How to make Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole:
Did someone say bacon??? Cook some chopped bacon and red onion in a large deep skillet. I prefer an iron skillet but any deep skillet will do.
Add a pound of lean ground beef or even ground turkey and a bit of seasoned salt and continue to cook with the bacon and onions until the meat is browned. Drain well.
Toss in some tomatoes, beef broth, dill relish, water and pasta. You'll cover and simmer that until the pasta is cooked.
Lookin' good! 😋
Stir in mozzarella cheese, half and half, ketchup, mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
Things are getting a bit saucy here but this combination really does work – just trust the process!
Continue to cook this over medium-high heat stirring constantly 2-3 minutes or until sauce is thickened.
Take off heat and let stand a couple of minutes before serving to thicken up the sauce a bit more. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Sprinkle with extra cheese, pickles, onions and bacon or any of your other favorite burger toppings!
