Dr Pepper Zero Sugar Recall: Here’s What You Need to Know
Heads up if you’re a Dr Pepper fan in the Southeast! Over 19,000 cases of Dr Pepper Zero Sugar have been recalled after it was discovered that the cans may actually contain the regular, full-sugar version instead of the zero-sugar formula.
What’s Being Recalled?
- Product: Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar – 12-packs and 24-packs of 12-oz cans
- Product Code: XXXXRS05165
- Best By Date: February 16, 2026
Where Was It Sold?
This recall currently affects retailers in just three states:
- Florida
- Georgia
- South Carolina
If you live outside these states, your Dr Pepper Zero Sugar is not part of the recall.
Why This Matters
The FDA classified this as a Class II recall, which means consuming the mislabeled product could cause temporary or medically reversible health issues. For example, if you're diabetic or avoiding sugar for medical reasons, you could unknowingly consume around 39 grams of sugar per can.
What To Do If You Have It
- Check your cans for the product code XXXXRS05165 and “Best By” date Feb 16, 2026.
- If your cans match, either:
- Return them to the store for a full refund, or
- Dispose of them if you’re concerned about sugar intake.
- If sugar isn't a concern for you, there’s no danger—just a surprise dose of sweetness.
This recall doesn’t affect most of the country, but it’s a big deal for anyone trying to manage their sugar intake. Double-check your pantry if you’re in the Southeast, and be sure to share this with anyone who might be affected!
Stay safe and check those cans!
