If you're looking for a fun way to jazz up your front door this Christmas but don't have hours to spend on a tricky DIY – this one is for you! Making this bow was crazy easy and only took me 5 minutes. Yep, you read that right! 5 minutes and my door is festive and ready for Christmas. (Okay, okay – 5 minutes plus 2 minutes in Michael's grabbing supplies, I lied.)
I've seen these adorable giant bows on your front door before but have never tried it because I cannot for the life of me tie a pretty bow! I can tie a regular bow, tie my shoes…but that's about it. BUT, I found a pre-made bow that makes this DIY front door Christmas bow a breeze! It's essentially the cheater's way to a cute bow. And I'm fine with that!

Supplies to make Your Own Christmas Bow for Your Front Door:
All you need for this DIY is a couple spools of ribbon and a large, pre-made bow. Now, if you are gifted with the ability to tie a pretty bow, just grab more ribbon and make it real!
I snagged this red polka dot bow (I love the velvet texture) and this large mesh ribbon from Michaels. I ended up needing both spools but have a bit leftover.
Grab your scissors and you're ready to go.
How to decorate a door for Christmas:
Open your door and slide the ribbon underneath the door. Unroll the ribbon all the way so that it lays flat on the inside of the door and the ends come together in the front for the vertical strip. I decided I wanted my bow around the peephole and centered side-to-side. You could make your bow totally centered, or even do an off-center upper corner style.
Here's what it looks like on the inside. You could add a second bow inside if you want!
Cut the ribbon and tie it together (it doesn't have to be pretty) where your bow will go. Repeat this step for the horizontal piece, but tying the knot around your existing ribbon so they're secured together.
Then (here's what makes this so easy), your bow should have wire for attaching. Simply twist the metal wire around your center knot and twist until it's nice and tight and not hanging.
Trim off any excess or frayed ribbon ends and you're good to go! What do you think of this DIY Front Door Christmas Bow??
