This no fuss egg roll in a bowl with ground turkey is full of delicious and healthy ingredients and comes together in a flash!
Egg Roll in a Bowl with Ground Turkey – SO GOOD!
This Egg Roll In A Bowl is seriously one of the best recipes EVER! You get all the flavor and ingredients in a yummy egg roll without all the carbs from a wrapper or the calories from frying like in a traditional egg roll.
Not to mention this recipe comes together in a flash! It's the perfect weeknight dinner when you're running around and barely have time to breathe. You can have this on the table in 30 minutes or less! That's ALWAYS a winner winner chicken (turkey) dinner right there. 🙂
🍴 MENU PLAN NOTE: This delicious Egg Roll in a Bowl Recipe can also be found in week 9 of our Summer Menu Planning Made Easy Plans (but it's delicious ANY time of the year!).
Here are the ingredients you'll need:
- ground turkey or pork
- garlic
- shredded coleslaw mix
- low-sodium soy sauce
- squeeze ginger or ground ginger
- eggs
- sriracha
- sesame oil
- green onions
- sesame seeds (optional)
How to make an egg roll in a bowl with ground turkey:
Grab a large skillet and brown the turkey or pork until it's no longer pink. Add the garlic and sauté for just a bit then stir in the coleslaw mix, soy sauce and ginger. Sauté that until it gets to your desired tenderness.
Next, make a well in the center of the skillet and add the egg. Scramble until done and mix in with ingredients. Stir in that yummy sriracha.
Drizzle with sesame oil (this is the main flavor so don't skip this ingredient).
To finish it off, sprinkle with a few green onions and some sesame seeds. Toasted sesame seeds are the best if you have some. If you don't, just add a few to a dry skillet; cook on low heat and toss them around until they are fragrant and toasted.
What goes with egg roll in a bowl?
I like to grab a package of frozen potstickers, gyoza dumplings, wontons or crab rangoon to serve alongside the egg roll in a bowl recipe. It seems to just pair very nicely without adding too many extra calories.
A few other ideas are the Thai-style chicken noodle soup from our low calorie menu plans or the zesty fruit salad or edamame, corn and tomato salad from our sides menu plans pack.
This egg roll in a bowl recipe is seriously one of my absolute favorites and I know you'll love it too!

Does egg roll in a bowl reheat well?
YES! In fact, sometimes it tastes even better after sitting together and marrying those flavors together for a bit! Just reheat in a skillet, the microwave, or even toss in a casserole dish and warm in the oven.

Yay, so glad you liked it Maria!
Hello Laurie,
I am wondering if I could use ground chicken instead of ground Turkey or pork?
Thanks,
Dana
That would absolutely work! I actually used it the last time I made it couldn’t tell a difference. Can’t wait to hear what you think! 🙂
Could you omit the sriracha and it be fine?
I think it would be perfectly fine! 🙂
Do you think it would be ok to leave out the sesame oil or should I sub with another oil?
I have left it out before and it was still delicious! It does add a little bit of extra flavor, but it isn’t a necessary ingredinet. Hope that helps!
Good morning Laurie.
A couple questions about this recipe, which sounds delicious, By the way ….
1. Can I omit the meat?
2. Can I roll this mixture into a wrapper and fry it?
Thanks. Enjoy your 4th of July❣️
Susan
Hey, Susan~ I am sure you can probably omit the meat and try rolling it in a wrapper. We have not tried that but it sounds yummy:)
