3 black ink 10 package pens 1¢ each with $5 purchase
- Bought 2 pencil pouches $1 each
- Bought 1 Master Lock $1
- Total = $5.18
Note: our store allowed us to have 3 each of the black, red and grey pens, as well as 3 sets of lined and unlined index cards. Easy way to stock up, and great deals to donate to a local school or food pantry!
We made a quick run into TJMaxx (we're hoping to find her some cute tennis shoes on sale, but no luck so far!) While we were there though I noticed a ton of super cute 3 piece extra long comforter sets for just $34.99. Such a great way to score a fantastic price if you have kids heading off to college!
And yesterday our Fitbits arrived from last week's Fitbit sale on Ebay. Caroline is quite the competitor, so she's determined to beat both me and her cousins in her daily walking count.
To help us get some extra steps in we spent an hour climbing the Rastin Observation Tower and checking out all the walking trails in Mt. Vernon Ohio's Ariel Park. (We climbed to the top of the observation tower twice – crazy!) If you're ever near Mt. Vernon Ohio I highly recommend checking out this park. They've turned an grounds for a factory into dozens of hiking trails and huge hills to climb, and we had a blast enjoying the day.
The top of the tower was ridiculously windy, as you can tell from our pretty pic. 😉 She just came in to let me know she's hit 19,00 steps today (I'm just over 16,000 ~ will have to beat her tomorrow I guess . . . )  but I so loved enjoying some frugal fun with this girl all to myself. After getting home tonight we helped James work on our backyard update (I can't wait until it's done!), and I'm just now sitting down to catch my breath.
So that's what we've been up to for the last few days ~ just a few more weeks before summer starts so we're determined to enjoy every minute of it! If you're getting ready for back to school too, be sure to take a peek at this week's deals at Office Depot and Staples. Happy back to school saving!
